Upon the recommendation of a friend who's being taking her car to Tom & Gerrys for years, I took my 2006 Cobalt in with what, as it turns out, was a common problem with these cars, and they repaired it for fairly reasonable cost. To be honest, I was pleased with the service and didn't feel gouged. I returned some months later and had them do an oil change along with some minor repair...don't recall what it was. About a week later, I noticed large amounts of motor oil under my parked car, and no matter where I parked, if I was there any more than 10 minutes there was an oil puddle under my car. I returned to this establishment for a recurrence of the throttle body problem, and mentioned there also seemed to be an oil leak. $97CAD later they told me there was little they could do for the throttle body..it would probably need to be replaced, and mentioned that they tightened my oil filter, because it was really loose. I'm angry because they charged me to tighten an oil fiter that they themselves left loose on my car just weeks earlier. I had not gone 'off-roading' or otherwise been anywhere close to any place that would have caused serious enough vibration to loosen the oil filter that much, and yet they acted as though they had done me a favor by tightening it for me. Did I go complain? No..I did not. Had I been forced to listen to some quasi-defense/ excuse for why my oil filter had not been properly tightened when I got the oil change, I'm afraid I would have just gotten angry and caused quite a scene...so I just didn't say anything. I simply decided that I'd never go back. Not only that, but should anyone ever ask me where they should take their car for repairs, I'm sure I'll tell them where not to go. Yes..this company probably has some glowing reviews, but even a broken clock is right twice a day; they can't be all bad...but be very, very careful. Chris Rawlinson, Lethbridge, AB. read more
