This is my second time visiting this store, and it will be my last time ever. The first visit which took place about 6 months was very normal and I did the exact same thing last time as this time, and got a very different reaction from the exact same manager. On this visit, I saw a Justice League #1, and I said, "Wow, I had no idea this was already released." He said, "Just came in." I said "Great." There were about 15 copies in the stack, so I proceeded to inspect each copy of Justice League #1 looking for the best copy, the same way my stepdad inspects every coin he buys (he's a formerly coin collector) or the way my mom and your mom looks for the best tomato, watermelon, or orange etc. in the produce section at the grocer. As comic book collectors, aren't we all looking for a "Gem Mint" copy? Anyway, as I was finishing, I pulled out an awesome copy, and I said "Awesome." He said, "I need you to stop doing that." At first, I didn't understand what he meant? I looked at myself to see if I was wearing anything offending or trying to figure out what he meant. I didn't quite understand. Then, he said, "We generally don't let people go through every copy. It's obnoxious (Remember, the same manager didn't have a problem with me doing it last time). Remembering who is the customer here, I replied, "I generally don't buy products I'm not allowed to inspect. I have inspected this one, and so I will buy it. But if I'm not allowed to inspect anything else, I won't be buying anything more." I planned to spend about $25 to 30 more, but his attitude towards my "obnoxious" behavior, made me change my mind. Then, I asked to buy a sleeve and protection board which he sold me for 50 cents, and I added, "It's your shop and your right to conduct business anyway you want." He said, "Yup, it's my right." I bought the comic and said, "nice meeting you. bye." I didn't want to drive all the way back to Albuquerque where six other comic book shops could have sold me that copy. That's why I bought it from him. Before ending this review, I want to say that I have been collecting for 28 years now, and in approximately 75 comic book stores in the 42 states I have physically been in. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER, has a comic book store manager ever told me that I was obnoxious for trying to get the best copy from the available selection. If you are an "obnoxious" person like me who is always trying to get the best condition possible (AFTER ALL WE ARE COMIC BOOK COLLECTORS) then I suggest you drive 45 miles south to Albuquerque where 6 other stores are begging for you to inspect their comic books and where it's their privilege to have you as a customer rather than the opposite. read more
