I asked a simple question about what he recommended for fishing in the lake, and instead of helping me, he mumbled "f***ing idiot" under his breath. He didn't yell it at me, but I heard exactly what he said, and I don't appreciate being spoken about that way over a simple question. He was pointing toward the fishing bait in front of me, but with an entire wall full of different products, I couldn't tell which ones he was referring to. It's disappointing to be treated this way, especially when I've been coming here for years. Experiences like this also make me question whether there is a broader pattern of disrespectful or potentially discriminatory treatment at places around Strawberry and some of the smaller local businesses. I can't say for certain what motivated his behavior, but it left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I've spent thousands of dollars supporting businesses throughout this community over the years, and I've always enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately, experiences like this make me reconsider where I choose to spend my time and money. Customers deserve basic courtesy and respect, even when they're simply asking for a recommendation. They have full Rossi rental packages. The boots were comfortable if not a little basic. The skis were in good condition. Everything looked fairly new. The poles were a little cheap, but who cares--they're just sticks right? We also got a demo package. Nicer Rossi boots plus Atomic skis. The previous week I tried the premium Rossi skis somewhere else, but these Atomics were hot. After I returned them, he offered to sell me a new pair that were on sale. Not this time, but I was tempted. The staff was friendly and knowledgable, without being overbearing or know it all. The were fast too. They sped us through our paperwork, we paid up front, and returned our stuff by 5:30 day of. Great experience overall!
