If I could give zero stars I would. Worst customer service. No managers around to talk to. All the sales stickers were taken off and was told that the sale ended yesterday but they can't honor it yesterday...how does that make sense. If it ends July 30 then you should have til the store closes that day for the sale. Was there yesterday with my wife after going to O'rielly Auto Parts store and needed to use the restroom badly. Asked the salesman and he said he's going to ask his manager. Came back and said they don't have a restroom which was a lie because a couple months back they let my daughter used it. I wonder who is managing the store now. It is sad because we had to leave, had they let me used it would have spent more time shopping there and spend some good cash. Especially, with how the econmy is would you say allowing your customers to use a restroom in your facility would better your sales by allowing them to shop more comfortably? Who pissed on Ashley's Cheerios this morning!? Super rude ghetto customer service coming from store manager ASHLEY. But what can I expect from a boarded up store. She was super rude to myself and to another store manager in Turlock California. I was trying to return some items in Turlock and Ashley was very rude and ballsy over the phone to store manager (turlock) and I called also while at the Turlock location and she did the same to me just plain out super rude and disappointingly ghetto. I had to drive from Turlock to Mer-DEAD and Ashley wasn't ballsy enough to come out and take care of me or the problem. She sent up a young lady to attend me and Ashley still didn't come out. Everything I pick out was marked wrong. 5 things all came up different price than on shelf. The one guy who's always just standing there right where you walk in is useless! Went in to buy a pair shoes for work and the gym and Donte was very helpful. He was attentive to the customers. He even went above and beyond and helped me find the size that will fit my feet best. Absolutely horrible service. Made us wait extremely long periods even the store was EMPTY & employees were just milling around. Employees have absolutely no idea what they are doing or selling. We asked what the appropriate shells for our shotgun were & were given & sold the wrong ones & could not legally return the shells. Had to wait around & return multiple times even though we would call before hand to make sure she was in just for Esmeralda to give us the most subpar instructions & sell us the wrong shells. read more

Long story short I've never fished before in my life so I unknowingly bought HALF EMPTY BAIT from this location. Fast forward a week or two and at the river when I finally open my bait and it's already OPEN, USED and DRY! Thankfully I had bought another different bait that was actually brand new and sealed! So when I get back into town I immediately drive to the Big 5 to exchange the nasty bait for what I paid for, A BRAND NEW BAIT. I didn't buy the cheap $4.99 power bait either I bought the Gulp! That's like $6.49. The MANAGER KEPT REFUSING to exchange the bait basically saying that it was ME who used it and now trying to return it!!!!! I would never in my life use up a bait and return it to the store and lie about it. LIKE DUDE WTF NOR HAVE I EVER BOUGHT BAIT IN MY LIFE I DIDNT REALIZE I SHOULD CHECK THE SEAL BEFOREHAND... IF THERE IS AN ALL SALES FINAL POLICY THE BAIT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED BY THE CASHIER BEFORE LETTING IT LEAVE THE STORE! I know I had just came from the river and was looking a bit rough but seriously she was treating me like I was a total scumbag... I have money to spend but not money to just throw away!! On bait that someone in this crazy town STOLE before I bought it!!!!! She kept refusing and saying that I could have a discount on another jar... like, NO I want what I paid for! A huge chain store especially Big 5 should have better policies, security, and customer service! They should tape the outside and check them upon purchase if you have an all sales final policy! I had to make a big ol' scene which I absolutely hate it was embarrassing and belittling, I was completely flustered, frustrated even accidentally cursing before the manager finally did the right thing and just exchanged the damn used up crusty bait that no one would ever spend their hard earned money on. Honestly I think this is probably a common occurrence too because seriously on my first fishing trip ever I bought different bait from both Walmart, and Big 5 two of which were already used and dry, the difference is Walmart exchanged it no problem and didn't treat me like a thief and liar BECAUSE I AM NOT ONE! I definitely will never come here again, EVER. ALWAYS ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BAIT BEFORE YOU BUY, IT'S NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE never in my life have I been treated this was it was the worst management/customer service ever! We stopped at this store to get some last minute snow supplies for Yosemite. We checked the map and yelp reviewed this a 1 star. We were hesitant but it was in our proximity so we wandered in. Upon arrival we greeted and within 3minutes of being in the store Brianna approached us with a friendly smile and a genuine interest in helping. She stuck with our group until we were all supplied with what we needed. She offered sensible recommendations. She was friendly and attentive.
