But since they don't brew anything I guess they would be categorized as a tap house. They offer a nice variety of mainly local beers. They also have a relatively small menu of food items. I have tried several different things. Nothing to really rave about. But nothing to complain about either. All in all pretty decent fare. With that said the real draw here is the property. A country setting strewn with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Making it a very nice place to hang for a while. Especially, that they often have live entertainment. I'm a biker and this makes a great destination or pit stop. I will return to Skylands for sure.

Good food for a local bar, friendly service. Just don't come hangry!…read more This seems to be a hangout for regulars chatting at the bar, with a small menu of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches. We came on a Friday evening, tired and hungry, so waiting for food wasn't something we wanted. But wait we did. However, when we eventually got our food, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the burger patty, and the grilled cheese accompaniment to the tomato bisque (especially since they said there was no more of the chili I ordered). The staff came over several times to check in which was appreciated. The food and service saved the experience for us! Prices were also reasonable. They have outdoor seating as well, which is where most people chose. If they were a more well-run establishment they could take this to the next level. Parking is around the corner of the Characters restaurant and seems to be plentiful.

The service was above and beyond. It was around that moment, I realized I should have gone to Equilibrium. Two months later, I was again traveling through Middletown and I planned my day around visiting. The space was cool. Lots of wood. Cool large Einstein art as you approach the building. Lots of inside seating with natural light. Outside seating and smokers for BBQ. I ordered two 4 ounce pours as a way of informing my can purchases. Photon, a Pale Ale. And MC Squared, a Double IPA. Both were very good. Reminded me of the ales at some other top breweries. I decided to buy a 4 of MC Squared and I asked the person working if there was anything special that they had in cans. She recommended Mmmosa, which is a pale ale with orange flavor. I tried it and it also was very good. I didn't eat, but I note that Equilibrium really seems focused on BBQ. Something to research before you visit. 4.5 Stars

i love the ambiance and outdoor space, the interior of the brewery is beautiful as well. but…read moreoverall i was unfortunately very disappointed in the beer and food. my pours were not quite to the top on any of my orders and all the beer was a bit too bitter and didn't quite match on the description. the real kicker for me was the food. we got the lamb pizza and lobsters poutine. the pizza crust was so thing that the middle was pure mush, it was way too soggy to hold its own weight, despite a great flavor the texture was completely off. i enjoyed eating it with a fork because the lamb and toppings themselves were great. the lobster poutine had a weird mix of lettuce with fries, cheese, and lobster. the lobster was cold and tasted frozen, with no seasoning or butter on it whatsoever. the fries were good at least but the cheese curds weren't freshly melted so the fries were stuck together in cheese clumps, overall the dish seemed like it was sitting out for awhile and just cold. for the price of the food it just did not match the product, i'd like to come again and try out some different food options like the peaches and their most popular pizza but unfortunately they were out of a lot when i visited. all in all i was super excited to visit here and felt dissatisfied when leaving. for the prices here the food and beer just were lacking in quality, it felt like you were paying for the venue instead.
