Interesting spot. We both got the ribs, and while I wouldn't say they were the best ribs in the…read moreworld, they were pretty tasty. Maybe a bit too well done. Salad was just so-so, but I gotta get in the veggies, so that fit the bill. Beer and wine was a bit pricy for what was served, but you can't go to a biergarten without beer.

As usual, lets start with the relevant : Go there and enjoy ! But as usual , lets only concentrate on the pure facts: classification traditional german urban restaurant quality of food very good to excellent service sustainable excellent price/performance ratio : 95% customer orientation : 100 % comming back to the starter: what do you expect from a significant young service-team running an traditional old-school restaurant with a menu containing about ~160 meals ? -chaos ? , missing knowlege about all that meals ? poor service ? - exceeding waiting times ? Convenience food ? etc Believe me saying , that weve found nothing of all that issues ! Surrounding condition: 70 % occupied on a sunday afternoon ! anyhow : Entry : Started with a warm and professional welcome. Handing over the menu taking the order in no time (drinks) 25 minutes to study the menu (recommendation ,instead of handing over the menu just ask the guest what he likes, we believe its on the menue somewhere ;-) ) Order (time to serving about 20 min. very good) : salad ( fresh and tasty) good pancake (freshly cooked i guess no frozen somewhat) excellent main: childrens schnitzel excellent BLT sandwich excellent sliced beef with rice (ordered with baked potato but recommended to served with rice + add. potato point out again again excellent knowlege of the menu) jaegerschnitzel (asked for no creamy sauce, only mushrooms recommended with onions + mushrooms + spicy bernaise*) excellent as wellps : spicy bernaise sauce was warm which is not typical in surroundings of hanover restaurants (for bad example see as well feed for Langenhagen Steakfarm)dessert: childrens voted for ice cream , recommended by service that one cup is enough for both of them (quite professional .) In a nutshell: our recommendation : whatever you expect from an traditional restaurant- pub near hanover, you`ll find it in Gehrden. Again pointing out that, despite of the very young service crew, most of the high price restaurants already visited, they may learn a lot from this young crew what service could mean. Jan *as usual posted this feed in english , to give an recommendation as well to international visitors staying in the hanover region. restaurants are compared in their class and always remember : good food is not a crime

Simple, delicate, and meticulously prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed the white asparagus, shrimp…read moreburger, and chocolate cake. Drink: The Moscow mule: was made with vodka (for those of you who didn't know), ginger beer, and cucumber syrup. The garnish was a slice of cucumber straddling a physalis (a little fruit) all on a wooden stick. A little too easy to drink. Main: The White asparagus: was prepared with baked and peeled potatoes and a hollandaise sauce. The Shrimp burger: was seared, to leave the shrimp crispy yet rare on the inside. It was prepared with slightly sweet and garlicky, chilled potatoes. Dessert: The chocolate cake: was light and fluffy, when stabbed with a spoon you can see that the center had the consistency of lava. It was accompanied by strawberries in a mint and elderflower syrup. To top it off there was a glass with a single scoop of champagne sorbet.
