The Doctor is a nice man. However, his technique never worked for me. It didn't help that my first appointment was a severe miss fire. I arrived at my first appointment and walked in only to be cancelled on due to a family emergency. Not a huge issue as things happen, however no on followed up with me or apologized beyond the first time to cancel on me at the door. This office was recommended so I tried again. I am definitely a skeptic when it comes to Chiropractic care, but under Dr. Bierbrauer's care, I feel less skeptical. I like that he incorporates soft tissue work, and the appointment is mostly joint mobilization/soft tissue. I have been working through a shoulder injury for a few years, and a couple of appointments with Dr. Bierbrauer has already helped my shoulder feel less useless. So I am beginning to realize I am no longer in my 20s .... heck later in 2010 I won't be in my 30s either :-(. Not sure what I did ... whether it was moving or shoveling but let me tell you my back was a hurtin sumthin fierce. I went to the Dr office and they recommended seeing a chiropractor and doing physical therapy. I asked if they recommended anyone and they gave me Dr Bierbrauer's card. I gave a call to the clinic and he got me in that day. 1st session I was in so much pain all he did was electric therapy. It felt like tiny ants running on your back. Within an hour, I was starting to feel a difference. I went back today for a 2nd session, and let's just say I feel like I could go dancing. (Don't worry I won't be since I still need to take it easy) Here is what I appreciate and like. I have colleagues who have gone to chiropractors and had to pay a certain amount up front for a "diagnosis" and then have to "buy" a certain amount of sessions. That is not the case here. I felt like it was handled like a regular Dr's office and he took my insurance. So I am only paying my copay. My back is on the mend and I feel like I can still tell people I am in my 20s :-) read more

Long lead-in: I suffered from all sorts of pain the past 15 - 16 months. It started when I was walking and everything on my right side starting hurting like crazy. I tried to walk/work through it but it was painful even sitting down. So a couple of weeks after that a buddy suggested I lay down on a firm surface with a softball under my back right at the point the pain was emanating from. So that reduced the pain somewhat but never, ever made the problem go away. Most folks thought it was sciatica, including those who suffer from it. Anyway I got tired of walking around stooped over after getting up from a chair and started doing some research. Friends of my believe in chiropractic treatments and have gotten relief from maladies. I searched both Yelp and my insurance plan to find the best fit for a chiropractor in downtown Minneapolis. That's how I ended up going to see Dr. Bierbrauer. He took my medical background and didn't look at me funny when I told I've been in pain for 15 - 16 months (I really appreciated that). I tried to be very specific when describing all of the stuff that's gone wrong. He told me that he focuses on soft tissue, first, as tight muscles can cause many problems that might be misinterpreted as problems with joints. After about 30 minutes or so of stretching muscles that really haven't been worked sufficiently in years I started feeling much better. Two days later I was able to get up from chairs and not feel the deep pain in the small of my back. Today I went back for a followup visit. Think of it as fine tuning. The summation is that Dr. Bierbrauer treated the causes of my pains, not just the symptoms. Treatment like this is much longer lasting, in my experience. He also gave me good suggestions on stretching and maintaining the muscles that were the primary cause of my pain. AND, he never, ever tried to say anything like "Come back in a couple days". I asked when I should come back and he said whenever I thought I should. My strongest possible endorsement for Dr. Bierbrauer. read more

I have had back problems and little aches and pains for years. Jut the usual stuff I thought I'd just live with until I went to Dr. Bierbrauer. I came in that same day and began his magic. Traditional adjustment with some intense muscular massage. I mean.....he got right in there in my lower back and even in my wrist which is a wreck from years at a desk job and on the computer. When I first started seeing Dr Chris, I had been in an auto accident. I was in a lot of pain. It was hard to do things like get a good night sleep, use my right arm. As a massage therapist, you kind of need both of your arms. I specifically sought out an ART provider, because knew I needed soft tissue work as well as chiropractic work. Today my shoulder is nearly as good as it was before the accident, and soon enough it will be better than before. ART is an amazing treatment for these reasons: 1. It is specific to the actual issue you are having. 2. There is not excessive work on or around the area that you need treated. ART providers can feel the individual muscles and injured structures where most massage therapist just feel a "tight area". I have never been to a chiropractor before and I was a skeptic. But I must say I was more then pleased with my experience at Bierbrauer Chiropractic. The clinic was very welcoming and easy to find. Dr. Bierbrauer not only fixed my rotators cuff on my first visit but he gave me exercises to prevent me injury from happening again. I was recommended to Dr. Bierbrauer after screwing up my ankle from working out. He fixed me up fast and i was back on my spin bike within a couple of weeks. Dr. Chris is the best chiropractor I've seen. He is very well versed in ART and always explains what is going on in my neck/back/shoulder and how the treatment is intended to help. Other chiropractors I have seen have not always taken the time to explain these things; they do some cracking and popping and send me on my way. Dr. Chris is very thorough and intentional, which I so appreciate. Love the online scheduling, and he has worked me into a full schedule on occasion. I was having severe lower back pain, and the coach in my marathon training program recommended that I see a chiropractor. I saw the good reviews for Bierbrauer on yelp and decided to check it out. I had never been to a chiropractor before and was initially a little skeptical, but after my session the pain that had previously limited my ability to walk was almost totally gone! I was able to complete a 14-mile run the next day without any problems. After my follow-up appointment the lingering minor pain disappeared completely and I haven't had any issues since.
