This is a LONG review, but I urge you to read it if you are suffering from chronic pain!!!
A little background:
I am a child care provider and also a mom of young children. I have suffered from wrist problems for a decade on and off: I have bilateral tendonitis and after my second child, I developed painful De Quervain's Syndrome in both thumbs. A decade ago, I went to physical therapy and got somewhat better, but I never fully healed or regained the ability to do my daily activities without soreness far more frequently than anyone else I knew.
After my most recent diagnosis, I again tried physical therapy but it didn't really make enough of a difference and I was referred to a hand surgeon for cortisone injections. I received 3 injections in both wrists over the course of about 7 months. The first time, I immediately felt relief and continued with my daily life and my work as a child care provider. Unfortunately, the pain came back again.. and again. The next course of action I was told would be surgery. I wasn't convinced or ready, so I found a new doctor. He was more conservative and put my right hand/wrist in a cast for 4 weeks to see if rest would heal it. We removed the cast, finding my left wrist was worse than before and the pain was gone in the right, for 2 days. TWO DAYS! The pain was back again.
I had heard from a family friend that a chiropractor had done something called A.R.T. on their De Quervain's, and it worked! I found Dr. Brian Levernier on the A.R.T. website and set up an appointment I was excited but doubtful as nothing else had worked thus far, but was relieved when he told me that after about 2 weeks of treatment, we would know if it would help me or not, and if not, he wouldn't keep 'treating me'.
After ONE treatment, Dr. Brian told me more of why I was having continued problems than 4 doctors: After one treatment, I could see a difference. Not a miracle cure mind you, but a positive real difference. I have been coming to Dr. Brian now for about two months and I can do more now than I've been able to do in a year. I still have soreness, I still have pain from time to time, but I'm confident that with my continued treatment and some more physical therapy that I will be really truly better for the first time in 10 years.
I STRONGLY encourage anyone who is having similar pain to come to Dr. Brian for a 2 week trial and see if he can make a difference for you too. It's been amazing.
