I must say that I got lucky yesterday, 7/10, when I went back to this store prepared to order a bike that I like after doing so many searching online. The first time I went I was disappointed because the color I prefer was not available in store. Bill gave me some info about the bike and the size for my height, he spent a good 10 minutes telling me all informations I needed, and its prices, and I am thankful for that. Then I did my own research, comparing all possible bikes then I decided to go for a trek MTB in which this store carries. Trek site suggested to see a local store because they are the only one who can tell you more about it including the arrival date, and you cannot order any bikes online. Shortages on bikes, too? Came back to the store expecting nothing, but Oh boy, they have the exact bike and specs available, and it just arrived (blessed me). Bill told me that it would take 1 year if I have to order one. To make the story short I ended up buying it, my best bike to date. I am one happy customer here! (Early birthday present, my wife said) I've been to this store before for some bike accessories and bike tune-ups. Bill is the guy, give him a try. read more

This shop is so great! We have been going here for a couple years bought bikes, had bikes fixed, tuned up, bought gear and just asked general questions. We have always had great friendly helpful service. Bob takes time to talk & get to know his customers. He generally gets our bikes back in a day or two. It does great stuff for the community. After visiting many bike shops in the area, I went to Bicycles Unlimited to see what all the fuss was about. I was thoroughly impressed. Getting back into cycling, I took my inherited '85 Trek 870 in for a tune up and inspection. Steve jumped over and adjusted my brakes for free, gave me insight and tips, as well as answered any questions and concerns I had for my Trek. Any hardware he didn't have he offered to order online. Impressed, I was curious as to how much experience Steve had. Needless to say, he had more than enough to make him credible and trustworthy. I will be supporting Steve and his shop from now on! When you plan on going, make sure you know what you're talking about and have your needs in mind; you'll come out of the shop knowing more than when you go in. I've been cycling down the Pacific Coast for the past month or so and have stopped at numerous local bike shops (LBS) along the way. While I usually just request to use the pump to check my tire pressure, this time, I needed to purchase a new water bottle cage as well. Steve, the owner/tech, started up a good conversation with me as soon as I entered the store and let me use some tools to affix the cage to my bike. In the process of mounting the cage, I discovered that there was another issue. Steve helped me diagnose the issue and, though he didn't have the exact part I needed, found an excellent temporary solution to help me finish my tour. Additionally, he took the time to index my gears and provided me advice on how to fix a reoccurring issue once I returned home from my tour that other LBS had ignored. During my hour long stay in the store, I watched Steve help other customers with the same friendly attitude. When I went to pay, I expected to pay for labor as well (like most other LBS shops would have charged); however, he only charged me for the cage. In all, this is an excellent store and I couldn't more highly recommend it to other cyclists. read more

I'm really happy with my purchase at bicycles unlimited. Steve was really helpful and patient when helping me decide on a high end mountain bike. He also helped me get the bike set up for my size and weight! Hopefully I'll be returning soon to re-adjust the suspension to compensate for a little much needed weight loss! I rode my bike to work today - it was harder then I remembered but I was able to do it bc I took my poor bike that had sat in storage forever to Bicycles Unlimited. It was like riding a whole new bike. Not only did they tune up my bike super fast but less needed to be replaced than I was mentally preparing myself for so it was a very reasonable price. They also helped me fit me for a helmet and even helped me to put my bike rack onto the car. I love supporting places that are locally owned and have some history in general and I really feel like this shop took care of me. read more

The first time I came in to Bicycles Unlimited, I had a problem with my seat. I had tried to fix it myself, but simply didn't have the tools to tighten it properly. I wheeled it in to see if they could help and Steve kindly tightened it up for me without even charging. I left very happy. A few weeks later, I got a flat. Naturally, I returned to BU because I was very happy with their previous service. Steve was aimiable as always, and replaced my inner tube in less than 10 minutes for less than $15. I highly recommend BU for sales or service. I won't go anywhere else for repairs! Steve and the kind gentleman that helped me load the bike back into the Blazer made my day. Thanks guys! read more

So I went in today after work to try and get some air in my tires but they charge one Dollar pure tired really your going to charge for some air this is really steep considering that you can get air for you car for free wound up walking my bike home today was reddy I happy with how I was treated as well I felt as I was not good enough and that he was above me don't think I will be going back I will just have to bring my bike to Santa Barbra from now on read more

Don't go anywhere else. These people are great. They are not bike snobs. They help you no matter what level you are at. And they don't look down at you if you don't know every detail about bikes. I'm just a daily recreational bike user who does it locally for the exercise on a Walmart bike. Repair-wise, they just want to see you get back on your bike and get out there and enjoy yourself. Their repair prices are ridiculously fair. And their turnaround times are astonishingly quick. They inspire complete trust and confidence. I'd give them 6+ stars if I could. read more

Me and my wife are on vacation for a week in Lompoc from Arizona.. I went in to the shop just to find a break lever for one of our kids bikes. Steve the owner is right off the bat super kind and nice. Out of the corner of my eye I catch this orange mountain bike (was looking if price aloud) it was out of my range a bit but Steve took care of us. He orders me parts and gets them for me before I even left town! Needless to say if you need a shop that treats you like family this is your shop to go to.
