This is a fun outing for a family even with small kids, as they have bikes with attachments for little ones. Of course, electric bikes have changed the game and really made this a full on touring experience if you want it to be that way. They also have regular beach cruisers too, if that is more your style. The path is relatively flat and paved, so it's super easy either way. We've taken the whole crew on multiple rides down to Dana Point harbor, and Doheny State Beach. You can also ride south to the San Clemente Pier (pictured). The rental prices were reasonable and not too expensive. Staff was responsive and reasonably friendly. Overall it's a very entertaining afternoon activity, especially when the weather is nice. read more

Went on a ride thru San Clemente and had some problems with my derailleur. This shop was conveniently along our route so I stopped in to see if they could help. Spoke to Austin who was working on another bike. Even though he was busy and I had no appointment, he took the time to fix the problem. We were up and riding again in 20 minutes! What a great adventure! Saw the shop yesterday while waiting for the trolley. We came back today and rented e-bikes. Barkley greeted us and was super helpful with suggestions on where to ride. Took a trip to Dana Point and stopped at the beach. Took in the nearby trail. Bikes were fantastic. Thank God for the throttle. Such fun. Highly recommend this place. read more

This rental place is great! I rented a 7-gear cruiser bike for 2 hours and it cost $23- not too bad at all!! Austin was great at helping me figure out the best bike to use and getting me set up quickly to zip right on out! He was also very understanding when I was running a little late and didn't manage my time too well. Austin also offered to help my friend (who brought her own bike) with bike advice/maintenance tips. He knows what he's doing and talking about! I rented on a Friday afternoon, and it was a nice stroll up and down PCH. I highly recommend this place. The location is great bc it's right off PCH, has a parking lot, and easy access to the bike path! Not to mention- amazing views whether you head north or south. I'm definitely coming back for my future rentals!! They had many options to choose from! It's super accommodating to all of your rental needs! read more

We were looking to rent bike for me: middle aged 5'2" woman, while staying in San Clemente. Our condo is right near the pier, so Bicycles San Clemente was the closest electric bike rental shop. I have seen the shop through the years as I have strolled the San Clemente Beach Trail often. I've always thought is was the coolest location. I was told over the phone that they had a bike that would suit me. When we arrived and we were met with excellent customer service, including instructions on how to ride the bike to visual aids to help us find the bike ride that would suit us. We had the best time! We rode down to Doheny State Park and were treated to a steel drum concert and indulged ourselves in a couple beers at Doho Cafe. What a fun, laid-back scene! We returned the bikes to Austin the owner and had a friendly chat with him. This shop does it all. From bike rentals to bike repairs and sales. Check this place out; it's a winner! read more

After reading the reviews, it is Interesting to see that I'm not the only one that encountered the woman that acts extremely rude if you arrive even a minute before they open. I was about 1-2 minutes early but approached the shop anyways. She sees me, ignores me and walks into the shop to finish putting things outside on display. When I ask for help she says she's still in the middle of setting up and gave off the rudest vibe. I was about ready to leave and go somewhere else, but stayed and she said she'd be about 4-5 more minutes. When she was finally ready (which was after official opening time) I told her I had a tire that needed repair. She says it can be anywhere from 20min to an hour.. depending on how many people come in and need help. No one was there btw. I come back about 20 min later to pick up my bike. Upon getting my receipt, I say thank you, she hears me and says nothing. I feel like she is in the wrong line of business if she gets irritated and treats customers that way over something so minor like being a minute or 2 early. This is at the beginning of the work day, not the end of day when people can reasonably be more irritable depending on how the day went. I would avoid this place at all cost. read more

Great place to rent bikes! Perfect location w plenty of parking and they are at the start of the bike trail that will take you from North Beach San Clemente to Marine Institute Dana Point Harbor. The staff were friendly, helpful, quick and prices were fair. Most importantly, we not only felt safe with good bikes, helmuts, baskets and a lock, we enjoyed the scenic ride on the dedicated trails. read more

Such a smooth and seamless experience. Called to check if they had e-bikes available in the next 15 mins and just showed up. The staff was extremely friendly and took their time explaining how to operate the bikes, and sharing the rules to observe--Berkeley was so sweet! She even provided a lock!! Really enjoyed our time exploring San Clemente without having to overly exhort myself! An absolute BLAST! Be sure to stop by Seasurf for some oysters, then the pier for ice cream. I'm definitely coming back for another ride! read more

Established in 2010.

We opened the shop in an abandoned railroad station at North Beach in San Clemente because we enjoy re-introducing visitors as well as residents to the fun of bicycling! We offer many types of bicycles for rent in addition to the standard beach cruiser. Electric Bikes offer a much appreciated assist up our local hills. At the other extreme is the ElliptiGo elliptical cycle - a more difficult workout than a road bike but with NO impact on joints. If you want to purchase a bike, we can offer expert advice what type of bike would suit you best. And we apply rental fees to the purchase price! We especially enjoy sharing our love of cycling with others. Our goal is to encourage fun on two wheels!

I have been riding bikes my whole life, recently more road biking than mountain biking but I enjoy both. I have been working here since 2012, I took over the business form Pete Van Nuys in 2022. Disappointing support from MURF Electric Bikes…read more I am writing this review to share my deeply disappointing experience regarding a premature battery failure on my MURF Electric Bikes e-bike. The bike has only 800 total miles on it and is just 3 months past the standard warranty expiration. For a component as critical and expensive as an e-bike battery, failing after only 800 miles points to a clear manufacturing defect or a faulty Battery Management System (BMS). When the battery stopped working, I took it to an independent local bike shop and spent $50 out of pocket to have it professionally diagnosed. Their conclusion was clear: the battery itself was defective, and my best bet was to take it directly back to the manufacturer, MURF Electric Bikes, at their San Clemente showroom where I originally purchased it. When I reached out to MURF Electric Bikes support, the initial response was highly disappointing. Adhering strictly to the calendar date rather than the incredibly low mileage, they initially only offered a 25% discount on a brand-new replacement battery. After a great deal of back-and-forth and pushback on my part regarding reasonable product lifespan expectations, they finally adjusted their offer to $550 plus tax for a replacement. While I appreciate that they eventually moved on the price, requiring a customer to spend over $550 out of pocket to fix a premium e-bike with only 800 miles on the odometer is unacceptable. A quality lithium-ion battery should easily last several thousand miles. Prospective buyers looking into MURF Electric Bikes should be aware that if a major component fails shortly after the warranty date--even with very minimal use--you may be left holding a significant bill for a replacement.

He went above and beyond the call of duty and ran to the Home Depot to obtain two extra 3/8" to 1/2" adapters (which were unexpected but required to finish the job that day) as I was hosting a party at my house the next day. Dedication and service like that are hard to find these days and I certainly appreciated his efforts! They had a look at my water heater and determined it needed to be replaced. We had been wanting to get a new tankless water heater for quite some time but my husband wanted to wait until we were in need of replacing our current hot water heater tank. Steve gave us a quote for replacing our current 75 gallon water heater with a tankless Navien model that would go in our garage in the same place as our old water heater. The price was fair and we agreed to go with the work. Later that morning Efficient Plumbing ordered our tankless water heater, delivered it, removed our old water heater and installed the new tankless water heater for us. They did an amazing job with all the necessary modifications to make the conversion from tank to tankless and we were thrilled with the end result. We now have endless hot water that we once never had. Efficient Plumbing has once again came to our rescue when we have been in need of a plumber! They are the best plumbers and I will continue working with them on any future projects or improvements that we may need.

This is any homeowners nightmare and I called Efficient Plumbing right away. We have used them for many years and sadly this wasn't our first water leak. Evelin answered the phone and walked me through on how to shut the water off to the house immediately to stop the water damage. Hector came out within the hour and got to work diagnosing our issue. He is knowledgeable and very experienced and we always feel like we are in good hands. Our ceiling was opened and it turned out to be a copper pin hole leak on the water line in the ceiling above the dining room that feeds our master bathroom. Hector skillfully repaired the water leak and also advised us to consider a whole house repipe since this was not our first leak. They gave us their estimate the same day for the whole house repipe and even offered to credit the repairs made with Hector towards the repipe which was a big help. We decided to move forward and had them repipe our whole house the following week. They got it done in one day and everything went great! A few days later the drywall was patched up and we were all done! There are many many plumbers in our area but after years of consistent quality workmanship and customer service, I only use and trust Efficient Plumbing.

I called one pest control company and they referred me to Recon Pest Control and told me recon uses better chemicals for my situation. So I call em and they send Tyler right out-no waiting. He knocks down spider webs, thoroughly sprays everywhere, problem solved. So then a month goes by and he returns to spray again but then we get hit with another crazy hot, triple digit heat wave and I find a few ants in my office again. Tyler comes right back and resprays the entire property a second time. Since then I haven't seen a bug in or around the house once. I usually see something, often around the pool area but nada. Even the dog's food bowls are left alone. After replacing the tile on my roof, some rats found their way into my attic. We'd hear their mating ritual echoing through the walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Called Recon and they sent Ryan out to set traps and seal the entry points. Problem solved instantly...subsequent inspections showed no sign of rodentia in our home. Insects and rodents...I don't mind them when camping in the backcountry but hate em around my home. Recon is the fast & affordable solution. My advice? Next time Mother Nature bugs you call the TERMINATORS at Recon Pest Control.
