Stick the place we go to for outdoor and shoe needs! As we continue our journey to this location,…read morewe will add our reviews. This is the only REI in the Tri-Cities of WA state.

I came here for one thing: a sun hat that I could wear on my next cruise since the last time I saw…read moremy dermatologist, he said I had to stay out of the sun. Yea, right, on a cruise? I need vitamin D3, says me. Back to The Hat. I had a couple of requirements for The Hat. It had to be a lighter color like tan, be packable, have a drawstring so that it didn't end up in the ocean, guarantee 50 SPF protection (in case my dermatologist is reading this), and be somewhat stylish (like that is possible), plus I didn't want to mortgage the house or sell a kidney. First stop on my shopping trip for The Hat: REI. Before I could even find the hat section though, I was sidetracked by the winter sale--mittens, scarves, hats, coats. I like to do my Christmas shopping early. Name brand stuff like North Face at low prices. Handed off those items to the hubby who was busy eyeing the snowshoes (maybe he is taking up a new hobby) and continued my quest for The Hat. I knew this place would have some great choices (I checked their online selection), brands like Columbia, Outdoor Research, and REI, of course. I found one full aisle (both sides) and a sale rack on the adjacent aisle full of potentials. I eventually chose one after some consultation with the hubby. It came from the sale rack, too! While purchasing the winter gear and The Hat, the clerk asked if we had a membership or if any member of the family had one. Sure, let's try a family member's name. Bingo. The clerk explained that attaching my purchase to a membership allows me to bring the items back within one year of purchase if not completely satisfied. There are other benefits (check the REI site for information).

Just bought another bike from B&L. And I read the other reviews, both good and bad. Here's the…read morething. Bikes, in the U.S., instead of truly being mainstreamed into our culture, still (especially on the Palouse) are still kind of a niche thing. The people that dedicate their life to cycle-culture in a part of the country that still kinda rejects it, are not going to be the standard issue. They're interesting, friendly, but also a little quirky. They're real people, and I'm glad of that every time I go into the store. If you want an upper end bike on the Palouse, with great service, and real personalities, this is the place. I think I'm on Bike #7 from them, and have been satisfied with every single one of them. Do I wish, sometimes, that there were greater choice? Yes. Am I glad, at least, that they are a distributor for Trek, most definitely one of the top brands? Yes. Do I recommend them all without reservation? Absolutely. Go in, get to know them, and buy a bike from them. It will definitely put you in your happy place!

Have bike trouble? Tough luck they are closed Sunday and Monday so I hope you have what you need…read more The selection is not great at all. Limited grip take, mostly e bikes for sale and little gear. The old guy who runs it won't even check you out. Opting instead to talk to his buddies while you stand there waiting to pay worse than retail prices. Multiple times I have had bike trouble and need a quick fix. But nope. It's the weekend, and B & L isn't open. I have to take time off work and school to make it to this bike store. I would trust REI more.
