Nolan went above and beyond helping my nephew with a bicycle. Customer service is important to an 8 year old (And his Auntie). The experience was super positive and he treated my nephew like a super star rolling out the red carpet and then telling him he was going to throw in a water bottle for his new purchase. It was a process selecting the right bike and Nolan was very patient, showing us everything that might work for my nephews upcoming junior triathlon. When we came back the second time Nolan said with a smile, "I just built a bike that is green. Do you want to see it?" I came to Walla Walla for a weekend of cycling only to discover that I had failed to check the charging level on my Di2 shifter and didn't bring my charger. I called Bicycle Barn and explained my issue. Before I could ask he said bring it in, we can set it up in the shop and charge it for you. Within an hour he had it charged enough for the weekend. He was helpful, understanding, and got it done! While waiting I walked around the shop. It was well organized with quality items, just what you would hope for in a bike shop. I observed friendly customer service. Adjacent to shop was an excellent coffee shop - a perfect combination. I'd be happy to come back anytime I'm in the area. read more

I just went into Bike Barn in Walla Walla and they were sickeningly rude to me, very condescending and arrogant. I am an older lady. I needed a part for my bike. I took lots of pictures of it because I can't lift the bike myself to bring it in. I explained why I was there, tried to show them the pictures, the guy took one look and cut me off mid sentence saying, we don't handle "those" bikes, and you need to bring it in, "WE DON'T DO HOUSE CALLS" and then walked off like I was no longer there. Why in the world would I load up my bike and take it back in to a place that says they don't handle "those" bikes and treat their elderly customers like shit. Unprofessional, uncaring and you know what, there are other places to do business. I am sick of rude behavior. read more

I left two bikes with them for an annual maintenance check. I paid $71 to service two bikes and replace a flat inner tube with a special puncture-proof one. When I got on one of the bikes the next day, the chain fell off. I put it back on and started pedaling and a block later, my front tire went flat. When I called, there was no apology, just the statement "well, I can't do anything about it until you bring it in". Fine. I brought it in and paid for another special inner tube, which they magnanimously installed for nothing (it took all of 2 minutes). Still no apology. The chain hasn't fall off again and so far, the tires have remained inflated. read more

Excellent bike shop. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and helpful, with none of the insufferable attitude you often see in bike mechanics. This is clearly not one of those shops that caters only to the speedy racers who have to put on their Spiderman pajamas every time they get on their bike. While waiting for my bike to get an emergency repair, I observed the staff interacting with a variety of people and honestly trying to work out the best solution for their needs. One was a girl who wanted a speedy bike, and she got it. Another was a handicapped man who needed a special adjustment to his bike, and they worked with him to get it done. btw I didn't hear any Christian music, but as we were leaving the owner came to ask if everything was okay, and left us with a "God bless!" Even a nonbeliever like myself can appreciate a traveler's blessing. read more

Bicycle barn is a nice place to go to get a bike, bike parts, or bike accessories. The store also adjoins with Dusty's Ski shop and that's nice because you can walk right into the skate shop. Both are great shops. I got my mountain bike from there with a reasonble price. I really enjoy the service and the fact that i was able to test the bike before i bought it. read more
