Better yet have an attorney look at the contract. I was negligent and naive and deeply regret it. Rock Solid owns you once you sign the contract and the 48 hours cancellation option passes. Fact - if you want to terminate the contract, whether they have started the job or not, you will be required to pay one third of the contract price. They will also want you to sign a non-disclosure so that you will not be able to say anything disparaging about their company. Luckily I was able to get this clause voided. How many others have been silenced. Thinking of taking legal action, you agree to pay all of their legal fees when you sign the contract. At $500.00 an hour and up, even if you win, you will lose financially. There is a list of excuses for not doing the job in a timely manner, and they are not afraid to use them. There are a multitude of excuses on the back of the contract for not doing the work and they used many of them on my job. Our contract did not show a completion date, which means they can string you out indefinitely and you have no recourse. I paid my one third termination fee and went with another contractor. Buyer Beware.

It was clear that they take great pride in their work, and they left my yard in perfect condition, cleaning up meticulously after the job was done. One wrench in the project was that I had an invisible fence line that ran through multiple areas of excavation, and I knew there was no chance that line wasn't going to be cut. The first thing I noticed right away is they actually answer their phone when they call so that was already a plus for me. I was able to schedule an estimate quickly and get someone out to help us address our main issue which was our kitchen not venting correctly, in addition to a fireplace that we would soon need because of the cold Detroit winter. As a new homeowner, we did want to make sure that the fireplaces were in good working condition before we actually started using them so we requested a estimate on what the service and maintenance could potentially be for the fireplaces that we had in our house and any recommendations that they would have. The process was very straightforward. They easily walked us through the quote and what was needed and why, in addition to what the current condition of the fireplace was in to what would need to be done and how it would fix the problem as well as what comes after the service what could be expected what they would be able to help us with should we come across any hiccups after the fireplace maintenance and what warranties came with the products that we purchased. We purchased dampers some gas fire logs, and had our fireplaces updated so that we could use them last winter. From there coming this winter, we assumed that we would have to have the fireplaces serviced again because it was a new year, though we only had a handful of fires in the living room fireplace they scheduled the appointment. They were prompt and scheduling, as well as coming out for service and transparent enough to say we haven't used our fireplace enough to fully warrant a cleaning. This was refreshing to see this type of honesty from a contractor. Then we ended up having an issue with the smoke coming into our house on our serviced fireplace. They were able to address solve an analyze, the reasons why the smoke was coming in to our living room, though everything looked up-to-date and ready to go. It was next level problem-solving skills that they would rarely run across because of the unique fireplace that we had in our Historic house. It was very appreciated that they did not just give up and ask us to spend a gazillion dollars to throw money at a problem. I contacted Unique Cement, based on a recommendation, at the end of the season expecting to start…read morethe project in the spring. They quickly returned my called and scheduled a consult with Anthony. I appreciated Anthony's professional opinion when it came to stamped concrete vs exposed aggregate and design choices. Based on my concerns, I chose 16'x24' exposed aggregate with custom built in flower boxes on the corners. After the quote, Peggy quickly reached out and advised that if I was able to get HOA approval, they may be able to schedule me before the end of the fall season. Surprisingly the approval process went quickly and Unique was able to start! The owner Jerry came to walk the site at the start to finalize plan and came to the site multiple times during the project. I even saw Jerry out there inspecting and smoothing concrete. If you have time, chat with Jerry, his family story is very interesting. The entire project took about a week, due to weather challenges, but I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Jerry said he wanted our patio to be the best in the subdivision, and he was right, it is beautiful! If you are looking for a fancy showroom or 3D renderings, this company isn't for you. If you want affordability, without sacrificing quality then Unique is absolutely for you. Everyone from Peggy, Anthony, Jerry and all the crew were great. Even more impressive was the attention to detail when cleaning each day. The crew made sure the property was thoroughly cleaned. I cannot say enough great things about this company.
