I'm not one to ever care what my luggage looks like but when you walk into this store you realize how stylish it can make you look. You know in movies when you see cool briefcases with some type of secret item locked away in them and you're like I want that briefcase (I do anyways) this place carries those. I am tempted to buy one even though I have nothing to put in it. The store has a good selection of luggage and travel accessories, and most are brand name.

Hip hip hooray! Parents and Moms-to-be rejoice! A 3rd location for Once Upon a Child opened up…read morelast year - this time in Sherwood Park. I had a chance to run in here last month while my daughter was at ski lessons and what a treat! Books were on clearance for $1 that day! YES - $1 books! Came home with a giant bag filled with books to overfill our already filled bookshelves! But hey, since when could one have too many books? Once Upon a Child is HANDS DOWN the best consignment store chain for used children's clothing and accessories. I've frequented them in Edmonton for several years now and even visited one in Saskatoon! You can drop off your gently used clothing and toys to trade in for store credit if you'd like as well. They offer a frequent purchaser stamp card to earn discounts and usually have coupons in the SUTP coupon book. They are on facebook and have an e-mail list if you would like advance notice for upcoming sales and specials! They also carry new items like Melissa & Doug at prices below what you would find at Toys R Us. Once Upon A Child is most definitely a dream come true for frugal shoppers who know that a baby outfit may get worn once or not at all!

The only time I saw an associate get excited was when her friend came in and then she blew air kisses to her before standing still again. Product selection decent with purses, totes, wallets, jewelry, clothing, and other accessories for 50-60% off and extra 20%. The clearance in the back was 70%. I have purchased a few wallets and a purse from this store and the transaction went pretty smoothly. But even those associates are often stoic. I'll continue to shop if I'm in the mall, but I have low expectations of any service.

Be sure to check out seasonal clear outs - you can even snag jackets and winter boots for 97 cents! What keeps us coming back to Old Navy are the toddler collectibles lines of t's like superheroes and hello kitty. At around $15 a piece, you can't go wrong! For adults, this is my go to store for tank tops and at least twice a year they have a sale on their tank tops for only $2! If you sign up on their website for e-mail notification you can get web only coupons and advance notice of sales!

Came by on a Saturday early evening to check out the Boxing Week deals. They had a sale of up to…read more75% off. The light fleece jackets were discounted 75% off but they weren't very thick and warm. The sale signs were confusing as some of the racks had a sign on one side but nothing on the other. I brought a top I wanted to the cash to find out the price and was happy that it was 75% off. I only got a men's button up shirt for 60% off and only $14. Good deals on lots of different types of clothes, quality isn't great but you get what you pay for. The sales associates were doing their best to organize and sort the clothes but there was items misplaced and a little disorganized. It would be great if they installed price checkers so it's easy to know the prices without bringing them to the cash. The store wasn't very busy which was great and it was after 6PM which could have made a difference. Most of the cash registers were open and there was less than 8 people in front of us so it moved fast. Often the Old Navy in WEM has a line up to the back of the store when there's a sale. I completed the survey on the receipt and my next purchase I will get 15% off.

On my shopping local this Christmas hit list was Gravity Pope. I don't know why I'd never been in…read morebefore but somehow now it's got Holy Roller next door, it feels more approachable. I've walked by the Gateway Boulevard shop window many times and admired the displays every time. Now I know the inside of the store is just as impressive. Gravity Pope is a YEG original and here to stay. Offering so many amazing designer goods that they somehow select with a unique individuality that really keeps the vibe of the store throughout. There are no bad items that drag down this places street cred. Even the sock are displayed on a cure washing line. They sell really funky sunglasses which my husband will love, I can't wait to take him with me next time. Really smart, fashionable street and work wear for bold Edmontonians. I love it.

I think I'm a bigger fan of Gravity Pope shoes than I am of their clothing branch. They are…read moregenerally expensive to begin with, but the prices of their clothes are just ridiculously up there. I mean, $65 for a pair of nylon socks, are you kidding me? Most of their items are different from what you see at other stores, but I'm still not sure it's worth the price. They carry high-end designer brands such as Betsey Johnson and Hugo Boss. There is a wide selection in jeans, which include the Diesel brand. I think I saw some Diesel underwear for guys too ... Gravity Pope Tailored Goods also sells colognes and perfumes, along with a matching line of scented candles. The candles smelled really nice (especially the dark rum and mochito), but again, I didn't bother checking the price because I saw no point. The shop is fairly large, with another half extending past a ramp. They've got the old wooden floors that creak, and really creepy-looking dummies on either side of the entrance at the ramp. They were also playing creepy music when I was there, but I guess that's beside the main point. Maybe if most of the items weren't made in either China or Turkey, I would consider buying something on sale. But since they are, it's not even worth an exclusive Betsey Johnson dress, in my opinion.

Some of their sales items are decent but I don't understand why they charge so much in the first place. $40 for a t-shirt? Really?! I could understand (but not condone) it if Aritzia was a big, prestigious brand name, but they're not. I like the way the store is set up. It's pretty practical and easy to navigate. I don't like how they make you put your stuff in lockers when you try stuff on though. I realize that it probably prevents any kind of shoplifting but it's just inconvenient and, let's be honest, weird. Aritzia is OK. It's not my favorite store but I will stop in to browse every once in awhile.

One girl in particular at this location named Hannah was an absolute angel! I pulled lots of items myself and she added some to my dressing room as well. I didn't feel that need to up-sale pressure from her, it felt like she was genuinely showing me pieces I may have missed myself or that she thought I would like. I was also grateful because she was super helpful with putting items on hold for my mom to go pick up later as my birthday gift! Sadly there was one piece I couldn't find in the store so she wrote it down and mentioned to my mom how they could special order it to the store so I could pick it up once it arrived in the store. Of course, my mom thought that was a great idea and went forward with it and stuck the receipt I needed in the gift bag along with everything else. Well later we got the email stating it had arrived and right away I drove all the way to the west end from Sherwood Park and I had forgotten the receipt I needed to pick up the shirt my mom had special ordered for me. I felt like a complete idiot but luckily the girls at the counter reassured me that if someone at home could send me a picture of it that would be totally acceptable as well. So in the end I got everything I wanted and had an excellent experience at this location. Once again I just want to say thank you to Hannah for all the help she gave me!
