Rushes to check me out--Sunday evening, not busy. I put in my phone number and it was the wrong number. I told him I need to try another number. He proceeds to tell me he can't do it and rings up my groceries without changing my number. I told him I wanted to input the right number in. He proceeds to tell me I've got to go the main desk to get my number applied. He made no attempt to get help and learn how to make the change. I had to take my food to the front desk. Eventually got the right number in at the front desk 15 minutes later and saved about $3.50 because of being a frequent buyer. Just to add something else there was an older couple in front of me and when he gave them their change back, there were penny's involved. He ran out. He made no effort to call someone to get change he just asked them if they cared. They said no but he shouldn't have even asked. Look this kid seemed arrogant and like he didn't care. He should never be working a checkout. He'd be better off stocking shelves!! He needs better training. Very sad that hasn't been trained better. Disappointed.

I've had to stop buying the roasted chicken salad from the prepared foods area. THREE times I've bitten into a bone. I've spoken to the manager twice and they always refund and give me a pound free. But I'd rather have them supervise the staff so they do a better job with my favorite item so I wouldn't be afraid to bite into the sandwich. They also have a LOT of wasted items. We went in there just before closing one night and witnessed them throwing away huge amounts of perfectly fine, wonderful food. I know this is an industry issue but it distressed us to see the waste, especially in Georgetown County.

My only word of advice would be to be very careful in the parking lot, especially if you're there over the course of a holiday, as it's packed pretty tight and there are people (including kids) walking everywhere. We looked around but did not see any. Before leaving, we noticed a buggy full of dirty balls that looked like they had been through the ringer. A staff member came out & asked if we needed help. He said the balls were for sale, but he needed to clean them & blow them up. So....my friend pick out a few of them & he cleaned them & pumped them back up for her. 1 of them had a leak & instead of selling it to her, he told her & had her pick a different one. I appreciated that because he could have lied. And instead of making us go get in line behind a bunch of people, he checked us out, which was also appreciated. I mean....I don't usually expect much from Dollar General, but that staff member was very helpful.
