ALDI, Myrtle Beach

More snacks this time and we found lots. Sliced meats, cheeses, and now we need some paper plates. All very inexpensive. I've shopped a good few ALDIs lately and love them. You just have to be aware of what you're getting and how they keep the prices down. Limited variety of brands and not a lot of big brand names. There isn't a big staff. At the checkout, they don't bag your groceries and the bags aren't free. You'll need to either buy bags or bring your own reusable bags. You also need to remember to bring a quarter for your shopping cart deposit. [Review 14320 overall, 1644 of 2020, number 699 in South Carolina.]

Usually the best prices in town! Wide variety of goods and food items, but don't EXPECT the same items constantly.

You cannot beat this place for organic vegetables and fruit. Lots of very nice healthy snacks. Great prices on the organic milk and cream.

Great store. Crabby checkout clerks. This location is notorious for crabby female clerks

Donahue Brothers Produce Stand

Stopped there to buy a few things but when I got home discovered the vegetables and bags from the…read morestand smelled like cigarette smoke . had to peel off all the cucumber and other skins off other items because after washed they still smelled like cigarettes. The owner and workers there are all smokers obviously smoking while they are working in the small stand . Also I noticed there was not a scoop for the boiled p nuts that had holes in it to drain all the water from the p nuts that are floating in the water that they were boiled in so when they are weighed in the bag you scooped them into you are paying for the water weight and the p nuts that had been left in the big barrel where they sat all day were then thrown in with the new ones being boiled the next day . Very Disappointed and the woman working there seemed kinda out of it . Probably won't be back there ! A life long non smoker

This is a small produce stand, open until 7, with a limited selection of mostly local fruits and…read morevegetables, plus hot boiled peanuts and one size of shrimp. They have the best ripe, juicy peaches all summer, from a farm in Johnson, SC. They often have good blackberries and melons. Sometimes they have the heirloom tomatoes and really sweet grape or cherry tomatoes; they always have the standard type. The cucumbers and many other items seem to have more flavor than the ones at most grocery stores. They pack a lot into a small space and usually have watermelons, cantaloupes, blackberries, vidalia onions, okra, eggplant, peppers, squash, zucchini, potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes and yams. They have a fridge in the back with hulled beans and peas. They also have a small selection of jams and relishes. You may be able to buy produce by the case as well if you have a larger need. I wish they had herbs, especially parsley and basil (they rarely have some basil). I did not care for their shrimp, as the ones I got were not the freshest and parts were mealy. They have the shrimp pre-portioned in ziplock bags in a small cooler, so there is no way to know which bags are fresher than others. But I come by nearly daily as I am addicted to their peaches in particular! And there is a Twice the Ice, drive-by, 24 hour vending machine right next to them. You get 20 lbs of ice for $2.00 for the bulk rate. Bring your own heavy-duty garbage bag or cooler for the bulk rate. You get 16 lbs when dispensed by the bag. I'm told by the current owners that this business used to be called Donahue Brothers Produce many years ago, but has been King's Produce for a long time. So Yelp needs to change the information listed. Sometimes they do close a little early if it's slow. And I think they are totally closed in the winter months.
