Friendly staff, great food, great vegan options Ate lunch here with a large group of vegan friends, selected because they have vegan options. We were planning on sitting outside in their great outdoor area but the chilly November wind changed our minds. Because we were a group, I called the manager the month before and the day before. The manager was polite and helpful and assured me they would be ready for us inside or out. Once there the manager came over and introduced herself to the group and made sure everyone was taken care of. The staff were friendly and prompt. The menu is clear on what items are vegan so ordering is super easy. We had the vegan Ruben and all day burrito. Delicious. The others in our group had the lentil soup or lentil burger and everyone loved their order. We all had dessert, just over the top delicious! And they have desserts to go, too!!! This small natural store has a very large selection of supplements and tons of different oats, seeds, nuts and other various products in dispensers. There is a small restaurant in the back that had some very tasty looking dishes being served and it made me sad that I had already eaten before arriving. This place is awesome. It was super last minute to stop here because we had just finished a workout and wanted a quick breakfast. Walking in, I thought I was in wrong building because it seemed more like a store than restaurant, but I didn't realize it was a full nature food and health store with a restaurant in the back. I have recently started getting more into natural items and watching what Ingredients and type of things I put in my body, and this store was super cool to get some ideas on positive switches and things to try. I ordered the açaí bowl and sat on patio for them to bring it out. I will say, it did take a decent amount of time to get the food, but luckily we were not in a hurry. The patio itself is super nice and shaded for a hot day. The açaí bowl was so good. It felt so fresh and refreshing. We lived in Vermont until recently and had easy access to locally sourced food and natural products . Moving to SC , one of our concerns was finding another place like what we left behind . We are so grateful for Bay Natural ! They carry our favorite toothpaste , supplements , grains and legumes in bulk , every spice I can imagine and the list goes on . The deli . This town needs more natural/organic/healthy food options like Bay Naturals! Our entire family flew in to Myrtle Beach because we had a family member that was in the hospital. Thank Godness there is a health food store less than .5 mile away because we seem to be surrounded by fried foods at every turn in this town. This is my favorite place!!! I absolutely love it! What a fresh food and how conveniently located. One might argue about the coziness of this place inside the grocery store but I love it! We happened to visit during farmer's market and had a pleasure purchasing some farm veggies and fruits. My favorite food is soup with a chicken salad sandwich. They use vegenaise and high quality bread. If you are dairy free/vegan, it is definitely something you will appreciate! Everything is exceptionally fresh! This place is really nice and they have everything my partner needs to fit her dietary restrictions. While we don't do all of our grocery shopping here (it isn't cheap), we still can get a lot of the special items here to fit our complex diets. The prepared food is very good too, we have had both smoothies and juices from here that were very good and all natural. I had a bowl of soup, which changes from day to day, so try to mix it up and come different days to try them. Although it was a little pricey, it was was worth it. What a find!!!! Healthy food that actually tastes GREAT!!! My coworker referred me to this store/restaurant for healthier choices. The front of the store is full of goodies, GF items, sugar free, lotions, soaps and oils and the back is a restaurant. I have only had the chicken Caesar wrap and cucumber quinoa salad and It's amazing. They make their own dressing which is absolutely delicious (not too salty or garlicky) and has great flavor. The chicken is also lightly seasoned and is accompanied with fresh lettuce, tomato and cheese. It's so absolutely well made and delicious! It's def my go-to for lunch! They have HYDRATE High PH 9 water, which is made in the good ole USA and is a veteran owned company! Tastes great and the best way to hydrate!!! I have yet to try their LONG list of smoothies too. Ooo! I love this place! We've only purchased the chocolate donuts, but today we walked on the wild side! We ordered a carrot cake and the chocolate roll cake. Oh my goodness... we couldn't even finish them! They were absolutely delicious, but I wanted to make sure I had some for later. Everything is vegan and gluten free except for the cinnamon rolls. It's so refreshing to find a bakery that caters to our family's allergies. Angela? Lady who works up front just treated me to the worst customer service experience I have had since moving here. They have a lot of essential oils on the shelf as you walk in and I came in to buy some as a gift for my wife. It is a hodgepodge mess, some are open to smell, others are in a box. I opened a eucalyptus one and she immediately came over and angrily confronted me that that particular one was not to be opened. I told her I would buy it just to avoid drama, so when I checked out I commented that there was no sign as to what was openable and what wasn't. She couldn't resist one last jab, "Some things are just common sense". My wife and I have eaten there every week for some time, but I will never set foot in this place again. I always order the bay chef salad with dill chicken salad and ginger dressing, or the dill chicken salad sandwich with a side of beef slaw. Their cucumber water is SO refreshing! Best cucumber water I've ever had. This visit, I decided to try their 3 bean chili. It was really flavorful. All of their food tastes homemade. The dill chicken salad is light and perfect! The beet slaw is SO good and has apples and pecans in it. Everything tastes very healthy. I always go to the cold case and see what they have. I got pimento cheese this time, and it was delicious. Their bay chef salad is phenomenal. I particularly love the shredded beets, avocado and sprouts that are in it. The ginger dressing is the freshest tasting ginger dressing ever. *CELIACS WARNING * I really hate this has to be my first review on Yelp , But I feel like it has to be said. As a warning for any of my other fam with celiacs who might make the same mistake I made . If you have celiac disease please be careful when eating at this establishment, the woman who takes orders is completely incompetent and can not do her job properly . I've been eating here for about two weeks traveling for work and everyday I would order the same sandwiches tuna fish or chicken salad and I made it very clear for two weeks I was gluten free and I have celiacs disease . My order was correct for two weeks and I had no stomach pain until I ate there on Wednesday December 15th . I made the same order I've been making for the past two weeks ( I made sure I ordered the Gluten Free tuna fish sandwich) As she was already well aware at this point I was gluten free she forgot to add it . I didn't realize the bread wasn't gluten free until half way through eating it when I notified one of the cooks and he made it clear to me the bread was whole wheat ... When I told him I ordered gluten free the woman who took my order came over to me and made excuses for her mistake and couldn't even take responsibility for her messing up which is completely egregious . If you are visiting the beach and you have severe food allergies like myself, please do not make the same mistake I made. This establishment should hire better more knowledgeable people to work here since it's a health food store/restaurant you think they would hire people with the right credentials, apparently not so which is very concerning for people with severe food allergies . Where do I begin? My wife has many food sensitivities and I searched Yelp for gluten-free and only 1 place came up in Myrtle Beach. She is Dairy and Gluten sensitive and tends not to eat sugar or meat. We had breakfast here the first day and she fell in love. I was even able to eat comfortably and I am not that much of a health nut. We ate here 3 or 4 times over the course of 3 days, and she was always able to try new great things for her. Their vegan gluten free pumpkin muffins actually tasted good she said. She makes gluten free baked goods at home and it's never very good. This was an awesome surprise. A touch pricier than an average restaurant but is reasonable considering the natural ingredients they use. The staff is friendly and they are very willing to answer questions about the dishes and they even went out of their way to take a dish that wasn't gluten free and we came up with a way to make it gluten free so she could try it. I wish we had a store like this near us in Atlanta. Anyone even slightly interested in health food, or with sensitive dietary needs must visit here. This place is just all around awesome. The food is a little pricey and the taxes in this touristy location are a bit high but the food is amazing! I like to get a green smoothie or a juice along with their house made lentil soup and the chef's salad and tempeh. I love this combination so much and go in frequently to get it. They have daily specials and monthly smoothie specials, depending on the season. The customer service here is great and they also provide veterans with a discount if you ask. The baked goods are usually vegan, gluten free or a combination of Both. There's something for everyone here. They're located in a great location only about two blocks from the beach in Myrtle Beach and have plenty of customer parking. Meh, I was rather underwhelmed by the food and service at their restaurant. The man working the register and taking orders wasn't inviting at all-not rude or anything-just not welcoming. The wait-the first thing we were told approaching the register was it is currently a 25 minute wait for food. No big deal but not how I would ideally great a customer roles were reversed. It did take the whole 25 minutes plus a couple of minutes for 2 acai bowls. The bowls were smaller than similarly priced acai bowls that I've had in the area. The food itself was good but the whole experience was lackluster. There are better options nearby that I'll go to instead next time. read more
