Appointments were easy to schedule, they were able to get my child in pretty quickly for appointments, Dr. Muth really got my child to open up and talk, and she took the time to talk to us and come back with books and little trinkets to keep us entertained. Best of all, they understand that we have lives and the wait in between the LVN working with us and the Doctor was really short, I wasn't sitting in the room waiting for hours. I also saw that they have other offices that are open on weekends, just in case you need something on weekends. Finally a place that makes you feel like they care about your children just as much as you do.

However, depending on your…read moreassigned primary provider, it can be difficult to see the same person for annual wellness visits. This makes it challenging to build a consistent relationship and can feel impersonal. In one case, a pediatrician refused to prescribe an antidepressant for my child, despite her long-term therapist recommending it after other approaches had been exhausted. We had been actively addressing her care, but her depression was worsening. The situation was framed as though I was pushing for medication, which was not accurate--I was responding to clear signs of distress and her own requests for help. The pediatrician spoke with my daughter alone for approximately five minutes and appeared to make a decision based on that brief interaction. My daughter later shared that she felt uncomfortable, unheard, and somewhat led in her responses. Her condition worsened significantly, spiraling into SEVERE DEPRESSION and SELF HARM. While the provider was kind, the approach felt dismissive of parental input. It gave the impression that a brief interaction was given more weight than the insight of those more familiar with my daughter's history.

I was honestly shocked by the cost of a very routine visit here. After insurance, we were still…read morecharged $345 per child for a simple ear infection appointment. For two kids, that came out to $690 out of pocket. This wasn't a complicated visit, no special testing, just a standard pediatric diagnosis and treatment. Being charged that amount after insurance feels excessive and out of touch with what most families can reasonably afford. At these rates, it's hard to justify coming here for common childhood illnesses. The care itself was fine, but pricing matters. I would strongly recommend asking very specific questions about costs upfront, even if you have insurance, so you're not caught off guard like we were.

We came in for a well visit for our daughter and discussed a few items with our doctor one of which was stomach issues which she was having for a few weeks to that point. Since this was a large concern of ours we asked for a CAT scan just to make sure everything is okay. Again this may be overboard possibly but we just want to make sure nothing major is going on. The doctor deterred our concern and said it will likely go away and the CAT scan isn't necessary. Well it's been over a month since that visit and our daughter is still complaining about her stomach. I call in to the office to get a referral at this point and what does the doctor say. We need to come in for another appointment and not only that but the representative said the stomach issues weren't even noted in her medical records. Im a business owner myself and to me this seems like a bit of a cash grab considering they're requiring another visit to discuss something we've already talked about (though apparently we didn't?? Hmm). One other cash grab item that disturbed me last visit was a cholesterol scan they 'recommended' but no one told us the results until we asked?? Again I just don't like the professionalism and not sure i understand the motives. Is it actually my kids health or is it what's best to benefit the corporation?

We had a pediatrician picked out prior to delivery (9 months ago), but after my c section they mentioned that the dr we chose was no longer taking new patients.. so they scheduled us a pediatrician. After our sons first check up (with the assigned Dr) a few days after we left the hospital, I had that new motherly gut instinct that this was not the dr, nor the office I wanted to bring my child to for the next 10 years. I went on yelp to find a Dr. immediately after that appointment and came across Carmel Valley Pediatrics. Our first appointment with Dr. D was amazing. She was so sweet, nurturing and really made me feel comfortable as a new mom! She always has time for questions, and as new parents we ask tons of dumb questions and she's always is so sweet and so helpful and makes us feel so supported. I can not say enough good things about her and the other ladies in the office. I get so excited to go in and visit them! Not to mention my little guy loves the office, the staff and Dr. D. So so so happy we found this office. Couldn't be happier!!!
