In one case, a pediatrician refused to prescribe an antidepressant for my child, despite her long-term therapist recommending it after other approaches had been exhausted. We had been actively addressing her care, but her depression was worsening. The situation was framed as though I was pushing for medication, which was not accurate--I was responding to clear signs of distress and her own requests for help. The pediatrician spoke with my daughter alone for approximately five minutes and appeared to make a decision based on that brief interaction. My daughter later shared that she felt uncomfortable, unheard, and somewhat led in her responses. Her condition worsened significantly, spiraling into SEVERE DEPRESSION and SELF HARM. While the provider was kind, the approach felt dismissive of parental input. It gave the impression that a brief interaction was given more weight than the insight of those more familiar with my daughter's history.

For two kids, that came out to $690 out of pocket. This wasn't a complicated visit, no special testing, just a standard pediatric diagnosis and treatment. Being charged that amount after insurance feels excessive and out of touch with what most families can reasonably afford. At these rates, it's hard to justify coming here for common childhood illnesses. The care itself was fine, but pricing matters. I would strongly recommend asking very specific questions about costs upfront, even if you have insurance, so you're not caught off guard like we were.

She truly hears you and works with you in a realistic manor which I prefer. I come to the lab one floor above as well and they go quickly even when there are others in que. Which works well for this fasting diabetic. Although I have terribly invisible veins, they do draw from the area I point to and always have success. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would for the wonderful phlebotomists that work here. Not once have they tortured me trying to draw blood. Unless something changes dramatically, I'll continue frequenting Scripps.

The spaces are pretty cramped everywhere, so trying to get your door fully opened to get to baby's carseat can be a challenge. It was our first visit here to the new location, and so far so good!

We came in for a well visit for our daughter and discussed a few items with our doctor one of which was stomach issues which she was having for a few weeks to that point. Since this was a large concern of ours we asked for a CAT scan just to make sure everything is okay. Again this may be overboard possibly but we just want to make sure nothing major is going on. The doctor deterred our concern and said it will likely go away and the CAT scan isn't necessary. Well it's been over a month since that visit and our daughter is still complaining about her stomach. I call in to the office to get a referral at this point and what does the doctor say. We need to come in for another appointment and not only that but the representative said the stomach issues weren't even noted in her medical records. Im a business owner myself and to me this seems like a bit of a cash grab considering they're requiring another visit to discuss something we've already talked about (though apparently we didn't?? Hmm). One other cash grab item that disturbed me last visit was a cholesterol scan they 'recommended' but no one told us the results until we asked?? Again I just don't like the professionalism and not sure i understand the motives. Is it actually my kids health or is it what's best to benefit the corporation?

Her office is clean, has a ton of cool toys (which are also clean) for kids to play with, and a HUGE TV in the waiting room. Her staff is very pleasant and welcoming as well. My daughter hates the doctor (as most 2 year olds do lol) and this was the first time she didn't cry once at a doctor's visit! I brought my little one in because she had a bad cough and low grade fever. From the very beginning Dr. Neves was incredibly kind, gentle and incredibly patient with my daughter. I have felt rushed in the past with her previous pediatrician. She also was very prompt. My daughter warmed up to her immediately because Dr. Neves let her play with her ear scope and even had a couple toys in her lab coat pockets! My daughter really liked that Dr Neves let her use the tools on her first before she examined my daughter. She was incredibly thorough and in order for her to check my daughter's lungs she had a pinwheel in the exam room and had my daughter blow on it to make it spin. I was SUPER impressed by that (I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years!). She also had to do a throat culture and I thought for sure my little one would cry but she was so gentle and fast it was over quick! She was so sweet, nurturing and really made me feel comfortable as a new mom!
