For a year whenever we had a heavy rain I noticed rain seeping beneath the basement shower. It was…read morea fiberglass shower stall that was lifted off the floor just a little bit. I would mop it up and it wouldn't cause any large problems. We decided it was time to have this fixed since it seemed to be getting worse. I got three estimates and theirs was the best for the job. The team removed the shower stall to put in a drain along one whole wall of my house. Thankfully the rest of the wall is in an unfinished portion of the basement so it didn't affect any of the finished portion other than the shower in the bathroom. They came on time and worked quickly. They were done before the estimated time and left the basement clean. For the past 15 days we have had rain every single day. Sometimes heavy, sometimes light but I have been watching the basement and there isn't any moisture coming in at all. They definitely did a great job. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to my friends.

They promised they would not break through asbestos tiles, but instead carefully lift them. They blasted right through the asbestos tiles requiring us to talk to a remediation company and do a safety clean up (though they insisted that wasn't necessary when we complained and accused us of trying to bleed them for unnecessary expenses -- we had not even asked them for a dime, and they were the ones who broke an explicit promise to us). They left open gaps in the cement after covering the french drain that we had to have addressed after they left (after confirming with this company that they would not accuse us of voiding the warranty if we did) and totally destroyed the efficacy of our radon mitigation sytem, which they said nothing to us about when inspecting the site to provide their workplan and estimate before the install. They claimed not to see it, but the radon system has bright red labels all over it and was in plain sight for both the inspection and while the guys were doing the work. Ray Charles would have seen it. So, we've had to pay more to address that. Insult to injury, our security system picked up one of their guys looking through our stuff in the basement, and when we complained about that, the owner made implicit threats about how we would ruin a relationship in which we may need them to come make repairs to our system in the future if we told anyone about it. As others have mentioned, he also offered us $100 to not post bad reviews. We didn't take the money, but others might, so careful on relying on reviews for this company. Spare yourselves. Go with someone else.

Mike DeGirolamo - the owner - during his assessment provided step-by-step explanation of what needed to be done to address this issue. He was very thorough and clear in his explanations. He did not try to 'upsell' or include items that were not necessary. Prior to work starting a timeline was provided. Timeline detailed team arriving over the course of 3 days and what to expect during this time. The Triad team - Michael, Justin and Roberto - arrived as scheduled on their assigned days. Before starting work for that day they again went over every detail of what they would be doing. Master plumber Justin Dorrier was amazing in his handling of the plumbing side of this process. His attention to detail and explanations clearly showed his professionalism and knowledge as a master plumber. I did much research and obtained multiple estimates from about 5-6 different waterproofing companies before selecting Triad. Triad was by far the company I was most impressed with. I highly recoommend Triad Basement and Waterproofing if you have any waterproofing needs. They are all (Mike, Tracey, Michael, Justin and Roberto) true professionals at what they do and were a pleasure to work with --- I wish I could give them 10 stars! Thank-you Triad Team!

I contacted Value Dry via a contractor referral site where they had excellent reviews to waterproof…read moreour basement & install an egress window in our basement. It took them days to respond. That was the first red flag. When they did respond via the referral app, they said "Good morning, Thank you for reaching out to Value Dry Waterproofing, unfortunately we have been unable to reach you but will keep trying..." No one from Value Dry tried to reach me. That was the first real contact from them. According to the referral site, all contact should be done via the referral portal for everyone's protection. When I spoke to the person to make an appointment, they insisted that "all homeowners" be present for the inspection & that we needed to set aside 2.5 hours for it. They would not make the appointment unless we were willing to commit to those conditions. So Shane, their inspector came by, showed us movies to explain everything, then spent roughly 1.5 hours looking things over then measuring & drawing diagrams & working up a proposal. Then he sat me down to explain it all, go over the proposal & answer any questions. His initial "MSRP", that's what he called it, was for $31,085.25. When I balked, he quickly started lowering the price. For the egress window & well the price was $20,000!! He offered to price match any other offer we obtained for the waterproofing, which he managed to lower near $8,000 because we didn't want this or that or absolutely need this or that. I felt like I was at a car dealership & negotiating the price & options for a new car. Shane left me feeling like he was more interested in up selling us, than helping us solve our problems. He could fix our basement water issues but the priority was profit. Shane arrived promptly at 4:00pm & left at 7:30pm. We were flabbergasted that this company had so much time & effort to spend on this. Again, it reminded me of the time and effort it takes to purchase a car. Too much time, too much money, & I felt kind of abused by this company by the time Shane left. Guess what, we aren't hiring them. Caveat Emptor!! UPDATE: We have since hired another company that came in after Value Dry (see my other reviews to see who we hired) and they have excellent reviews (not just from me). Their salesman did a thorough evaluation, explained everything, offered a larger scope of work (comparing apples to apples) without trying to sell fancy unneeded add ons. Their price was still thousands of dollars lower than Value Dry. Their guys did excellent work. Whatever defense the Owner of Value Dry gives & does not want me to judge them by price or the amount of time their salesman (who was a gentleman) wasted, it ALL figures into a review. So again, caveat emptor or as Sy Sims used say "An educated consumer, is our best customer!"
