I had water leaking into the lower wall and floor of my home's basement. After receiving visits from multiple companies, I'll say that All Aspects stood out exceptionally. Jeff Basham identified the issue within 5 minutes and explained to me that the fix was very simple and did not require any remedy from a waterproofing/drainage/foundation company. Other companies who visited my home spent approximately an hour inspecting the property without being able to identify the issue that Jeff did. Rather they sent me ~$10,000 quotes to install the solutions/remedies that their companies offered. If I ever have an issue again, I will call Jeff - he was both astute and honest, which are the most important things when selecting a partner to help with your home. read more

All Aspects installed a sump pump in our basement last month (May 2024). Upon arrival, the head contractor asked where we would like to install the pump. I asked for his recommendation and he advised that it be installed in a far corner of the basement. At no time did anyone mention that this particular location would require a new electrical outlet or that we would be responsible for the outlet installation. If we had known that an additional outlet would be required, we would have selected a location that did not require a new outlet. It was not until the work was completed that All Aspects told us that 1) we had to hire and pay for an electrician to install a new outlet, and 2) the sump pump inspection could not be completed until this was done. When I followed up with All Aspects about the above, they acknowledged that the sales person should have clarified the outlet installation process verbally and in writing. So, All Aspects admitted that they did not communicate well but are seemly unwilling to rectify the situation. Based on this experience, I would not recommend using All Aspects for sump pump installation. read more

We contacted them for an estimate of mold removal and encapsulation of our crawl space. When we called them to schedule something, they immediately tried to up-sell us and convince us we needed to install a sump pump without ever actually looking at our crawl space. None of the other companies that came to give estimates mentioned needing a sump pump. The representative who came looked at the crawl space, gave her thoughts and said that she would send an estimate the next day. Never heard back from her or the company, so I guess they will not be getting our business. Editing to respond to the business owner's response- we did have a representative at All Aspects come to our house and it was probably under my husband's name as he did the communication. However the lack of initial response and the immediate defensiveness of the owner's response is clear enough. There's a lot of competition in this area for home improvement, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere and will recommend that others do as well. read more

All Aspects Waterproofing (AAW) provides an excellent service from the beginning to the end. I had a leak in the basement and called 3 companies, including AAW, to check it out. Robert Ellis from AAW came in to check the problem and did a thorough inspection. He also provided me with information on most common wet basement problems. Robert is a very nice guy and knows his stuff. He gave a courtesy call on the day of the appointment and walked me through exactly what his company would do if I were to use its service. He then gave me a quote after his visit. After looking at the quotes and reviews of the companies I called, I made a decision to go with AAW although it did not offer the lowest quote. I finally set up another appointment with Robert for a final check up. On the scheduled date, Frankie and his crew came on time and did a great job on installing the pump and the window wells. They are very professional and honest. They did their work timely and left my basement clean. I would highly recommend AAW for your basement needs. read more

I wish I could give them a better review because the final product seems good, but the process was not. The first week of July, we had half the back wall of our basement waterproofed, and a second sump installed. The salesman came to our house twice (once with my husband, and the second time when we were both home) and was there for a couple of hours each time, explaining everything in great detail. He offered a 5% discount if I wrote them a review (we were getting $5000 worth of work, so of course I wrote the review). However, he wanted me to write the review by hand on an Angie's List form while he watched, at the same time we were signing a contract for the work and giving him a deposit. I thought this was rather unorthodox since we hadn't had any work done yet. Nevertheless, I was happy with the interaction so far, and based my review on the salesman. The salesman told us we could save some money by excavating and installing window wells ourselves ahead of time. We already had one 12 inch well installed but we needed another. So during this process of doing it ourselves I emailed the salesman (he referred to himself as an inspector, which I don't doubt, so I figured he would know the answer to my question) to ask if we should do 12, 18, or 24 inch steel wells. I didn't hear back from him for a couple days so I ended up putting in 18s just to be safe. He then responded that he didn't think the size mattered, 12-18 inches should be fine, and he wouldn't recommend going any bigger than 18 - perfect. The day the crew came to start work, the foreman said our 18 inch wells were too shallow and he couldn't guarantee his work unless we put in 24s. After a bit of back and forth, he relented. The workers were excellent - they did not mess around or take breaks, and got the job done within 6 hours (we were quoted 1-2 days). My biggest complaint is that they used an industrial stapler to adhere protective plastic sheeting to my newly painted walls. When they left, they ripped the plastic off and left at least 5 staples in the walls. The staples they did remove took little chunks of sheet rock with them (see attached pictures). So now I have to repair and repaint the walls. Additionally, they had the audacity to staple into my expensive custom wooden mantelpiece! I understand that they want to protect the house from concrete dust, but they could've used tape, or discussed it with us first. The other thing that made me think there is a big disconnect in communication between the salespeople and the crew, was the "air filtration system that removes the dust from the house via a large hose during the work" is basically a big fan (no hose) that blew the dust away from where they were working, down to the other rooms in my basement, towards an open back door, from 15 feet away. They also didn't bring enough gravel to sufficiently fill the window wells, so we had to buy a few extra bags at Lowes after they left (at their recommendation). One of the most annoying parts is I am now on the Angie's List mailing distribution, because I sold my soul for 5% off. It hasn't rained sufficiently to know how effective the system is, but I have faith in the final product. read more

Had an inside foundation drain installed -- 55 ft in December 2021. Jeff Basham did initial inspection and problem analysis -- very, very knowledgeable and helpful. The price was reasonable and the work was completed very professionally. The crew was on time, very courteous, and the cleanup was excellent. County permit was handled with no action by me. Protective plastic curtaining kept dust to a very minimum and all debris was carried out and disposed of. Zoeller pump is very well rated and should be very satisfactory. Every single staff member i dealt with was responsive, willing to get an answer (if they didn't themselves know the answer), punctual, polite, hard working, fast in their execution of the job, took care to minimize their disruption to the rest of our house, and went above and beyond their described effort. Here's the job they did for us: After attempting many other, less-involved approaches for fixing our leaky basement, we approached All Aspects Waterproofing, based on the strong recommendation of our neighbor who had used them. We needed - and they carried out - installing a 'french drain' channel around our basement's perimeter (inside the basement) which emptied into a sump pump. Their work finally fixed our wet basement issues. More importantly though as I said above, every single team member from their company i dealt with was outstanding in every way. Originally 1 star, after the work was done I had the same problem and they said they weren't responsible. I posted a negative review then the owner contacted me (thanks, Yelp!) and has worked diligently to solve the problem. Installed a french drain and pump for about $5k, had some concerns about the install (wanted to go all the way up to ground level with the barrier) and, in hindsight, should have been adamant but they insisted they knew what they were doing. Repair manager said they normally always do it the way I described, so maybe it was just a bad project for them. Regardless, the fact that the owner has personally ensured that the project will be finished correctly is satisfactory in my book. But be sure to get everything in writing (should be common sense but I'm a small-town kid). read more

I researched before signing a contract and believed All Aspects (AA) to be a reputable company. Verdict is out on that in my mind now but in any event, my experience with them was unacceptable and unprofessional. Salesman came out to assess the situation and really did a good job selling AA. He talked about how their work is covered by a dry basement certificate backed up by the state of MD and Montgomery County. When I tried to research and confirm, he backed off that statement saying that they would provide a certificate that is sometimes required by lenders. Much different than what he talked up in person which should have been a huge red flag. Back to the in person sales call, the salesman eventually advised that I needed to add a drainage system with two sump pumps to the basement. During the in person walk through, I mentioned that I would be finishing the basement and he said "great, I will include taking the "waffle board" up near ground level then since it will be covered." When we walked around the exterior to talk about where the sump pumps would drain, I specifically said that I wanted them to come out the front and have the drainage run down to the curb. He originally balked at the idea and again invoked Montgomery County saying that they sometimes rejected requests to drain to the street. I pressed the topic and said that I had already received a few other estimates and that no one else mentioned any issues running drainage to the curb. The salesman then agreed that it could be done and that he would include in the scope of work. I asked if I needed to call Ms. Utility and he said, "nah, they use school kids and our guys are much better." I believed we were in sync and he said he would send the contract the next day. When he didn't, I pressed him and he sent it. When I demoed the walls before their arrival, I found some damage and followed up with the sales person on how best to repair - No reply. I called the office and got answers and patched the bad cinder block with structural concrete so believed I was ready for their arrival. The day work was to start, the crew pulls in and while doing the walk through with the foreman, surprise, surprise there are issues because the contract did not detail the promises made by the salesman - Namely the extra waffle board and running the drain to the street. The office manager calls me while I hear the foreman talking to the salesman on the phone. The foreman has the speaker phone on and I clearly hear the salesman disparaging me while the crew is in my house - Extremely unprofessional. Whether it was an honest misunderstanding or a deliberate bait and switch attempt, I am not sure. Regardless, they were not prepared to deliver what the salesman sold me so I agreed with the office manager to just part ways at that point. She agreed to refund my deposit so no harm no foul other than a huge waste of time. I happily went with another company that I will review shortly but I would not recommend AA based on my experience. Should you consider them, make sure you take the sales pitch with a grain of salt and take detailed notes that you make sure are transferred to the contract. read more

We contacted them to look at a water leakage problem in our basement near a walk-up basement door. After having caulked around the door several times - we still had the problem and figured the problem was with the foundation. Jeff came out within 48 hours of our call and thoroughly assessed the situation. To our pleasant surprise he told us about two relatively easy things we could do to alleviate the problem and that we did not need the usual trench and sump pump solution which would have cost thousands. Unlike several other contractors - Jeff did not try to sell us anything we didn't really need but really looked at the problem from our perspective and not on how the company could land a lucrative job. Very happy with the service, we are in the process of remodeling our basement and had two egress windows installed. The next day we had about 30 gallons of water leak into our basement. AAW came out provided us a very reasonable quote (compared to one other contractor) as well as walked around an made recommendations on drainage locations for downspouts and check grading issues. We proceeded with the work to put in a drainage system around the entire basement floor. When they originally quoted they told us the work would take 3-4 days to complete and the team did it in 2! The best part was the next day we had an all day rain and I checked the sump pump to see the system was actually working!! read more

We had AAW install a sump pump and exterior staircase landing drain. The work was done on time and on budget, workers were prompt, courteous, and professional. We were charged a flat fee for the permit which I was originally hesitant about, thinking I might do it myself and save the money, but due to timing ended up paying it. Was WELL worth it as we ran into several complications with the city of Alexandria which they handled with no additional cost. We looked at several options, and they were the best value for price, not the cheapest, but very reasonable and worth paying a little more for the excellent quality. Jeff was our project manager and he was especially great. Would definitely work with them again and have recommended them to friends. read more

We have used All Aspects on 3 different occasions and the last one was just such a pleasure that I felt compelled to write a review. They have never disappointed - each time, the crew arrives on time, completes the work as agreed upon, leaves the area spotless and within budget. Every time. The first 2 issues were inside (basement). The last issue was outside near the foundation and required deep digging and removal of mature plantings. As promised, everything was put back exactly as before. I couldn't tell the area had been disturbed in anyway. Supervisor was "Joey" - he was excellent from diagnostics, estimating to job completion. Zeek addressed a very unique situation with rain water coming into my basement from above the foundation. After several attempts with other waterproofing companies who had varying opinions on how to treat the problem, he took more time than anybody else to simply think logically about how the water is coming in. He did not try to sell his services at all, as it looks like this is more of a grading issue with water finding its way into PVC piping that houses the heat pump lines. If that does not work, he told me to call him back to further investigate. He came after regular business hours and was genuinely interested in trying to stop the water from coming into my house. I am very satisfied with his professionalism, knowledge, and nonexistent sales pitch. I will definitely call Zeek in the future with any basement water issues! read more

Although I haven't had the opportunity to use this company for a waterproofing need, I have been in touch with them a few times. We are selling our home and needed something checked out. I tried to set up an appointment and waited for a call back from the scheduler. I lost track of the time and didn't realize I hadn't heard back from their scheduler until around 5pm. I called the 1-888 phone number to find out why and the customer service representative was very apologetic. (I had contacted them before and someone called back within 5 or 10 minutes, so I realized this was different than my first experience). He then told me someone would call me back right away. He was right. Audrey Kraft called me back AFTER office hours when everyone else was gone for the day. She even called from a different location than the office to apologize and gather as much information as she could to have the team work on this first thing the next morning. After talking with her, she explained the company policy for estimates (they can't come out unless there is actual water coming into the basement). We just had Rob come out to our house to do an estimate on our leaking basement. He was timely, professional, friendly, and thorough. He answered my millions of questions, calmed some of my fears, and did not at all give off that "sneaky used car salesman vibe" like some of the other waterproofing companies. Then, he took the time to explain it all again as my husband got home just as he was about to leave. Impressive! He explained what is happening and offered a couple of suggestions - none of which even involved hiring him. I learned a lot, have new steps to take to fix our basement that I would not have known to consider, and above all, I trusted his opinion. It is refreshing and rare to have someone come and do a free estimate and walk away saying nothing major is needed. But this is exactly the type of customer service I respect and is exactly what will make me come back to Rob and All Aspects if I have future needs. I highly recommend this company as an oasis in a dessert of other fear mongering water proofing companies. If I had to choose someone to have a warranty on my basement, this is the company I would choose. read more
