Mark took care of my two cats three years ago. I went to Hawaii for 12 days which turned out to be only 4 and cost me $1000 first class plane ticket. He did not properly shut my door or dead bolt it. My cats are indoor cats, they don't bolt out the door per what Mark said my one cat did.My neighbor told me he didn't shut the door properly or lock it, Mark confessed this to him. Subsequently, Mark did not offer and then refused to pay me for the $1000 one way ticket from Kauai. I've asked him for reimbursement several times, just recently he responded and said I was trying to blackmail him and came up with lies that my neighbor and other neighbors said my cats have escaped before. NOT. My cats are in fear of the outside, and they don't like men especially so there is no way in hell my cat Keepurrs would run past Mark which was his initial lie when he opened the door. The door was opened due to his not locking it or shutting in properly the Friday night before and he called me at 5am in Kauai to tell me my cat ran out instead of telling me the truth of his not being thorough and being professional in locking a door. Christ, I flew home that day on a red eye, first class $1000 ticket one way and got in at 6am and started looking for my cat. I didn't sleep for a day and a half, I luckily found him after sleeping on the couch wth my front door open, alarm clock set every 30 minutes to go outside on the streets, bushes, call him, he finally thank the grace of god showed up, covered in cat pee and beat up. He has no front claws so the poor little guy was outside on him own for almost four days, no food, no defense, doens't know how to live outside. The stress and nightmare this caused me is unfathomable.
I had just had a breast lumpectomy and this trip to Kauai was to be a healing, relaxing trip to rejuvenate. It turned into a nightmare because of Mark's lack of professionalism.
Mark is a liar and clearly not competent as a pet sitter. He's out for money, if he was ethical he would have reimbursed my plane ticket, profusely apologized for making the mistake of not locking or checking my door and being very apologetic for ruining my 12 day trip after only four days, especially after I just had a lumpectomy in my breast.
Mark, owner of Beyond Pets is BAD NEWS-unethical and a LIAR. Find another service, you don't want to go through what I did, whether three years ago or not, he just responded to my 3rd request for reimbursement and LIED, LIED, LIED. RUN CLEAR of Mark at Beyond Pets.
When people admit mistakes, their is forgiveness, when they LIE, they are done. There are no second chances with one who has no ethics and cannot be honest, especially with the Pets you trust them with. Find another pet service business to TRUST, this one is corrupt to the core with Mark N at the helm. His ways of doing business get imprinted to hi s employees, more unethics.
