Thankfully he told me there's cheese on the corned beef hash . Something interesting about michigan, I think they are the only state that serves cheese on their corned beef hash so whenever I'm in Michigan I always have to say please no cheese on my corned beef hash. The corned beef hash is made fresh from their corned beef, not from the can , so that always makes for a good experience. I look forward to coming here again. The food was delicious and the server was wonderful really nice place.

We were warmly greeted and seated by the hostess, and asked whether we'd like table or booth seating. On the mid weekday morning, it was nearly empty. I did note that they do a regular take out business well so there's always folks coming and going. I ordered a glass of Prosecco (~$12) and Shakshuka (~$16). The poached eggs were done perfectly and the spiced stewed tomatoes with a hard cheese wedge were delicious. Instead of crust bread, the dish arrived with a half piece of grilled pita. With all the liquid a bit more bread would have been a plus. The Prosecco was served in a wine glass. It tasted sweet and pretty flat unfortunately. Wouldn't likely order alcohol again here. The spices and freshness of the Shakshuka would however bring me back next time, with a cup of coffee.

It's sort of like an old school steakhouse except there are deer heads and other assorted cabin-like artifacts on the wall. It adds to the place and makes it seem more casual. Our server, Rachel, was absolutely outstanding. She was on it, she was fun, and she checked up on us at the right times. We really enjoyed the banter with her and more restaurants need a Rachel. My friend got the Kale Caesar Salad and I got the French Onion soup. Both very good, and the soup wasn't salty like some places. I got the parmesan chicken, which is not your typical chicken parmesan. No marinara but instead a wine reduction sauce. I took some marinara from my friend's risotto balls and that made it better for this half Italian. It was good either way honestly. They have a great wine and drink selection. Lastly, the people watching is pretty awesome if that's your thing. Not cheap but you get great service, a nice drink selection and tasty food. Definitely going back.

Now there are salads on the menu -- complete dinner salads and large side salads. I had a very tasty Michigan cherry salad, with walnuts and blue cheese. Thursday must be "prime rib" night. Everyone else in my party ordered the prime rib, but I got shrimp and black bean cakes. Everything was carefully arranged on my plate. A pretty presentation. The three large shrimp were so fresh they were crunchy-good -- cooked only enough to cause them to turn opaque. The black bean cakes were a little bland, but the creamy red bell pepper sauce with scattered tiny diced veggies that was lightly laced over the top of everything added flavor, even if it was un-spicy. The little tuft of micro-greens was a nice touch, and the two baby carrots and six haricots verts were steamed and shocked to perfection, but I would have preferred a bigger pile of veggies. After that, we all went for a trip to the sundae bar. A big improvement over my prior dining experiences at this place. The rest was as I remember it: The wait staff is friendly and professional -- attentive without stopping the flow of conversation. The surroundings are luxurious, with elegant tiled floors and beautiful flower arrangements.

The flavor was so good that I could easily see myself wanting it every day. That said, it's definitely on the expensive side for a latte. I'd get it again as a special treat, but it's not something I could get regularly. The space is cute and modern, but it's definitely more of a grab-and-go type of spot. It's a small space with very limited seating and it gets pretty crowded, which is understandable given how popular it seems to be. Because of that, it's not really a place where you'd want to settle in to work or hang out for a while. The only seating available is a small counter by the window with a few stools, and the shop can feel a bit hectic when you first walk in. One thing I also appreciated was the bathroom. It was very nice, clean, and private, which is always a plus. Note: They start serving lunch (sandwiches, pizza) at 11:00 am.
