Call me a health-nut but for the last year and a half I have been all about juicing, and after driving by this place many times I decided it was time to finally stop on by since I'm juicing like crazy. The shop itself is nestled away in a strip mall and is very tiny but it has a few tables if you'd like to sit. Urge, for the most part, is best known for their juice. They're numerous different flavors and I believe they change them up every few months. My FAV was the Young Thai Coconut water( because it tasted delicious and I live coconut water). The sweet green was a good drink as well! I also tried one of their açaí bowls. I've tried to make my own açaí bowls at home and they didn't turn out nearly as tasty as the one I got from here. In addition to the base, I added strawberries, bananas, blueberries and coconut chips. They often run out of some of their juices so if you're looking for a specific kind, id call prior to visiting. I've had Urge juices several times at the RO farmers market but I finally had a chance to stop in their store front in Berkely. The shop is small but clean and cute. They have just a few tables if you're looking to stay and eat. They obviously are known for their cold pressed juices which come in a nice variety of flavors are are about $10 each which is average for cold pressed juice. Let the Beet Drop is one of my favorites. They also have a couple of elixirs that are much smaller, I tried the Awake and it was delicious. On my recent visit I wanted to try their Acai bowl. I have a banana allergy so they were able to make it sans banana. The one guy suggested to replace it with dates next time which I will definitely try. I topped my Acai bowl with chia, blueberries and strawberries and pepitas (pumpkin seeds) and it was delicious. They have some salads and quinoa bowls as well as some toast options to choose from also. They are planning to add some brunch items on sundays in a few weeks I'm told as well. read more

They tend to run low on juices later, so call ahead if you want a specific flavor. Our favorite stop on the way to or from Detroit Airport. Small and charming with fresh food and pressed juices we crave! The employees are all so friendly and answer any questions you may have. They make everything quickly and with the best ingredients. We need more shops like this in the Metro Detroit area. Only note is the açaí bowls come out a little melted sometimes. read more

I've done a couple juice cleanses through them and they have always done a great job - but I think they really stepped up their game when they started making food. They now serve Acai (smoothie) bowls, smoothies, fancy breakfast toasts, and salads. I came in on a Saturday morning and ordered a toast and a Acai bowl to share with a friend. I thought their prices were reasonable considering Acai bowls and toast are all the rage now and they have to keep up with competitors. Both were delectable. They have a few small tables so we were able to sit and eat there but typically this place is best for take out. They had free cucumber water as well which was a very nice touch. They customer service has always been great and you can tell they are just good people. I haven't tried their salads yet but they look awesome so I will be back soon to try them. read more

I just finished a 3 day juice cleanse and am so happy I picked Urge to do it through. I picked Cleanse #2 which is more veggie based than fruit based as I didn't want to consume more sugar than needed in those 3 days. They describe it as "For the more advanced cleanser or juicer. More heavily green juice based + Youg Thai coconut water." You get 6 juices a day to drink at the cost of $165. Although I cringed at the price originally, I think I became more OK spending that kind of money on juice when I tasted each of them. Seemed like some quality juicing to me! Here's a little review of each juice I had (in the order of daily consumption): Orange You Glad - So happy this was my first juice each day! You can really taste the carrot with subtle hints orange, apple, and lemon. Overall great flavor. Sweet Green - Has cucumber, kale, pear and apple. I always thought green juices taste too much of the leafy green, but with this one you REALLY taste the cucumber. Actually kinda refreshing. Liquid Garden - I think this one was my favorite as it wasn't sweet at all. Actually, it tasted like a Bloody Mary mix, which is probably why I loved it so much. This is a mix of cucumber, kale, celery, ginger and lemon. Delish. Let The Beet Drop - My least favorite. Not that it wasn't a good juice, I just HATE beets and that's most of what I could taste. Beets taste like dirt to me, which gave this juice a funky flavor. I had a coworker who loved it, so I gave them to her in return of an Apple Tart juice. The beet juice had carrot, apple, beet and lemon. Refresh - Just as the name, this green juice too is refreshing. It was my "dinner" juice and was glad for it. This one was kale, apple and lemon. Coconut Water - Amazing. I could drink this every day. So happy it was my "dessert" juice as it's a tad sweet and really awesome coconut flavor. This was pure coconut water. Although going 3 days without food was practically torture for me (I love food), it was a great experience. I was impressed with the quality and flavor of the juices. I would love to try their other juices, even if they're $10-11 a bottle. read more

I had such a bad experience here today at Urge. I hadn't been in for a couple months, and I'm not sure I will go back. Whenever I go here, my drink of choice is the Sweet Green. I would typically stop by on Thursdays when the juice was super fresh. I stopped in on Friday morning, and ALL of the juice looked like it had been there for awhile. The guy who helped me kept saying they were made the previous day. I was going to purchase a ton of them but I only grabbed 4 since they looked old. Gustavo who was working there wasn't helpful at all. To be honest, if he would have just said they hadn't made any yesterday that would have been ok. I would have been disappointed, but what can I do? Instead he just kept insisting they were made yesterday. They were at least a few days old. Then when I asked to speak to a manager, Gustavo was super cagey. On top of that, I have been trying to call to speak to anyone else and no one is answering the phone. I hope I am able to get in touch with someone soon. I'm really upset that I bought 4 old juices and I would like to see if they will do something for me. I'm not looking for a refund, but maybe a juice or 2 on the house?? I stopped by Drought after I left Urge and the juices they had were actually fresh! I've been a semi-regular here, but sadly, today is probably my last time frequenting Urge for a while. The food and drink is good. The staff is friendly, but the wait has gotten increasingly unreasonable. This has been the case whether ordering ahead or ordering in person. It doesn't matter what time of day. Ive regularly waited 15-20 minutes for a smoothie. Just a smoothie. Today I waited for 30 minutes for a smoothie and a quinoa bowl (there was only one other woman there who had preordered and was still waiting 10+ minutes), and I finally just requested a refund. In the last few months, I've had multiple other patrons make unsolicited comments to me about how ridiculous the wait is, including today. I've seen people walk in, wait, and never get service so they leave. I really REALLY want to support our local Berkley juicery. Urge, I "urge" you to address this issue. I want to love you. I want to give you my money. You always seems like you have a lot of busy staff in back, and you clearly have a reason for that. But don't forget about basic customer service. Even communicating up front to customers that it is going to take 15 minutes for a smoothie or 20-30 minutes for a bowl would be a step in the right direction. Ideally, though you would be able to provide a smoothie or primarily raw bowl quicker than a sit down restaurant provides a cooked meal. This makes me sad for all involved. Their products are delicious and I instantly feel better as soon as I drink them! My go-to hangover cure is the blue lemonade. it's absolutely fire !! I discovered Urge when I did a short cleanse. As someone who'd never done a juice cleanse before, I like that they had suggestions as to which juices I should start with and then build up to. Now, when I'm looking for a day where I don't feel gross from bad eating decisions, I know I can count on Urge to get me on the right track again. This was such a disappointment. I live within close walking distance, so I stopped in a little while after they opened, hoping that something cool had opened up nearby. When I heard the phrase "juice bar", I totally expected something like a bar, but for juice. Like, hang out with your friends while sipping a juice. That is not the case. I walked in to see a counter with like two or three chairs at it, which obviously told me that I was WAY off with my expectations. There was a fridge with a bunch of bottles of juice in it, and a cashier. I tried a couple samples and picked one I liked (ginger apple), expecting to get it fresh into a styrofoam cup or something. Nope. I just had to pull a bottle out of the fridge. Why there is an entire business like this when they could just get the product into Whole Foods or something doesn't make sense at all to me. This entire business is one refrigerator. What? It was good juice, but it was $10 for maaaybe a liter or so. I would never normally spend that much on juice, but the place is so tiny and it was just me and the cashier guy and I had already tried the samples, so I bought one just to be polite. Yum! I've searched for a raw juice bar for so long and I stumbled across Urge today! I love that you stop in and buy the juice of your choice to go! Super clean place and the staff is super helpful. Stopped in here out of curiosity looking to quench my thirst with some fresh squeezed juice and came away sorely disappointed. All juices were 10 dollars. For that price I expected some sort of customer experience like on the spot juicing, but the owner simply opened a bottle from beneath the counter and poured me a glass. Not knowing anything about the store, it appeared the owner was simply reselling mass market juice. After doing some research, I found that wasn't true, but I shouldn't have to do research to arrive at that conclusion. Now, perhaps I've been drinking fruit juice too long, but when I hear juice I generally think of something a bit sweeter or at least refreshing. The cocktail I was poured, liquid green, was highly sour, almost mouth puckering. I anticipated a juice made with celery and lemon would have some sort of natural, organic sweetener or at least fruit juice added, but I was wrong. It was awful and smelled like lawn trimmings. On the positive side, the owner was very friendly, and clearly believed in his product. But, I walked away thinking this store can't be around long. People won't pay 10 dollars for zero customer experience, especially when the end product is not tasty and you don't leave understanding why their product is unique. I gave it 3 stars because after doing some research I believe the owner means well and I don't think it'd be fair to ding them too greatly for misses on experience and not product quality when they just opened. read more

This place it awesome. It is right down the street from my boyfriends place and we finally decided to check it out, I am so glad we did. It is very clean and fresh in there. There are juices that are ready for you to grab from the cooler. They also have awesome cold brew coffee. I tried the Acai bowl. It was a little expensive ($10), but absolutely delicious. I was in town from Los Angeles and needed to find an organic juice bar in the area. I really loved Urge! They have samples of all their juices to try before you buy. I was introducing my mom to the world of juicing, and it was really cool that she was able to get an idea of how the different blends tasted. Honestly, every one was delicious. Green garden was my favorite, but I've been juicing for a while and prefer a less sweet flavor. I also loved the different beet mixtures. My mom really liked the carrot blend. The owner (I think) was in the first day we came in. He was very knowledgable, and passionate about the business.
