The things they sell are helpful to more than professional jewelers. My father, for example, is a botanist who studies mosses. He buys all of his hand lenses here (and then proceeds to wear them around his neck and continually get asked why he's wearing a whistle.) I like them for their beading cord and tool quality. This is the kind of place that is trying to keep itself a secret. THERE IS NO SIGN. Let me repeat that. THIS STORE DOES NOT HAVE A SIGN. They also keep their door locked a lot of the time, so you knock and look somewhat respectable and they let you in. (The store is located right next to the plasma donation place, and they apparently get some interesting characters in.) They acknowledged that my initial authentication report did not meet my expectations and offered to have the watch returned to them at their expense for a more comprehensive evaluation. The second experience was completely different. They covered all shipping costs, took the time to perform a much more thorough inspection, and provided the detailed breakdown I had originally requested. The follow-up report addressed the authenticity of the individual components in far greater detail and gave me significantly more confidence in their findings. While I still believe the initial service fell short and required me to follow up for updates, I also believe it's important to recognize when a company stands behind its work and makes a genuine effort to correct a mistake. Stoll & Co. did exactly that. No company gets everything right the first time, but how they respond when something goes wrong says a lot about their integrity. In my case, they listened to my concerns, took responsibility, and ultimately delivered the level of service I had expected from the beginning. He came out from behind the counter and asked what wrist size I need, told him mine and he said ok give me just a few minutes. He clearly had been doing this his entire life. This guy only charged me like $5 to take a few links out. I expeced to pay at least $20, so this was an awesome surprise. Then a problem arose in which his expensive laser testing tool said my bar wasn't gold. It was sealed in a plastic case to protect the bar and the maker's stamping. He suggested I call the company from whom I bought it, which I did but they offered no help. I went back to Tony and asked him to remove the container and rescan it - and all was well.
