There is a small coffee shop on the London side, although I haven't got a drink from here in years. There is two ticket machines outside, and they both top up your Oyster card too. I find that the staff can be helpful depending on who serves you, but I normally just buy my ticket from the machine. It is exactly what it says it is - a train station!

You can get a train from here into Kent and also to central London via Greenwich and Bexley lines - which is quite cool. There is also a little shop which used to be in the station and which I believe will be moving back in when the station is finished. I do miss not being able to use my Oyster here, and because it is outside the Oyster zone tickets are quite expensive. I also don't like the fact I can't top my oyster up here - yes I know I can't use it, but what if I want to check my balance etc!

The station also has a small coffee shop which is open during the mornings. There is a self ticket machine too. The staff a friendly and helpful which always makes the morning travel better. There is on site parking but it is quite expensive. The road has double yellow lines so don't park as you will get a ticket. Mounting the curb is also not advised as the council usually has a mobile camera car which will take pictures and send you a fine.

Transiting from the Underground to the train platform is extremely easy. My only complaint is that there are very few seats for waiting. There is an AMT Coffee (they're everywhere!) and a few other shops for grabbing a quick sandwich to take on the trains.

Only opened in 1899, it is one of London's youngest mainline terminal stations. Beatles fans will recognize it as the opening location of their first film, A Hard Day's Night. Though much has changed since 1964, any true Beatles fan will enjoy imagining the Beatles running for a train with a mob of screaming birds in their wake. Walking the historic platforms, only recently expanded, I was overwhelmed with the everyday beauty and usefulness of a national transit system.

Payment can be made via single fare tickets, an Oyster card, or any contactless payment device (i.e. Apple Pay, Google Pay, any watch or credit card that has the "Wifi" symbol) Payment via contactless payment will be the cheapest and one merely needs to tap the yellow 3 feet podium before going up the stairs! The station itself is dated, like the rest of London City Airport and needs modernization. Trains have A/C and are on the noisier side...

It's pretty much "Airport that-a-way". I suppose there are people who live in the area that use this station too. It is in Travelcard Zone 3. Like the entire DLR system, there are no ticket barricades. You must remember to buy a ticket or swipe your Oyster card. The DLR system does have ticket inspectors and the fine can be sharpish.

The DLR station is mid-block on Woolwich New Road, and the train station is on the corner with Vincent Road. The area, far from being the stereotypical scary, is actually quite diverse, and is also gentrifying rapidly. That said, there are a number of late-night kebab and chicken shops as well as a huge Tesco for grocery shopping during the daytime. Numerous bus connections around the area as well as DLR to Canning Town and Stratford.
