I was on a call when I did the walk thru with the manager on site, so I was rushing and didn't notice the trees by the pool were not cut. The management went to telling me how much money 200.00 dollars it was going to cost him to get workers back out. I am still waiting for a call back to be scheduled for our job we paid for to be finished. Very disappointed with service I received. Below is the estimate of everything that was supposed to be done. About 4 months ago things started to change. He was no longer reliable, truthful, or dependable. I discovered that he was lying about cutting different properties and was always filled with hundreds of excuses. Meanwhile, he then tells me he got a big mowing job at the VA. Well, I am happy for him, but you don't just kick your good customers that pay within an hour of the property being completed to the curb. His communication skills are totally absent, and you constantly have to run after him. When he starts making excuses, you need to cut him loose. There are many lawn care people out there that are dying for the jobs and the work. Find one of them and give them your business. Dwayne doesn't care. This is a photo of yesterday 6/18/26 in Monticello, a historical district in San Antonio. This is the current condition of how he has just walked away with no communication and the condition he has left my property in. The backyard looks the same. If you hire him just be prepared for more of this same kind of treatment. He should be ashamed of himself as a Marine Vet, he knows better. -Sondra G.

Initially, I was looking forward to working with Dream Yards. The website was informative and easy…read moreto use, and the owner contacted me and came to my house for a quote very quickly. His quote was fair for the scope of the work listed, and he maintained communication, in spite of weather issues, about when they would start the job. However; once the job was finished, I had the following issues: 1. Contract Issue: Dream Yards' business contract states: "Dream Yards will present a walk thru with each customer after each project to verify work was completed at time of service." A walkthrough was not completed with myself, who was the one who hired Dream Yards and was the point of contact with Mark, the owner. 2. Customer Service: When I looked closely at the variegated ginger plants, there were many brown edges on several of the plants. I texted Mark Morales, the owner, the next morning expressing my concern. Mark replied that the plants were "healthy yesterday." *At the end of the business contract, there is a quote: "People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care." Mark's response to my concern about the brown edges on the plants did not represent this claim. The problem could have easily have been resolved by simply replacing 3 plants with brown edges to meet customer satisfaction. (I was very surprised when I initially saw the quality and appearance of the new variegated ginger plants and more surprised that Dream Yards felt the plants were provided a good representation of their work). I asked Mark to come out to look at the plants, instead of a crew person, so he could personally see the issues. Mark ended up sending his partner, Steven, who hadn't overseen the job, to look at my concerns. 3. Quality of Job: Steven came in the morning to see my concerns. One ginger plant had fallen over because it was not secured deep enough into the ground, and the roots were visible. A couple liarope plants were falling over as well, indicating the plants were not placed deep enough into the soil. Steven said he would add soil to fix the problem. At the end of the visit, it appeared that Steven had probably repositioned the mulch to hold up the plant as opposed to actually adding more soil or digging the hole deeper. Steven said there was a 30 day warranty on the plants but didn't give any information as to how that works. 4. Quoted Services: The Dream Yards quote included removing all dead oak leaves in plant beds. Removing the dead leaves was one of my main concerns; dead oak leaves do not decompose and prevent good soil absorption as the plants grow. As I was watering and looking closely, the dead leaves were not removed; mulch was spread over the dead oak leaves. This is evident because at the base of the plants, the build-up of dead leaves caught up in the base of each plant is visible. In addition, when I moved the mulch to inspect a little deeper, I could see the dead oak leaves underneath the mulch. I also never saw any bags of leaves that had been blown and collected to be hauled off.

I chose Texas Hill Country Trees because their reviews and ratings were the strongest, simple as that. Our backyard is all artificial turf and rock, so I was nervous about damage. Jeff sent a quote within 24 hours, included his insurance, and reassured me they work over turf all the time. That alone gave me peace of mind. The quote was fair, and the crew came out the very next day. They showed up on time, got straight to work, and every single person was professional. Before anyone looks at the photos I'm posting, I want to point something out. I knew going in that I'd have some cleanup to do afterward. With the amount of work needed, especially grinding down the stump, I wasn't expecting the area to look perfect. They're tree trimmers, removers, arborists, not landscapers. And honestly, considering the work involved, they left the space in great shape. The rest is just me doing the final touches so it looks the way I prefer it. Blame it on my OCD. As for the one‑star review calling Jake rude, I'm sure there are two sides to that story, because my experience with him was completely different. I arrived about an hour after they started, and Jake introduced himself immediately. He walked me through what they were doing and explained how they were protecting the turf. He was professional the entire time. I HIGHLY recommend Texas Hill Country Trees. Don't let one angry review scare you off, my experience from start to finish was excellent.

The crew blocked my driveway while performing work in the neighborhood and showed little regard for common courtesy or respect toward neighboring residents. Before the issue escalated, I politely informed the crew that I would be leaving soon and that they would need to move their vehicle. I initially allowed them additional time to continue working. However, after they ignored my requests made from my front doorway, I was forced to approach Jake and the crew directly to clarify what they were doing was illegal and I need to go to work. Despite my repeated requests, they became argumentative and used profanity toward me, including calling me a "bitch," when I confronted them and insisted that they stop blocking my driveway and move their vehicle immediately. When I arrived home approximately five to six hours later, I discovered several trash bags filled with organic waste left on my side of the alleyway located between their client's residence (my neighbor's property) and my own. The waste appeared to have been left behind by the crew, further demonstrating a lack of professionalism, consideration, and proper cleanup practices. I found the behavior of both Jake and partially the crew to be highly disrespectful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Please do your due diligence when hiring so called, "professionals."
