I try to avoid being overly critical on Yelp, but BevMo is a disappointment every time I go in, even when I try to go in with really low expectations. The only nice thing I can say is that they have a better selection than any other liquor store that I know of in the immediate area, so I do shop here occasionally when I need something specific and don't want to drive 20 minutes to Total Wine & More. So they get a star for that. Meanwhile, here are the things that frustrate me: Selection: Good but not great. For a store with this kind of square footage, I would like to see more variety, especially in the liquor section. Prices: Consistently higher than competitors. You might get lucky and hit a sale, but generally speaking you will pay more here than at other places. Beer prices are outrageous. Employee Training: While the employees are always polite and try to help, they are not well educated on the products carried in the store. Parking Lot: Plenty of parking, but turning left out of the lot is a borderline dangerous. While the location isn't technically the fault of the management, they could at least trim the bushes back so you can see oncoming traffic. Sorry if this sounds like a shill, but Total Wine & More is exactly the same kind of store and manages to do everything better by a wide margin. BevMo could get their act together and compete if they really wanted to, but they don't seem interested. read more

I went in for some tequila, that is all. I'm not a pet person by far because I grew up not able to have them because of my allergies. So I don't get amused when a strangers dog jumps on me. On top of that I'm exhausted. It sniffed once. Fine then followed me. Hhmmpph. The owner called it then it followed me again sniffing me. It jumped on me twice. Not interested. I would hope that's not normal practice to have someone's pet running around the store to customers. I didn't even care to use my discount because I just wanted to get out smdh. Idc if he or she doesn't bite. Period. Not every customer wants a pet on them. I went there for likka. read more

Says on the door that they close at 10p. Showed up at 9:55p & they had already moved the carts in front of the door. Smarmy employee shrugged his shoulders when I asked to come in. Won't be back! read more

Pretty disappointed. We love coming here for the great selection; however, we ordered a keg and were told a certain price then we were called the day before we were to pick it up and told they couldn't get it. No biggy, we'd get something similar. They told us what they had and were not told that they new cider was $20+ more, we didn't find it until they rang us up. The keg should have been the same price especially since they messed up in the first place. read more

Great selection of wine. However the customer service is HORRIBLE. liquor stores on the corner have better service.

Pricey but fantastic. Great personal service. We were planning my daughter's wedding and the manager went out of his way to make sure we got what we needed with the least amount of stress. It's nice to know that customer service still exists. read more

If you're in the area and looking for a good liquor selection this is a good place. If you are anywhere near a Total Wine and More, go there instead. Total Wine has a massive and much better selection. The prices here seem to be pretty competitive and they have a member club which offers email and discounts which is nice. There's nothing inherently wrong with this place except they don't have the real estate and selection that Total Wine does. read more

They have a few NW cheeses and some nice salamis as well as the little warsteiner kegs and a good selection of Belgian beer.

Tried at least 7-8 times from Sat. night until Sun. AM to pay for an online order. Every time, my card was declined because of "address verification." Have lived same place 24 yrs. Tried a different card, on 2 diff. computers. Same result. Website says they have live chat starting 11:00 am Sun. Attempted to use their chat helpline at 11:23 AM. The loading circle started spinning, saying it was connecting to an agent. Waited 11 minutes, circle still spinning, no agent. Closed chatline, opened it again on diff. computer with diff. browser. Same bull-spinning loading circle & "connecting with live agent." 9 min. later, no agent. Perhaps Bevmo's IT & customer service rep's spend their work shifts chugging down the stores wares & cannot perform their assigned tasks. Don't know & don't care since I'll never be patronizing Bevmo again. read more

You are missing out if you have not tried out the store...I love wine, and there is a buy one get one free or for a nickle. Any beverage is here...lots of old school sodas, vast decisions when it comes to beer. Speciality cheeses, crackers, and chocolates. Their spirits run from the familiar to the top of the line. The staff is outstanding, store is clean. There are wine or beer tasting. Sign up for the email newsletter specials and events...And, become a member, for every $250.00 you spend, you will get an email for an additional 5% off. read more

I am from Southern California and frequented BevMo there. I was happy to find out there were going to be some store openings up here. This is the closet one to me (20 min. drive) and I happen to be in the area so I stopped in. I was a bit disappointed in the selection as it was a bit more scarce then the ones in California. read more

Customer service was great - I purchased some martini glasses in a hurry and didn't check them closely. When I got home I noticed some were chipped at the rim - I went back a few hours later (with receipt), and they happily replaced all the chipped glasses - the clerk also checked all of the other glasses on the shelf to make sure they were also serviceable. We did have an issue similar to another poster where one person in our party didn't have ID for a purchase - that was a bit of a drill, but Bevmo! cannot be held responsible for silly state laws...we simply learned to make sure everyone has ID before going into the store. Good job guys - I'll be back. read more

so excited to have a bevmo in Tacoma! They are amazing! You can special order, they help you with planning your party and they have a huge selection. They helped me find a bottle of 15 yo scotch. read more

This is my go to store for Wine! Their selection is great but the best part is that they have the absolute best customer service. I have NEVER been disappointed! I recently sent my mom to this Bevmo to get me something specific. Manny was extremely helpful. I cannot believe how he went out of his way to assist her. If you are looking for your usual drink or are having a dinner party and want a good suggestion for a new drink, this store is for you! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Thanks again Manny! You have lifelong customers with us! read more

Good selection of bottles and rotating taps for growlers ( they only fill bevmo growlers though) decent prices for craft beer

Been going there for couple years. Always spend at least 50 bucks. Went in to pick up an online order, wanted a bag. Was told I would have to buy a .06 cent bag!! OK, lets buy a bag, OHHH we cant just sell you a bag you have to buy something else!! Are you kidding me I just spent 50 buck and you cannot give me a .06 cent bag!! Will not be back!! read more

This is great place to stock up on all of your beverage needs! They have a fantastic variety and friendly staff. I am so excited to have found this place! read more

Fuck Bevmo. Craig helped take my reservations when I called, I was calling in reference to what was currently at the store in the way of kegs. I didn't want to drive to the store and not get what I came for! Craig says it's there. I'm driving from key peninsula, and have to pay a toll on the narrows to get to tacoma. We get there, and not only is there no keg, their selection of available kegs is laughable. So pissed. They wouldn't give me a discount or anything to make up for lost time, lost mileage, lost gas, and overall frustration. I will never shop at this poor man's 'wine and beer' again. Fuck you Craig you cuck bitch. read more

Be careful when shopping here the price shown isn't the real price. They show their own price called the "BEVMO" pricing. Read the small print for the real price. I got the ol bait and switch and it wasn't explained very well as checking out and I felt something wasn't right. Didn't even figure it out until I pulled out the calculator. Even the receipt is deceiving guess they dont want people knowing this. Probably should be 1 star for this trickery. read more

Terrible management, dis-courteous, not a good buy So, I put my name in for a chance to buy some Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, and then when they get it in they decide to raffle it at 8:00 a.m. on a Thursday. So everyone with a job was screwed out of chance. So I have my wife go to the store. She gets there at 8:03 where she is told by the cashier, sorry, you are too late. She gets in car at 8:05 and leaves. I call store manager ROBERT MOORE and he tells me nobody was turned away and he didn't start until 8:10. He then went on to say that my wife must be lying. The other BevMo just put the Pappy on the shelf and first come first serve. Only a true Bourbon fan would even think to buy this product to begin with. He was incredibly unprofessional. The customer service was non-existent. Their prices are not anything special. You would do better ordering online from out of state, yes, many places will ship it. When I told him I would be frequenting his store as a customer, he said good. What kind of a smartass response is this? At no time did he apologize for the mix up or any dissatisfaction on our part. He was more interested in justifying this ridiculous raffle during the middle of the week. Total assclown if you ask me, and dishonest as well, as people were turned away. My wife could hear them in back talking because the raffle hadn't started and the cashier would give her a raffle ticket because it was after 8:00. What a dumbass idea hold a raffle for booze at 8 in the morning on a workday. Why not do it on Saturday, but then again this is the same store that has employee meetings at 8:00 on a Sunday morning so they can screw their employees out of a Saturday night out, and a Sunday morning in. Ass backwards run operation. read more

Probably the widest beer selection in Tacoma, but unfortunately will not be going back to them unless it is for a growler because they are too pricy. They used to price match with Total Wine, which is consistently a better deal, but that is no longer the policy. I'll be stocking up there instead. read more

On the plus side, the selection is very good BUT the prices are extremely high. To illustrate, I purchased a bottle of rum that was on sale ($2 off) at this BevMo but later that day found the same Rum at Walgreens for $2 cheaper then the BevMo sale price. I thought everything in the store particularly beer and wine were way too expensive. From now on, I'll go to Costco for all my alcoholic purchases. If you enjoy overpaying, I highly recommend this store. read more

You will find a better selection and prices at your local Safeway, or any grocery store. Huge disappointment. Prices were even higher than what I usually pay. Skip it. read more

Received whiskey stones for Christmas. They do not cool drinks as advertised and I wanted to return them. I had a receipt but no box. Clerk says he can not refund without being able to sell them to the next customer. Really, I had them in whiskey at my home and you want to sell them to someone else. The manufacturer should refund their money. Anyway, Costco sells liquor and has excellent return policy. Guess where I am going next time. read more

screwy place. I only go in to buy shiner bock. Its not easy. I generally get a case, if I don't have to move to many 6 packs around. I got mycase, still closed up, the clerk wanted to open it and take one out to scan, Not sure why , but I really wanted a un opened case in the car..if bev no mo doesn't want to, and doesn't have the ability to sell a whole case, they should say so. they pulled the well you will just have to wait then. screw it. Got to be someplace else to get a rack or half rack of shiner besides bev no mo. will send a request to metropolitan market or fred meyer.prety much had it with bev no mo. its just to difficult for a simple transaction. kindof like pot shops, bev no mo makes buying their producst a lot harder than it should be.bev no mo is a good example of the mistake privatizing liquor was read more
