What a unique variety of foods today the customer service was a lot better than the last time that one is lacking but it's a cool store. I am surprised by the food options. The prices are rather over charged. I personally prefer total wine more but this was closer there is no ambience whatsoever again. While I prefer to go to bottle shops and other such places to stock up on craft beer I do occasionally like to duck into BevMo! Their selection is a bit different with brands I am seeking out so that definitely keeps things interesting. I am impressed with their foreign beer selection and feel like the other places I go this section is quite small but I feel like BevMo! has a sizeable selection here. On my last visit I went to a side of the store that I don't normally go to and find an almost mini-grocery section with ice cream and other snacks. The wine section is good too and in the past Steve and I have enjoyed this section. Cider and Kombucha sections aren't bad. Also we came across cards covering various occasions perhaps to accompany a bottle of wine or whatever suits your fancy and we got two birthday cards here as we felt we found something unique. BevMo! Is a good place to go for liquor options but it is expanding to more than that for sure. read more

Not impressed with the customer service..visiting from TX went into this location for a specific drink.. I didn't like the guy at the register he had a GEN Z smart ass mouth... so I just left the purchase on the counter and walked out without paying. read more

Good selection of wine, beer, and spirits! A bit pricey but they have a lot of cheaper bottles too, like their buy one get one free deals on select wines. They also have a selection of snacks, mixers, and essential bar tending items for parties and things of that nature. I love how they carry alcohol from other countries such as Italy, Germany, Nicaragua, and the Philippines (my native country)! There's a lot more to name but just check it out for yourself. They also have an open room towards the back of the store for activities such as wine tastings or paint & sip events. The only thing I did not like was the parking lot, oh and the fact that they charge a 20% SPIRITS SALES TAX. That is crazy high! I walked in expecting to spend about $50 and it ended up being almost $70. This is a good place to buy alcohol but damn, I'll probably stick to buying mine from Safeway or something. So just prepare your wallets when shopping at BevMo! read more

Great selection, store is very well organized and clean. All the workers here are really friendly and helpful. Usually if i can't find what i'm looking for, they have good suggestions for alternatives. I have been coming here pretty religiously for two years and it never disappoints. The loyalty program is 100% worth it! I also appreciate that they never seem to be short staffed (at least at the registers lol) so the lines aren't insane, even before a holiday). Sometimes their mixers like soda and juice tend to be low in stock or limited but that's really my only complaint. Love this place read more

The service is average, ambiance is also average. If you are a first time customer beware. I placed (2) items which were marked at 19.99 each on the counter, it came to over 80 bucks. Oh you don't have a "club card". Sign up it'll be 60 something. Will not be going back. read more

Went to get some singles. was told they only are sold in 6 packs, Im like no thanks, I dont want to buy a 6 pack of beer and its crap! (I like trying different beers) so ended up getting nothing here, and at this point I doubt I will be back! The customer service here SUCKS! And they have lost a customer for good! read more

Bevmo is where it's at! I love that this place is truly a one stop shop for getting all the fixins for a night of drinks and snacks. An amazing selection of cheeses, gourmet dips, meats and lots of other snack options. Lots of mixes and garnishes of all types. Candy galore. Great selection of upscale liquors, champagne and wines. I found an amazing bloody mary mix there, only to find out I cleaned them out. Needless to say, they've ordered more and will call me when it comes in! Finally we have a Bevmo in washington and it is very similar to the Bevmos in Calif with the exception of our wonderful state taxing. I guess we have to take this in steps and maybe reducing the taxes on this will happen sometime. I like the growler selection as well as the large selection of liquor. The prices before taxes are are close to california's and compare with Costco's. Hoping to see more open a little closer to me. read more

Not being a big drinker - I haven't hardly bought any liquor since the new law went into effect. Also, I'm a cheapskate - so I'm always looking for absolutety the lowest price. This store is right across the street from the Tacoma Costco. It is a clean, large store that is asethetically pleasing to shop in. However, there prices are less than the grocery stores and possibly just a smidge higher than Costco. Prices are still 30% higher than what I paid a year ago. Probably will just stick with buying my everyday liquor at Costco but would come here if I was looking for a specific liquor. read more

I would like to share my experience with local manager: this Bevmi manager refused to accept my keg exchange because my friend's name was on the previous tag... Manager essentially accused me of being a thief by postulating that I could have stolen the keg and that there's no proof that it is mine to exchange. All the while, I AM IN FULL MILITARY UNIFORM AND ATTEMPTING TO PURCHASE $200 OF BEER LIKE I DO EVERY TIME I COME TO REFILL OUR KEG. Several other customers witnessed him arguing with me and basically accusing me of running some sort of stupid scam of trying to exchange a keg that "doesn't belong to me". I tried explaining to him that the keg shells all belong to the distributors and that he should just let me pay my money and leave. It was a horrible experience and I will be attempt to contact the owner. read more

I am a 58-year-old African American Man. I purchased a bottle of beer for a birthday party I was attending this evening and was stopped in the parking lot by the store manager who asked me to give him the bottle in my hand. I complied assuming the bottle was defective or the beer had been recalled or something. When the manager was met at the door and informed by the counterman that I had indeed paid for the beer, the manager returned it to me. Apparently, the manager assumed I was stealing. I returned it for a refund and I will never shop at this racist store again. I hope you dear reader will not shop here either. You have dozens of choices for spirits here in Tacoma, plenty that won't make you feel like a criminal. read more

Very well stocked store with competitive prices great variety, beer and hard liquorand ... haven't shopped wine bc TJ's gives them a run for their money :) ... I found a French Pinot for $6.99 that they cannot even touch ... Whiskey section is extremely well stocked, specially with the Irish stuff, and beers are multiple brands. read more

Literally just stopped here on the way to Seattle to get some al-kee-hal. Wow!! Had no idea such places existed in states with more lax alcohol laws. Huge selection of different wines and hard alcohol. Also had a good selection of snackies in the back that typically go with your drink of choice. OK - I'm updating my previous review here... I needed some wine for Thanksgiving, and found an excellent price on a particular chardonnay at Total Wine & More. BevMo! is closer to me, so I called the local store and asked "Do you match competitor's prices?" and was told "Yes." Great - I hung up, drove down, and filled my cart with wine. Getting to the check-out, I pulled the Total WIne & More price on one of my wines and asked them to match, and was told "Sorry, they're more than 10 miles away - we won't match Total Wine's price." To clarify, Total Wine & More is in fact 18 miles away - I walked out at that point leaving about $150 worth of wine on their counter. Great job, jack-wagons! Not only did you lose a $150 sale last week, but you've lost all of my future business! I won't be spending another dime at BevMo! moving forward, and I do spend a decent number of dimes on wine! read more

I've missed BevMo from my California living days. I can't say this BevMo is as good as the ones I used to frequent, but I like that they're here. I picked up a bottle of Single Malt and a few really nice beers. And in a plus for WA over CA, we don't have the silly law that growlers can only be filled with the product painted on the label. So BevMo here has taps and you can fill your own. They have a pretty standardized and massive inventory in all their stores. So one of the flaws in Washington's beer/liquor/wine regulations is that every label/product needs to be licensed and getting that license requires someone to pay the fee. BevMo, based on their typical inventory, is the kind of place that will get 50 new Scotch selections and hundreds new beer labels approved. And that will trickle down to much better selection for all stores. There's nothing like them currently in Washington. They have more Grappa choices than WA has ever seen where if you could find three in a state liquor store it was a minor miracle. They have a great beer selection which will probably get better over time (and allow your local Full Throttle or 99 Bottles type place carry items that they couldn't pay the fee to get approved in the state on their own.) Welcome to the the 1990s of product choice Washington. What other states could sell for years is coming. read more

They appear to have have decent selection of liquor. It's by no means fantastic, but if you're looking for something the grocery stores don't carry then it's possible they'll have it here. Or if you're looking to spend less on the same products they carry at Metro Markets - look here. Also, the interim store manager was saying that they will be adding more product tailored to the local preferences. In their haste to get the store up and running the essentially just cut and paste the inventory from CA stores. So they will be getting more items. Also, while they have lots of beers it's pretty middle of the road and the prices aren't that great $7.99 for six-pack of Red Stripe. eh.... But the ABSOLUTE best thing about this store, is that for those of us who can appreciate the cheap thrill of poetic irony, the store is sited directly across the street from a Costco =D !! read more

We were so excited to see this new business pop up in Tacoma. We moseyed in the first week and took some time to really browse all the things they had to offer. And they have so much! They have a fully stocked liquor area, with more stock to come, they have a very large beer area, and taps to fill your growlers with. They have a pretty awesome wine selection, as well as glass wear to accompany your drinks. And to top it all off they have a snack section, with everything a drinkers heart desires! I know this place has been around for a while now but since we can purchase liquor at our local grocery store, I end up taking advantage of the convience so this is my first time in to BevMo. I had a specific beer I was looking for since I couldn't find it at the grocery and decided to try BevMo, walking in, I was promptly greeted as I wandered to the back area that had several large shelves of beer and well I was overwhelmed! Everything was labeled at the end of the aisle but I was in beer heaven and after walking up and down and grabbing a few selections that caught my eye, a friendly worker asked if I needed help and YES please!! I loved they the were super helpful and friendly and when I asked for a recommendation the reply was sincere and personal so I went with it and was not disappointed! I enrolled in the rewards program and saved $5 off my purchase and got another coupon for my next visit and whole lot more via email. I will be back! read more

Better than most options in the area and I like this BevMo over many others we have visited. Great service, easy to find items, and they have many more tastings than other similar places. Good beer selection, growlers, large cold area if you are opening something that evening, and they are always willing to order something. A warehouse full of booze, what could be better?! Prices are decent (except, of course, the Washington sin taxes), and the selection is amazing. We have a few brands we really like that aren't widely available, and they carry them all here. They also have a really decent selection of non-liquor products like mixers, snacks, and sodas (including my favorite brand which I haven't found anywhere else). Fighting to get to them is a bit tricky with the Costco across the street and an awkward parking lot, but it's worth it. As an added bonus, they have one of the best selections of locally-made liquors I've seen anywhere. read more

BevMo! is an awesome store and one of the best perks of the new law. They have pretty much every type of alcohol your heart could desire. And they're all at a great price. BevMo also has a great members club. It's free and easy to sign up and you get a discount on most items and once you reach $250 in purchases, you get a 5% off coupon. It's silly not to have a card and they can look you up by phone number after a few weeks. BevMo also has a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks, growler fills, snacks, and specialty glasses and items to make your favorite drinks. The location is not ideal for parking or for getting in or out of the small parking lot. The staff are always friendly and will open up a new lane when a line forms. read more

While I love the store itself, I'm extremely disappointed in the staff. I was harassed by the cashier for the ID that I have. I moved to Washington when I was 19, so I have a vertical ID instead of a horizontal. He said "I need to see your big girl ID". I told him that my ID is valid and he tried to tell me that he didn't have to accept it. He then proceeded to tell me I was wrong about it being acceptable and he was incredibly rude in doing so. He humiliated me in front of my friend and had me about to cry. I honest don't even want to return because he was so rude. I wish I'd gotten his name, but if you go in and a young man with light brown curly hair and glasses is at the register, consider going elsewhere. read more

The parking is lacking, however (again, maybe it was more busy because it was just opened). Terrible phone service. My restaurant ran out of quite a bit and I realize I'm calling on a Holiday weekend but that lady was rude as you could be. She raised her voice after simply asking her what was apparently a stupid question. She refused to give me her name otherwise she would be blasted in this review. Are they overworked? Understaffed? I try to avoid being overly critical on Yelp, but BevMo is a disappointment every time I go in, even when I try to go in with really low expectations. The only nice thing I can say is that they have a better selection than any other liquor store that I know of in the immediate area, so I do shop here occasionally when I need something specific and don't want to drive 20 minutes to Total Wine & More. So they get a star for that. Meanwhile, here are the things that frustrate me: Selection: Good but not great. For a store with this kind of square footage, I would like to see more variety, especially in the liquor section. Prices: Consistently higher than competitors. You might get lucky and hit a sale, but generally speaking you will pay more here than at other places. Beer prices are outrageous. Employee Training: While the employees are always polite and try to help, they are not well educated on the products carried in the store. Parking Lot: Plenty of parking, but turning left out of the lot is a borderline dangerous. While the location isn't technically the fault of the management, they could at least trim the bushes back so you can see oncoming traffic. Sorry if this sounds like a shill, but Total Wine & More is exactly the same kind of store and manages to do everything better by a wide margin. BevMo could get their act together and compete if they really wanted to, but they don't seem interested. read more

Pretty disappointed. We love coming here for the great selection; however, we ordered a keg and were told a certain price then we were called the day before we were to pick it up and told they couldn't get it. No biggy, we'd get something similar. They told us what they had and were not told that they new cider was $20+ more, we didn't find it until they rang us up. I came in and asked the employee where their Muscat was located at, she attempted to correct me, " You mean Moscato", "sure" I said being polite, while in my head, I'm thinking "Moscato is the Italian name for Muscat, but whatever" (and FYI, I bought both a bottle that said Moscato, and Muscat on them). The young lady took me right to it, which was nice; I had specific wines in mind that I wanted, and of course, they had NONE of them. This is the point when a Male employee came over to assist me, and I asked him if he had any Moscato that was made with peach, or even pear , because my favorite Moscato is Villa Rosa Moscato d'asti; made with peach, and apricot. He said no, that he had no Moscato's made with peach, but they had some sparkling peach, and green apple wine that he could show me, in which I declined. I started to read the labels to see if he may have missed, or been unaware of one, and guess what, I'd say that a large portion of their Moscato's had... Ding, ding, ding, you guessed it, PEACH in them. I love wine, I know basics of wine, but not a whole lot, and I was shocked at how little the employee's knew, and how they didn't carry a single wine that I was looking for. The prices were so so, some good, some not so good, so just like any other store, just keep an eye out for specials. I would highly suggest that they teach their employee's something new about wine every week, or even give incentive to those who study about products they carry on their off time, maybe even have weekly scavenger hunts that just lists the descriptions of some products, and whoever can name the most products off of the description wins and gets something, even their names put into a drawling, just something, because they REALLY need to be more knowledgeable of their products. I'm not going to buy a car from a baker, so why would I want to buy wine from someone who knows nothing about what their talking about? They seem to have a decent variety of wines, so I'll be back, hope I have better luck finding items that I'm after next time. read more

They say this is Costco's worst nightmare. So I drive by this place on the way to work. It's right off the freeway and every morning while I sit at the light (which was confirmed as the longest light in Tacoma by TNT) I would see the bits of progress on this place. For the longest time I had no idea what it was and then I saw the bevmo sign and did a little research. This had me excited. The one thing I hated about the state run stores of yesteryear, was the average selection. Very little new items over the years and having to search out interesting types of whiskey and bourbons. Anyways, the place opened on the 27th and on the 29th I was able to ride over on my break and check it out. The guy said they soft opened on wednesday and were planning a grand opening on the 13th of July, so mark your calendars. Signed up for my bevmo card up front and then started to wander. I was told this is the first bevmo to offer growler fills. They have empty growlers on hand and I was told you can bring your own in as well. They have 10 taps if I remember right and 9 were open for fills today. A nice selection and fairly good pricing. This is awesome! The beer selection seems nice. I actually came back later in the day to show a friend of mine this place since he's big into beer and big into whiskey. He liked that they had the beers arranged by type, such as IPA's, etc. They have a decent cider selection and prices are fair. The spire is cheaper than anywhere else and some of the random stuff isn't bad either. I did see some new stuff(beer) I hadn't seen elsewhere and my buddy seemed fairly impressed. He said beer prices were good on some things, overpriced on others. Will have to shop it and know your prices if you're trying to save a buck. Whiskey!!! I love whiskey, it's really the only hard alcohol I drink. Because I'm a man and that's what real men drink. Right? Okay, maybe not, I know some super cool ladies that will drink a jack and coke with the best of us. All jokes aside, nice selection here. Shelves were not filled, but it's a soft opening and the over eager employee said it should be fully stocked by the 13th of July. Pricing wise, some cheaper and some more spendy. These new laws are cool and all, but man, I feel like I need to write pricing down so I know if I'm getting ripped off or not. I don't drink one whiskey, I like to try new things, etc. This makes it tough. Politics aside, they did have a nice, varied selection. Lots of things I hadn't seen before and things I didn't think I'd ever see in Washington state. The "mini" section was kind of lacking since it's always been fun to grab one on the way out and try something new for a couple of bucks. Everything is about $2 and with the tax, more towards $3, not good price, not much to choose from. PS It appears as if they will have 190 everclear. Shelf was empty, but the tag was there. Let's blow fire! They also had cigars and wine. I don't drink wine and I don't smoke cigars. My buddy said the cigars were priced fairly high and we walked away once that was clear. Never stepped foot in the wine section. Outside of beverages. They've got the paper plates and cups, some glassware/pint glasses, little bit of food, water, chips, etc. A nice place to stop if you're throwing a party and it involves beverages and not much else. Now, onto the bummer. The one thing I dislike about new stores is they're generally overstaffed and every employee seems to be trying out for the big leagues. Like they know that the slackers are gonna get cut, so everyone is dressed to impress. And this day was no different. Down every aisle there was some new guy asking if I was having any problems finding something or if I had any questions. There was even a plain clothes guy on the root beer aisle who had to have been "under cover" because he was seriously interested in the paper plates behind me and wouldn't let me leave his sight until I grabbed a couple sarsaparillas and moved back over to the beer. No idea if this was the case and I should have asked him because it got kind of awkward as I spent a couple of minutes looking at the selection and he was checking labels on the paper plates like they were full of corn syrup or something. I understand you want your job and the boss is watching you like a hawk, but seriously, back off. If I say I don't need any help, drop it and leave. Don't stand there awkwardly or try to continue conversation. I'll drop a star for over eager employees. I kinda wanna dock a point for the location. It's a great location, visibility wise and getting into the place is easy. It's getting out that is insane. With the main intersection lasting forever and the mini light you hit before you get to the big intersection, it's just madness. I'd almost rather go the long way down to South Tacoma Way or something. Even in the middle of the day this area is a nightmare. Will have to time this place right for sure! read more
