Be careful on buying expired beer. First sip and I knew something was off. Voodoo ranger that I bought off the shelf expired in July. Unfortunately I live in Beverly Hills, so returning the beer to this location isn't worth it. 2 stars because the guy was nice at the register and greeted everyone that came in. I used to go here a lot more than I have been lately. A good local option for grabbing a gift or something before heading out to a dinner party or weekend away, but having to navigate the random boxes within the aisles or trying to find some help becaome a chore. Their prices aren't the best to begin with and it seems like it's been getting more expensive lately, compared to the competition that is. Came here to buy a gift for a white elephant gift exchange guy at register sold me on a second whiskey box set that wasn't used. Attempted to return the second unused gift box after the new year within 30 days but consequently after 7 days and was told No No No! My wife and me wanted to buy 4 small bottles (50ml) of Brandy/Kahlua for cooking so my wife puts the bottles on the counter and I am pulling out my wallet to buy them. The cashier asked for my ID which I gave him for scanning and I was about to pay then he said "I have to see her ID as well since she put the bottles on the counter".....I said "but I am getting these and I am paying" but he insisted. I use to be a regular customer here but never again!!!!! I have an outdoor bar entertainment center and can't seem to get what I need to keep my kegerator stocked. Every time I order a keg they can never seem to follow through with the order. When I went into the store on the day the keg was promised I was told they haven't had a delivery from there vendor for a Corona in 5 months! Then why did they tell me the keg should be in this Thursday "today" two bays before my party and no time to source it anymore else. This is the message that was left on my phone today; "Hello this message is for Harry this is Danny calling from the BevMo in Simi Valley I see right here that there's a ticket for a request for a corona keg to we just got a shipment from our vendor and unfortunately they were out of the corona keg him you are more than welcome to come in and see what we have in stock and hopefully we can find a beer that you would like and sorry for the inconvenience and we hope to see you soon..." Here's a rant based on a lousy management experience. Steve is Mananger. I called to ask if I could exchange a bottle of Single Malt Fine Whiskey due to a dry crumbled cork breaking upon opening the bottle. He said "We can't do anything over the phone" in a nasty tone. I said I was calling to see what the policy was regarding such a minor problem and can I exchange it for a new one. I also offered to buy another bottle to sweeten the exchange arrangement. He said one thing had zero to do with the other. WTF He said he needed a receipt or proof of purchase. I told him I use cash and don't have a receipt. Steve basically told me he felt I didn't buy this $65+ item at his store. I DID! Really crappie customer service. I know I've spent thousands there over the years since that store has been open. Not anymore. I would not recommend this location. It doesn't have a great reputation. Lots of similar complaints on Yelp. read more

I wrote a poor review for this BevMo in July 2023 because they wanted to scan my license for my wine purchase. I am 74 years old, so there is no logical reason to scan my license other than to harvest data. I haven't been back to BevMo since, but today I needed some bitters for making cocktails. I picked up a $14 bottle of bitters, but when I went to the cashier he wanted my ID!!! There is NO alcohol in a bottle of bitters. I left without purchasing and went right next door to Walmart and purchased the exact same bottle of bitters for $9. Really BevMo....WAKE UP! read more

If I can give less than one star I would. I asked my daughter to hold a bottle of lemoncello for me for one minute while I looked for tomato juice, and then they refused to let me purchase. i went here last Friday for the first time. i was looking for a dessert brandy and also getting wine and coffee liqueur. My 16 year old son and i walked in and i grabbed a basket he saw they had a soda he like so he proceeded to put a few in the basket. i than grabbed some wine and was on the hunt for the brandy. the basket was already heavy for me so my son said mom i will hold basket for you. he and i walked down the aisle with no sales or people to help me find dessert brandy. so i gave up grabbed some coffee liqueur and walked up to register. my son put basket down and this man came to register. i asked about brandy and said "he couldn't help me with out me knowing the name of brandy "i was like ok fine, than asked for my license. he than told me i could only buy coffee liqueur since my son was carrying basket with wine and he was underage. i said you are kidding me he said" no i am not. "i was livid that he told me what i could and could not buy. of course we left and went to local liquor store and was happy i spent my $140.00 there at a small establishment who let my son carry basket while shopping and of course helped me find the dessert brandy. i walked out with all the items that i purchased. read more

Ordered items on their website using a coupon received in the mail for pick up later. Decided to order more items on separate transaction if coupon still worked. When I arrived to pick up items they had run my credit card for higher amount on second transaction because I tried to use coupon twice. Attitude from first person that helped me made me feel as if I was stealing from him. Will never buy anything from Bevmo again. Their system applied the discount on the online purchase. If coupon works why wouldn't I take the discount. Terrible customer service. FIrst and last purchase from this company. Going back to Costco where they appreciate your business. read more

Stopped in with my boyfriend to pick up a Vodka he had heard great things about, found it and score it was on sale! Picked up a couple other things and went to check out. When it rang up it sounded more expensive than I thought so I questioned him on it and the Vodka was $10.00 more than the sale price. He asked us to show him where we got it, we did and he could clearly see the tag and the other bottles of the same Vodka and took the tag off the shelf. He went back and called the manager, Steve. Steve came up and the kid handed him the tag and we took him back to the shelf where we grabbed the bottle. So Steve proceeds to tell us it's for a different vodka, and the next time we have a question about something not to remove the tag, in a very nasty, very aggressive tone. We both replied we did not remove it that the cashier had, he got even nastier and told us how was he suppose to know that and for us to calm down! He did sell the Vodka to us at the price on the sales tag but was not happy about it and made sure we knew he wasn't! Not sure how he made manager being so rude and hateful! We won't be back, and I told my boyfriend that Vodka better be damn good! read more

I'm not sure what happened to this Bev Mo location but it's time for me to update my original review. First, I don't recommend using their Online Order Store Pick-up feature because both times I've used it, pick up has been awkward in the store. You have to go to the corner and yell over a wall to ask for your items - which are at another location. Next, every time I've been in here lately the employees have either stepped in front of me as I'm walking - one employee just walked right into me as I was trying to walk out the front door. Or, they block aisles with carts and boxes. It seems like they're never ready to receive customers. Hopefully they can get the quirks worked out with online orders and employees can be more mindful of customer shopping experiences. read more

Steve came into my personal space and I felt threatened. He was within two inches of my face becuase my husband wasn't wearing a mask. My husband had to get in between him and me and tell him to leave me alone. He also called my husband a tough guy. Way to be be professional. Horrible experience... Went in to purchase alcohol for a weekend camping trip, while on the way to coach my 15 year old sister in tennis. Little did I know they would not sell to me, a 24 year old man, if they could not check my 15 year old sister's id. I assured them she wasn't drinking, as she is only 15. The little manager man then told me she wasn't allowed in the store without a parent. I've never seen that sign anywhere. I then asked if I could return after tennis without her and he replied that he still could not sell to me. It was quite appalling to be treated like a criminal and being accused of trying to buy alcohol or my 15 year old sister. I will never go back to this BevMo and I hope everyone else does the same.
