Smaller liquor store but had what I wanted when BevMo was out. I'm not a huge drinker, mostly cook with the stuff, but from what first the employee told me they have a pretty solid collection. The lady with blond hair who works behind the counter is so rude and always has a nasty attitude. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have made a purchase here and she is behind the counter, I always get my card THROWN back at me even when I have my hand out to recieve it. To me that is very disrespectful. However, the brunet woman who i have encountered only 2-3 times is very sweet and personable. One of the cheapest places to buy cigarettes in Simi plus their liquor & wine selection is impressive. I've seen a number of great deals during their "random sales," like a 750ml bottle of Single Barrel Jack, normally $60+, scored for 30 bucks! Family-owned and has been around for years, the owner is super nice and always available for a chat or a recommendation. Great little local liquor store. I buy my Lotto tickets here occasionally and enjoy the nice conversation with the owner. Also, as a bonus if you are into this, they often have liquor dealers on site at a nice little bar they have set up who offer free samples on Fridays and Saturdays. I am not encouraging drinking and driving or anything, but if I am not driving I often try one of their mixed drinks and on occasion have purchased what they are selling. This location is very clean and they have a convenient large parking lot right off Los Angeles Avenue. I read from one of the other reviewers that their prices are a little high. I did not find this to be the case unless of course you are comparing them to WalMart or Costco and even grocery stores have high prices compared to them; And for a case of beer or a bottle of wine we are only talking about a few cents anyways; gosh some people just don't understand that local small businesses have to make a living less we be left with only WalMart and Costco. Therefore, I am a proud supporter of local small businesses such as Venture Liquors and am grateful for the service, clean environement, and nice local selection. read more

Place has fallen out of my good graces. After spending an average of about $350 plus a month there in beer, wines, spirits, munchies,etc., I got attitude a while back when I tried to exchange dried up, old cigars that I spent $20 on. Never went back since. read more

I walked in recently to pick up a shorty 6-pack of tonic for a few G&Ts when I got home. Lo and behold when the guy at the cash register told me the tab was $8 I just about fell over! There is no way that tonic could or should cost that much. Note to self, stay away from this liquor store, there are many others out there that will charge a fair (read: sane) price for their products. The 2 women who were working there on 9/9/16 @ 12:40 pm do not know the meaning of basic customer service, crabby, Atrocious and controlling, to say the least!!!! We were involved in a car accident & pulled into the parking lot to exchange info. We were pretty shaking up from the impact. I went into the store to ask for a piece of paper to write & exchange insurance info. As soon as I asked for this favor, the older women, in a very angry tone tells me we can not park on lot & to go somewhere else to do that. The the parking was for customers only, & the last people who had an accident in front of the store use their parking lot & it took them 3 hours & inconvenienced their customers, and that surely we would take that long as well. I was shocked, I couldn't believe how nasty & angry this women was. There was another coworker there, & she was a bit more compassionate, & gave me the piece of paper, but reinforced what the other woman said & repeatedly told me to get the cars off the lot, mind you I was just the passenger in this accident. I was hurt & shaky & could bearly walk, as I suffer with mobility problems & use a cane to walk. I couldn't believe how nasty they were to me!!! I was appalled and angry & had a verbal exchange. I left the store & relayed to the others what had transpired in the store. I felt obligated to make a purchase. I entered the store once again to make a purchase. Again the older women is still angry & vile, & and the other lady joined in & would let up. They were sure we would take 3 hours to exchange info!!! I lost it & couldn't control the F U that slipped out!!! And they F Ued me back. The cars were moved to the furthest corner of the parking lot by the time I got outside. It only took 10 minutes to exchange info, not 3hrs. We encountered a police woman in our neighborhood & that store is in her patrol territory. We asked her if it was wrong to have pulled in to that parking lot to gather the info & take pictures. She said it was perfectly fine to do so, as there was nowhere else, due to all lanes are designed for traffic & no parking on the street. I highly recommend that you take your business somewhere else these women are vile and don't deserve to have you as a customer!!! I posted on their FB page too, they blocked me!!
