Placed an order for pickup. Even came after the pickup window and order wasn't ready. Wanted to save time so I can be in and out of the store and still had to wait because they couldn't find one of the items on my order. Don't provide a time slot for pickup if the order can't be ready by that time. And don't have something available online for order if the item is not available at the store. Sales guy was right in the middle of doing something and when asked a question he stopped what he was doing to walk around the store for 20m to help me understand more options of the type of beer I like. A great BevMo branch and my go-to stop for any and all forms of alcohol. The store is nicely laid out and the staff have generally been very helpful over the course of my many visits. I'm especially a fan of the gift sets which are fantastic for friends and family who love their ethanol as much as I do. My one small gripe is that I haven't been able to find a couple of highly desired brews recently, namely Stone's Vertical Epic. That aside, no complaints! read more

BevMo has the best selection of alcohol in the area by far. The staff here is always super friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. They carry a very wide array of wines, beers, and hard alcohol/spirits with prices to match... something for everyone. Keep up the great work y'all. read more

Great selection of wines and they usually have a bunch on the buy one get one for 5¢ deal. Markup on the more "ordinary" items is obscene. For instance, a small bottle of juice is $5, which would normally be MAYBE $3 in any given grocery store. Same with limes, sodas, and other mixers. Staff here is very friendly and willing to give you suggestions. They usually lead me to some good choices. TL;DR: Bevmo is best for their wines and spirit selections. Don't get suckered into paying more for basic items out of convenience. Buy the mixers at the grocery store. read more

I had a terrible experience at this BevMo last night. I wish I could give 0 stars for customer service. I came in to get a nice bottle of vodka as a present. The bottle i wanted was locked in a case. The only employee around was the one helping a steady line of customers at the register. After looking around for 3 or 4 minutes looking for someone to help me, I interrupted a conversation among the 3 employees in the cigar area who were chatting with one of their friends. The employee who helped me was reasonably nice and got my bottle from the case. The cashier rang me up, I ran my VISA through the machine, and the cashier asked me for my ID. This is where my experience went from annoying to terrible. I try to be non-confrontational, but I am not interested in having my identity stolen. So I don't show my ID for purchases. VISA agrees with this, and includes in their merchant agreement a rule that allows merchants to ask for ID, but prohibits merchants from requiring ID (it's on page 34 of the current "Card-acceptance-guidelines-for-visa-merchants", available currently at: http://usa.visa.com/download/merchants/card-acceptance-guidelines-for-visa-merchants.pdf). When the cashier asked for my ID I used my standard line: "The card's signed." This works most of the time. Occasionally, I'll get this cashier's response that it's their policy, and I reply "It can't be because VISA prohibits requiring ID. You can ask, but I'm allowed to say no." Usually this works, or sometimes (like this time) they'll call over a manager. It took 4 or 5 minutes for the supervisor to make his way all the way from the cigar station to the cashier (about 10 yards), while the line grew from 1 to 10 people behind me. I apologized to them for the wait, and even the people in line told me not to worry. Finally, Kevin (the supervisor) came over, and was extremely rude. I'll not bore with the details of the conversation, but he made it clear that he thought I was being an idiot for not wanting to show my ID, that he thought it was absolutely company policy to require to show ID on purchases of $50 or more, that I was wasting his time, and that I was free to call their corporate office if I had a complaint. I do have a complaint Kevin, and your customer service is terrible. Depending on the result of my call to the Corporate Offices on Monday, I'll never shop at this location again. read more

My husband and I came in this location a few weeks ago for a party, to pick up a keg that my mom had ordered, and when we saw the bill for it - not sure if it's worth it! Came close to 300$ for a super small keg and 6 bags of ice (which they price the ice at 5.99$ so GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR ICE). The bucket that we rented was dirty, had been missing a handle, and when I questioned why the bucket was dirty and was charged a bucket cleaning fee... All the guy could say was they bleach the buckets.. Yet, ours had dirt and branches in it. Customer service is just ehh, at least the beer was good and they end up giving you your "deposit" back. read more

The order ahead and pick up option is awesome. I hate walking around this place because there's too many options. I always end up confused and overstimulated when I go to BevMo or any big box store, so the option to pick up orders is awesome-- especially for the hard to find bottles of fine whiskey. I don't have to drive around or call a ton of stores to find whay I need. read more

BevMo is very up/down. I've visited this location several times and here are my good/bad comments: GREAT selection, clean store, good gift accessories/stuff. Not so good comments (sometimes downright bad): At times, check out is a nightmare! Slow employees that seem completely lost. Also, prices tend to be much higher for regular items that Safeway and Lucky's carry too. Bottom line: if I need something on my way home, something a bit unusual, BevMo is the place. I don't come here often and when I do, it's for something specific. We had friends coming over and when they do, we usually get some sort of craft or local beer. We had a tough time this time around trying to choose as we had gone through our known names already. It's always tough picking a beer without knowing anything about it. The selection is always great, although sometimes we don't find the brand we're looking for. I do want to mention that staff is generally helpful, but this last time, there was a young man who helped us who COULD NOT STOP SWEARING. Like bro. I get that you're trying to be casual, but this ain't the hood corner store. It was "Oh yeah, I haven't tried it, but I heard it was f#$%ing awesome" or "That stuff is s*$#, don't bother". Put me off a bit... Most other employees are professional and helpful though. If they don't know the answer, they find someone who can and give a good recommendation. read more

Dropped in to pick up some beverages for a weekend away. Quickly picked up the beer we wanted and made our way to the wine section for a gift for a friends birthday. We wanted something NICE in the $100 area but got stuck by all the selections. crap! In comes (Scott??) an wine guy, older, balding . Was a GREAT help. Very knowledgeable and broke it all down for us. (we know a bit about wine but this guy was awesome). I could have hung out and asked this guy questions for hours but our drunk fest awaited so off we went. The lady at the register was very friendly and quickly got us out the door. Bev Mo baby! They have great vino sales, but for boutique wines they rotate a lot. So it can be hit or miss. The ones I usually love they end up not having the next time I go in. I do the love the beer selection (and I'm not a beer girl.) They have incredible sour beers, which are hard to find. The only bar I know that has good sour beer is the Liars Club in Alpine worth the drive and will be my next review. I prefer to support the smaller stores with small business owners, but for a big box they keep it niche. Sometimes they will even have beer, wine, cheese, and other liquor tastings. I am a big fan of Bevmo and buy kegs from them all the time, but this particular store sucks. The manager here won't let you return kegs without an original receipt. Lose your receipt, and you have to keep the keg - even if you're buying a new keg and just doing an exchange. This is ridiculous. I won't be coming back to this Bevmo again. read more

Ok, so some of the people working there don't know shit, the lines move slowly, and it's hard at times to find someone to open a glass case for you. And with Smart and Final next door now, parking sucks sometimes too. Then of course there's the holiday's, I'd rather have hemorrhoid surgery than go there on Christmas or New Year's Eve. Still, BevMo has just about everything you need and their prices are almost as good as it gets. I mean, where else are you going to go? Long's and Rite-Aide have good deals on booze SOMETIMES, liquor and grocery stores are a complete rip-off, and Costco is a pain in the ass as well with a smaller selection. My husband and I don't drink anything alcoholic however a nice bottle of champagne can be the perfect gift (for someone else) so we do shop here. I really like the size and selection at this location. The staff are polite and quick to help too. The website is perfect because it will tell me the price, what a professional reviewer thought (so I pick the perfect bottle of wine even though I don't drink it), and if its in stock at this local store. Heck I can buy it online and go pick it up or have it delivered, how easy is that! They have a good selection of soda's, chips and dips too. They can be expensive but they have a wide range of prices if your looking for a cheaper bottle of wine check the website! They also sell some bar and stemware. Bought some Christmas presents here this year and will do so again. read more

We come here for restocking liquor. It's hard to beat a 1.75L bottle of Svedka Vodka for $20 (it's great, give it a shot - literally) and since honeymooning in Barbados we've become rum snobs and will only drink Mount Gay Rum (it's okay, you can giggle, I won't tell) and they sell it way cheaper than say, Safeway. We've bought wine before, but nothing that's stuck as a favorite. We picked up a six pack of Anderson Valley Summer Solsitice after returning from Anderson Valley and it was sour. Your better off finding good beer and quality wine at Costco. read more

Bevmo has a incredible selection of liquor from all over the world. Once you join as a member it's not that expensive either. They carry Three Olives Vodka which I've found very hard to get from regular liquor stores. I love making Chocolate or Espresso Martinis and BEVMO is the only place where I can find those flavors. read more

I love this place, but for myself I only buy beer here. I have bought wine and champagne as gifts for people, and I have never had any complaints as to the wine tasting poor. What I do seem to run into when I am at BevMo is the same elitist crap that I see posted here - it is a warehouse store for crying out loud. Complaining that the wine is not the best at BevMo is like saying that the burger you had at In 'n' Out is not as good as the steak you had at Mortons/El Gaucho/[Insert Ultra Elite Steak Place Here]. This place has a great selection of tons of beers from around the world. There is also a nice selection of cigars. Also, the staff was much more knowledgable than I would have expected for a warehouse type store. read more

I used to be a huge Bev head but after today I am no more. I was highly let down. My sister is 24 and I'm 22, we walked up to the counter and the woman didn't greet us or anything. Simply asked rudely, "I need both your id's" since I wasn't buying it I only had my UCSB id on me. The grouchy woman proceeded to have someone higher above, who looked way too young to work there, come over just to tell us they refuse to sell to us in the rudest way possible. I am a regular customer and have never had them ask for id's from both people. I wouldn't have had a problem if she was nice about it but her lack of customer service was just plain pathetic. It's not that hard to be nice, I work customer service around the holidays too and even just a simple, "Hi" doesn't hurt. Definitely gonna be a Total Wine customer from now on. Sorry BevMo but your lack of customer service has given me a change of heart. Total Wine here I come! Lastly, the fact that they called the cops on a kind black family and had eight white cops show up is appalling but that's a whole other can of worms I'm not even getting into. read more

Of the different BevMo's I've visited I've had the best luck with service at this one. I've received good recommendations from the folks tending the cigar counter, quite a bit of help with wine, and great fun talking about options in the beer area. I've not had the consistently good customer service at other locations so this is always my preferred spot to stop. I even got my keg of Guinness here for my wedding. read more

I really love that they carry Oogave sodas, Fever Tree ginger ale, and Cheerwine. Between those three things, my Mom and I are covered soda-wise. I almost wish we we weren't, because the soda selection tends to stay interesting. If I was allowed to totally indulge my inner sugar fiend, I might just have a field day. I can also always count on them to have Mom's favorite bourbon. For me, it's all about choice and discovering new things. I just discovered High West Distillery, so I'm not sure if that's a recent addition to the bourbon selection or not or not. I just know they had a selection to choose from, which was nice to see. Their dessert wine offerings seem to have expanded, but most of the new things seem to be different types of moscato d'asti. I love moscato but a little more breadth would be nice. I don't think I saw a single late harvest zin or orange muscat. The craff beer selection seems to have shrunk. Beer is where I tend to spend my mad money at BevMo, but today I didn't have any excuse to go overboard. It might have been an off day, but I've had a couple of those as of late. As convenient as this location is for me, I will probably contine to pop in regularly for our family standards. But at least for the moment, I'm not sure I will do tons of browsing or impulse buying. read more

I come here every week to stock up on a few craft beers, and am satisfied every time I leave. What I like most about this location in particular is their staff. Very helpful and nice people. Every time I check out, the cashier is always recommending new beers for me to try, what's good, what's not worth the price, etc. Not only are they very kind - they actually know their shit really well too. It's nice to talk to someone, in person, who is knowledgeable about beer and microbreweries; compared to discussing it in some forum on the internet. read more
