Plus there is also another drink they do not sell either. It's called Monaco Watermelon Tequila crush. So I must get them elsewhere! BevMo use to sell them a few years ago. But since it is on website, I feel that is false advertising! I've asked every employee in both stores and they cannot even request/ order it! So I will never buy from this store ever. First time user of BevMo to deliver alcohol. I placed an order on line at BevMo for 1.75 liter of Crown Royal, paid extra for it to be wrapped, and typed out a note of appreciation to the recipient and then closed with who it was from. The Modesto Sisk Road store was responsible for delivery of the order. Imagine how impressed my client was when he received a bottle of alcohol in a plain brown 86 shopping bag. NO Gold Wrapping as I had paid extra for. No "Who Is It From" card. No "Who Does It Go To" instructions. Just a bottle of booze in a brown paper sack. How impressed my client must have been. It's a good thing I followed up with their office staff after delivery because they had NO IDEA who to deliver the bottle to or who it was from. Very professional BevMo Sisk Road Modesto. manager wanted to sell me wine on a saturday, he said he has stock at his house. I asked if I would buy 6 bottles of chard, can he give me a deal and he said yes. I LOVE a deal but he also mentioned I need to pay him in crypto. At this point I just bailed. I won't call his name, but what do you all think? does a Bevmo manager have the ability to sneak a case of wine out of the store and sell it to me for Crypto? Anyhow, looking at the prices other places in Modesto have the same wine and price that I need without asking me for Crypto. Perhaps it is just the local guy but even the gal that rang me up said if I wanted a discount I could sign up, then the manager came to help. IS THIS REAL or am I getting scammed? I then left, they wanted too much info. Does anyone have similiar encounters with bevmo? have you worked there before and if you have, did you see and shady manager doing odd things? please discuss. When ordering via delivery service, BevMo does not send items as requested. All items ordered in small quantity eg.. Specifically Craft beer, soda etc. They do not send Cold as requested, they do not ensure items are discretely place in bag for delivery. Their professionalism is highly suspect. read more

Great customer service! They did not have the wine I was looking for, but they took the time to look through their inventory to ensure that they didn't carry it. When I found some thing close to the register that I was interested in the cashier helped me find some thing related, but that was even better. Used to be my go to for beer, liquor and wine, used to be. They were acquired a while back by another company and since then the level of service at all of our local locations has diminished dramatically. In addition to the level of service diminishing,, the overall knowledge and experience of the employees is noticeably less than it has ever been. Folks on the staff are more than capable of pointing you to the area of the store you are looking for, but beyond that you are on your own. read more

Went in on tuesday 12/19/23 about 20 minutes before they closed looking for a bottle that online said the store had 16 in stock but there was no more on display so i kindly asked the Asian chick on the closing shift ( i dont know her name) if she can check for me and she just said if its not in the glass cabinet then they dont have anymore (glass shelf fits maybe like 6 of them lol) i left it at that. I really wanted the bottle as it was going to be a gift so i asked the lady if she can check the back for me atleast and she did not want to even make the effort to do anything else than to just tell me no. I'm so grateful that my wife and I found this store. We've been in the area for my wife's job and we had been having a hard time finding quality wines from outside of California. We were given a recommendation to come here by another liquor store and I'm thankful for that rec. BevMo has the best wine selection I've seen so far in Modesto and they have a good number of specialty ciders, sake, and other spirits as well. The space is quite large and holds drinks from a variety of different regions and there's also a large section of the store that's dedicated to things that accompany your drinks, like foods and mixers, which is super convenient and has saved me from having to make trips to multiple stores. Everyone that's helped us there has been friendly and overall we've had nothing but positive experiences here. read more

The staff and management are wonderful. No issues there, it's the constant marking up above msrp that is just not right. There's a retail list price and just because they can BevMo pushes the pricing up. I'm now a regular at Total Wine & More. They sell at MSRP and no above list price just to put it to their customers. Ordered a bottle online. Order was cancelled a few minutes later. I tried the Riverbank store and ordered the same bottle but bought 2. They called me 5 minutes later and said they don't have any???Bottles listed on the app are being sold and no bottles available. Credit card processed then credited later. Allocated bottles are being sold at store and not updating on the app. No info given when new bottles are available. Also it seems when they send out $10-15 off any liquor purchase everything sells out fast. I think private store owners are buying these bottles at a discount and jacking up the price to sell in their stores to make a huge profit. Also allocated bottles are being hidden in the store for friends etc... I order a bottle in the Tracy store and said they had 8 bottles of four roses. They couldn't find it because they were in the back room? Took them 10 minutes to find it. Spoke to customer service and no help at all. Pretty sad. Don't think I'll shop at any BevMo anymore. My daughter just turned 21 on August 18th. Lucky me she can now run my liquor errands! Today, August 24, she went into the Modesto store with her boyfriend who won't be 21 until November. Shouldn't matter his age, right?? Nope. The cashier (sorry - she didn't get her name) said she wouldn't sell it to her because she was going to give it to her underage boyfriend!! I make the rounds of BevMos (Pleasanton, Livermore and various San Francisco spots) and this is my favorite. Why? It's never crowded, the staff is both knowledgeable and friendly, and they have Cheerwine! Some of the bigger stores have more variety, but they managed to surprise me today with Bacon Maple Ale from Rogue. I wish I could give them negative stars. I called asking for crown royal apple, the girl said they do have it in stock. I drove 40 min to be told they were supposed to get 4 cases that morning and didn't get any. He obviously was sure about that because he then walked away. I tried to ask if he knew anywhere that carried it, he offered to call the riverbank BevMo..But then immediately walked to help another customer. I passed the manager and he asked if I had been helped, I told him a worker said he would call the riverbank bevmo for me since I had driven 40 minutes to get there, and the manager replied well we are obviously too busy right now. It was so unprofessional, and frustrating. I would rather drive the extra 20 additional minutes to the riverbank bevmo than come back to this store. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Probably the best and most diverse selection for beer and hard alcohol in town. If you are looking for the hard to find stuff you should probably look here. I definitely come here when I am looking for the micro-brews that no one else carries. With the more popular name brand selections your local grocery store might be able to beat BevMo on price. This is one of the things that keeps me from shopping here more often. The wine selection is diverse, but they seem to fail on changing out selections very often to keep you coming back. They also seem to do a fairly poor job of moving out old selections of white wine when they should be blown out for super cheap prices. Beware when buying white wine from here as there is a fair amount of fairly old white wine on the shelves that might be oxidized. Keynote - pay attention to vintage on white wine here. One of my other beefs about BevMo is most of the ratings on the wines are from their own critic, which I believe creates a tad bit of self interest conflict. Would be nice if they did away with this strategy and moved to outside sources for rating their wine. I also preferred when their tastings focused on either wine or beer, instead of how they do them now where they mix the beer and wine tastings. Seems to divide the focus for the customer. Their 5 cent sales are killer and they are also doing Mix & Match price discounts, which allows you to buy different bottles and get a strong discount. I am a bring fan of the latter strategy as it allows you to not have to buy two of the same bottles. Strong supporter of the store and believe they are easily within reaches of 5 stars. read more

Great store for anything but fresh craft beer. I've shopped here off and on for many years and unless there are some born on or expiration dates, I will never buy beer there again. Recently had family over for a holiday and bought 5 different craft brews, of which only one had a date of bottling. Big mistake. The other four brews were over 5 months old....an eternity for an IPA to be in a package. I frequently buy St Archer IPA from other stores and while you can't see the date the beer was canned until you open the boxes 6'pack, I have never once had any over 6 months....until I bought it at BevMo. 8 month old IPA is not very good. For out of towners, this is but one storefront of a regional chain. This one is a very nice, clean, well designed liquor store. A very decent selection at all price levels. Please be aware that I am comparing this to the liquor stores in Denver, where at least three different liquor stores claim to be the largest in the nation. But what really impressed me was their wall, at least 40' long, of various small name sodas. Wanted to buy one of everything on that wall, just to try it. One downside was that many of the moderate to high end labels were locked up in display cases. Rather clumsy to pull bottles. On the other hand, it is an excellent way to control inventory and the display cases were very well organized. read more

While at my favorite place to pick up a 6 pack of my favorite tasty beverage I noticed a small refrigerator next to the entrance. It's to the right side as you walk in, what's in it? Caviar! Yeah Caviar at BevMo and the fridge is locked. How good could this stuff really be and who buys it? It's kind of in a blind spot too, you don't really see it when you walk in and with the registers on the opposite side of the entrance you don't really see it going out. Personally I think it's a waste of good refrigerator space. They don't keep my favorite beer in the refrigerated section so I have to take it home and wait until it hits the perfect temperature. I could easily get a couple of cases of beer into the Caviar fridge and make a lot of people happier including me than the few that buy whatever caviar is in there. That aside, BevMo has a really good selection of micro brews. I'm fairly certain any location (they are only in CA & AZ) is worth checking out. Definitely sign up for the BevMo card you get about a $1 off on most 6 packs if you do, as well as discounts on other marked items. read more

The thing I love most about this place is their customer service. Their associates are friendly, knowledgeble, and helpful. Whether I was selecting tequila, champagne, or orange liquer, an associate was able to assist me in making a purchase that suited my taste and budget. I have actually learned a few things talking to them. An associate named Steven really went "the extra mile" for me. I wanted a half case of a particular champagne for a party. There was only 1 bottle available on Bevmo's website ,and the Modesto Bevmo only had 2 in stock. Steven told me that there were other Bevmos that had this champagne in stock ,but they were located pretty far away. Steven arranged for the other bottles to be delivered to the Modesto location in time for my party! read more

They have a pretty good selection of craft beers here. Customer service is great and the staff has a fairly good knowledge of craft beers. they do from time to time carry special releases like Stone's anniversary batches but they keep them in the back and available upon request....I think this is a plus because they only give one per customer and it gives more people a chance to check out those hard to find beers. What I like about this place is the simplicity of shopping. I can go online and browse their site. Find what I want, order it, pay for it, and have it shipped to the Modesto store, that is if they don't have it in stock and sometimes what I order they don't have. I can choose the day and time of day I want to pick it up. Then drive there, show them my drivers license to prove who I am and pick up my order and go. No waiting in line, no watching the person in front of me fumbling through their wallet or purse looking for their card, cash or membership card. Just show and go.
