Drive a little further and go to Total Wine and More! Total Wine and more has a far superior selction and much cheaper prices. I usually make the trip to Total Wine on Arden if I have the time, but being that I live in Elk Grove, every now and then I don't have the time and just stop by BevMo. Don't get me wrong, BevMo has a good selection and very friendly/helpful employees. On average I would guess that bottles of alcohol are at least a couple to a few dollars cheaper at Total Wine. If you're only buying one though, and don't want to drive, BevMo might be a better choice for the convenience factor. About three months ago I picked up a BevMo keg list for my kegorator. For Super Bowl weekend I ordered a 1/4 keg of Trumer Pils, listed at $90 at BevMo. The keg is $88 at Total Wine, but I didn't want to make the drive. When I went to BevMo to pick up the keg, they charged me 103 for the keg. They had a new keg list that had just come out in the past couple months increasing the price by $13, even though Total Wine was already cheaper! They are charging $15 more that Total Wine for the exact same keg. They're not even making an attempt to be competitive! If you don't have the time or gas, or only want a bottle or two, stick with BevMo. If you want a far superior selection of beer, alcohol and wine, and cheaper prices, plan ahead and drive to Total Wine and More! read more

I really like this location, the staff here is definitely more approachable and more helpful than the staff at the location in Natomas. I came in on a weekday morning on my day off hoping that it would be nice and empty, but to my surprise it was busy inside! It was 10 am and the lines went almost all the way to the back wall. A wide selection and variety of liquor and nonalcoholic beverages, also a decent (yet pricey) selection of perishable & nonperishable snack foods. Their beverage prices are a tad expensive when compared to other grocery stores. They do, however, have excellent customer service and are very helpful when finding a specific product. This is the only place in Sacramento that carries Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut ($3.99), which we use to make virgin pina coladas! Although I have been in this store many times over the past year or so and found their selection and prices to be excellent and reasonable respectively, this was an Internet order placed to support a party we were having at the house. I looked the information up online, posted it with my credit card info, and it was ready when I rolled in to pick it up later that afternoon. I even got to pick the time frame the order would be waiting for me. the only difficulty was getting my store account linked with my online account, but the cashier arranged the 5% discount anyway. If you're looking for specialty items that are not readily available from other venues give Bevmo a try. Worked very well for me, and those drinking the Seadog Blueberry Wheat Ale from Maine at the party appreciated it even more! read more

I only come to this store because they have the biggest cider selection in my area. However, they claim to price match but insist on their customers providing their own proof of the other seller's price. If you can convince them to look it up for you, the employees have an attitude about it. I recently went in the store and the manager and all 3 of his employees were standing around the register shooting the shit. When i asked for a price match and stated that it's been done for me before, the cashier refused to price match or ask the manager (who was right behind him, chatting with his employees) if this could be done. This store is not worth the time. Shitty service, sub-par selection, and hiked prices. Go to Total Wine & More instead, where their selection is more than twice as big and the prices are reasonable. I had been a customer of this store since 2007 and always bought my kegs there. On Sept 11 2014 I was returning my last keg and picking up a new one in time for my birthday party. At the register when doing the paperwork on my exchange she handed me back my ID because it had expired a day earlier on my birthday and the new one has not been received in the mail yet but should arrive any day. I had my expired ID (1 day expired) my bevmo rewards card and my social security card. I'm 37 years old and the woman at the register refused my business. I asked for a manager and she stated she was the manager and I should take up my complaint with the ABC. There was zero question I was of legal drinking age and she refused me service. I will never spend another cent at this location again. Rude, lacking common sense and not a place Ill support with my business again. read more

I swore I'd never go to a chain to buy my beer, but when my tastes changed over the last 4 years I started finding it really hard to find beers that I enjoyed at your normal liquor stores. The staff at this Bevmo is very knowledgeable about their products. What drove me here was the need for Dogfish Head (my favorite) its about the only place you can get it around here. An alcoholic's dream, but a non-alcoholic's nightmare. I don't drink, but I came here in preparation for the bf's birthday. I came in yesterday for stella and opened up a rewards card for the discount and came in today for a bottle of henny for $26.99, it was regularly $30.99. The dude behind the huge counter near the henny case asked if I needed help. I did, but when I asked when the sale would be over he seemed annoyed and told me Jan. 5th. I wanted to get another bottle, but his unfriendly-ness and snobby attitude did not make me feel warm and fuzzy so I passed up on getting two bottles. I was ready to check out when the lady asked if I was a member, I told her yes. She looked for my number but couldn't find me for some reason, so I told her if I cannot get the discount then I don't want it. She said I can sign up again. I was like nah, I don't need two accounts at bevmo (I don't even drink lol). I told her it was ok and was ready to walk out when she went ahead and gave me the discount. I'm giving them 3 stars because the lady at check-out was cool and gave me the discount when she couldn't find me in their system. One of the guys took me over to the area where they were and gave great details on quality and price. Showed me different options and gave some of his personal favorite. All real helpful.
