I ordered Samuel Adams OCTOBERFEST beer which was listed on their website and was indicated to be on stock to my surprise. Maybe back East it is in stock, but on the West Coast already? I only was given the option to pick it up myself at their Carmel, CA store, the closest local Bevmo store. I drove down there from Pacific Grove, CA and when I entered the store, there were three clerks there, and one of them found it in the pickup location selection, or what I assumed was correct. What they intended to give me instead was Sam Adams SUMMER ALE, and was told they just got that shipment in yesterday. Summer ale, the key word being SUMMER, was only delivered there in the last month of Summer???? Something seems off to me. To avoid this problem from occurring to the reader of this review, I recommend calling the local store on the telephone to determine if indeed the product you are interested in is in stock. Then you can proceed to the store to buy directly through the old-fashioned way, or order online if you choose and then pick up. If you make the same unintentional manner I described, you will waste your time, effort, and wear and tear on your vehicle and the end result to you is nothing in return except getting back online and cancelling your order. Update: I successfully ordered and was delivered Samuel Adams Octoberfest beer at a place in Seaside that I found online called Total Wine and More. You may want to contact this vendor since at least their website is accurate and ordering was easier, and unlike Bevmo, you can have orders delivered if you desire. I don't drink alcohol al that much since I am unfortunately not as young as I once was, but I plan on buying the above next year from Total Wine and More and not have to face the challenging traffic that seems to exist almost round the clock down the hill to Carmel. read more

Booze at a good price. I've found that their 1.75 liter Patron is a lot more expensive than at Costco but everything else is either the same price or cheaper. Definitely a full service store. read more

Recommend not shopping here until your are able do your own shopping. They show no care or attention to detail in their customer service during a time when many business would love the opportunity to be open! Twice now I've driven far out of my way to bring them business, because they were good to us during normal times. Twice now (2/2) they have messed up my order. Subtle errors that are not noticed at first glance, but show a sign of their lack of care and attention to detail in their customers orders - 1st the wrong product because it had a similar color, 2nd time a 12pk when a 24pk was paid for. 40+min have been wasted in second trips now, and there won't be a third. The couple dollars savings, is not worth the inconvenience and Bottles N' Bins is much closer. read more

Well stocked with craft beers. This is a Bevmo 2.0 according to Nick, one of the assistant managers. Other Bevmo stores will soon be stocking their craft beers by category instead of by brewers. If you want an IPA you will go to that section, stout, another. Good idea since the craft beer genre is expanding so quickly. One thing that is consistent about Bevmo, everyone who works there and almost everyone who shops there is happy. For customers it's obvious why, they are going to a happier place later and they are purchasing their vehicle. The workers are always happy to discuss the newer craft beers and nuances between brewers and particular beers. More often than not when a discussion about craft beer begins a crowd starts forming. I have shopped this location at least 10 times in the last 6 months. Today I went in and was going to purchase multiple bottles of liquor. When I went to the register the cashier asked to see my ID. I told him I didn't have it on me. He said I had to have an ID. I have never been carded here....not once. I am in my 40s. I didn't want to argue or make a scene or make is job difficult so I said ok can you please hold my items and I will be back. He did. So I drove all the way back home to PG, grab my license and drive back to Carmel. I go into the store. Now it is a very nice female cashier. I tell her that they are holding my items for me. She gets them, rings them up, and I pay for my items. Not once did she ask me for my ID. I didn't say anything but was seriously annoyed. What a waste of my time and gas! Now I don't think he was " doing his job". I think he was just being a jerk. read more

While I do love to frequent small locally owned businesses, this chain is worth a visit. The store is clean, well organized and staffed with friendly, helpful employees. Selection of wines is great. I love the buy one and get one for $0.05 wine selections too - some are quite good. My opinion, prices are pretty reasonable. Absolutely loved that I found a bottle of Orin Swift Papillon - so delicious and not easy to find. At the end of my visit, I left with way more than I intended. Good selection of craft beers and liquors as well. read more

Ahhhh, yes. Bevmo. The socially acceptable place for adults to become kids again and go completely hog wild spending hundreds of dollars on delicious flavors with no nutritional significance whatsoever. Just yesterday I stopped in to grab a six pack and was almost ran over by an 80 year old woman skipping down the isles with tears of joy running down her cherubic, ruby red checks. I can't pass judgement because I was doing the same thing. As we skipped near each other we exploded into a duet of "Complainte De La Butte" that would have made the cast of Moulin Rouge proud! read more

I've been coming to Carmel for the last 4 years and fortunately there was a Bevmo to get beer or liquor for my vacation. However, my brother and I had horrible customer service today when we went to go pay from a skinny, tall lady with glasses at the register today. Unfortunately, I did not see her name because I was very bothered by her attitude towards my brother and I. We are Latino and we happened to notice that the Caucasian male behind me and in front of my brother got much better customer service than us. I just wanted it to be known that this lady may not be very fond of people of color. There was a male worker there that was very nice to both of us and even found a certain item for my brother. To that lady, I truly hope you change your ways. To the other employee, thank you for being kind. read more

Great customer service (even though their coupon system needs overhauled)! I tried using a $10 off Bevmo coupon that I had just received by email but their system wasn't recognizing it. The asst store manager, Steve, said not to worry and gave me the discount. Perhaps the Bevmo IT people should spend time in a actual store behind the checkout register to experience the hassle customers often have in trying to use their coupons. read more

I didn't want to like this place... well I mean I've been to other BevMos but I want to support local since I'm a lokster here. Everytime I've gone the staff has been helpful - not that I need help around a liquor store - second nature to me. They've offered a few recommendations and are just downright chill and seem to enjoy their job thoroughly which makes me happy. I adore their gluten free aisle... I was totally excited when this place opened. This place is clean, the staff is friendly and the wine selection is decent. I give this place three stars because the prices are Ridiculously high. You can go to Safeway down the street and get the same stuff for 20% or more less. I would imagine most tourists would go here, but locals should be smarter than that read more

Be sure to double check your receipt after purchase. Prices listed on the shelf did not match the checkout price, and in the higher direction. Also double check the prices while at the store. They sell beer in six packs and singles. On several occasions the cost of buying six individual bottles was cheaper than buying the same item as a six pack. Additionally, the manager was hard to deal with his response simply being come back on Thursday when price tags are redone vice correcting the situation on my receipt. Since I had pictures my credit card company was able to resolve the dispute, but it was a hassle when the manger could have done something about it right away. read more

Went in to look around big store so many choices. Like a kid in a candy store. I walk to the section for blue moon and Longboards. They have a great selection on keggers many choices I like that. staff was helpful. The cashier was cute and helpful Teresa gave a great smile, made my day a little better. And a great location to. I decided to take the trip to Carmel to pick up a bottle of Adam Carolla's coveted Mangria. It was my first time at this or any Bevmo, so I didn't really know what to expect. Upon entry I was greeted by a girl (much younger than I) who just wanted to make sure I was old enough to patron...at 35 I was very flattered! I asked directions to the Mangria, was quickly led to the shelf where they used to sit. I was devastated to discover the were all sold out, and didn't know if/when they'd be getting more in. Why the 4 stars then? After I internally threw at temper tantrum, I decided to wander the isles and see what they had to offer. Boy am I glad I did! They have everything under the sun, except Mangria. From local wines to cheese pairings, specialty flavors of vodka to absinthe and all of the mixers and paraphernalia necessary. I felt like a kid in a candy store! I was also really impressed with their customer service, tips, pointers, and knowledge of inventory. I left without what I went for, spent 45 mins perusing and more $ than I'd like to mention, and can't wait to go back. read more

Don't go there!!! After frequenting this BevMo location many times over the past year and spending hundreds of $$$, my wife & I have just had a terrible experience! I purchased a $20 cocktail shaker from them and within a day realized my wife had already purchased another one from a different retailer. So we went in to BevMo to return the unopened box without a receipt knowing we're BevMo members and have a Visa record. The manager very curtly told us that their store policy is to not accept any returns without a receipt regardless of our membership status or other records we may have. His specific words were "these shakers are sold at multiple locations in the area and how are we to know you actually purchased it here?" We told him we had a Visa receipt and suggested the store must have a record of our prior purchase, especially given we're members. We also asked if they could at least offer us a store credit. He said our membership status didn't matter and it's store policy to not accept returns without their specific receipt! We found this to be simply unbelievable given all the electronic records that exist today and how most successful corporations place a high value on their customer's experience. We expressed our total dismay to the manager, promptly returned more than $100 of alcohol we were about to purchase in conjunction with the visit and told him we would never return to the store again. I don't know if this is simply a terribly flawed corporate policy or a local manager showing very poor judgement. I will tell this story to everyone I know in the area, some of which have already related similar experiences at this location. read more
