Just came to this store looking for the cut water and Bourbon. I walked around looking for the "Makers Mark" and didn't see it, so decided to ask if someone can guide in the right direction. There was a gentleman standing near register so I asked, excuse me but, can you tell me where I can find the Makers Mark. He turn around and looked at me asif I had inconvenience him. He turned around and pointed towards the end of the building. Didn't say a word. Just pounted!! I will never understand why companies have people who have no people etiquette in thr front dealing with customers. I sure hope the manager sees this and addresses it, that type of service is just not acceptable. By the way, his name was Nathan, because he had his name tag upside down, maybe so people couldn't read it. Who knows. I got what I needed, thank you. I won't be back to this location. read more

This review is based solely on customer service. This is my second bad experience here, so thought I'd leave a review. I have a certain wine I like & the only place I can find it is at BevMo. I was in the area so thought I'd just go. I walked in today & didn't see it. It's not unusual for it to be out of stock, but thought I'd ask. The two employees were in a corner by the register chatting & I had to say, " excuse me." The guy looked up & asked me if I needed something. I asked him about the wine & that I didn't see it. Was it in stock? He asked me if I looked online to see if it was in stock there. I said no, could he please check. Acting like I was asking for too much, he begrudgingly went to the computer & looked. He told me it wasn't in stock there. I asked him if it showed an estimate on when it'd be back. " I didn't look. You can check online to find out if it's been restocked." At other BevMo's, if it was out of stock, they'd give me an estimated date of restock & then take my info. Would put aside how many bottles I wanted & then call me. So, if you're going to go to this BevMo, my advice is to look online first. Know that what you need is there & just go to pick up & check out. Don't bother with asking for anything. Disappointing. read more

If I could give it a zero out of 5 I would. I had the worst customer service. I bought a keg for my wedding and the tap was broken we had to have a friend to get us a new tap and when we finally got a good one 4 hours into our wedding only foam came out. I returned it with their 7 days policy and the guy name Jesus that works at the store said if the tap of on the keg they can not return it. The store policy says if the beer is spoiled you can return it but how do we know it's spoiled if the tap isn't on it? Other then that they have many options of alcoholic beverages. I got the BevMo card and it helps a tiny bit but better then nothing. CHECK THE CANNED DATES! I picked up a 6 pack and it tastes like shit. I checked the canned date and it was 7 months old! The staff was pretty cool about me exchanging the beer but when I searched through their inventory almost everything I saw was around 6 to 7 months old. Their policy is to rotate the product every 6 months. That's pretty long for hoppy beers. read more

As another reviewer pointed out, they have a lot of old beer on the shelf, some with dust on it, and they even have old beer in the cooler. I went here to load up on beer for Thanksgiving, and I ended up buying one four pack of Modern Times because it was the only hoppy beer I could find that was less than 4 months old. The cashier asked if I wanted to sign up for the BevMo club to get the discounted price on the four pack and I said yes, but when I texted the number requested got an error reply that BevMo was having technical difficulties-error 90000. So the cashier charged me full price of $13.99 for the four pack. That's more than the same beer is at Safeway when it's not on sale. The cashier was a burly guy with beard but the receipt says I was rung up by Dawn. There is no phone number or email address on the receipt for customer feedback and I don't see any contact info on their web site either. So corporate really wants your feedback! I should have just left without buying anything at all. Old beer, non-existent customer service, higher prices than most grocery stores with about the same selection. Just go to Safeway or Nob Hill. read more

Not sure about being prevented from being at Bev Mo if you're not 21... I'm over 21 and have had good experiences. Also, not sure how this franchise is compared to the others as I have not been to them. The store's selection of snacks, drinking supplies, and gadgets is mediocre. The selection of sodas, beers, and wines is awesome. There are so many varieties to try! And the discounts on drinks is also exciting. read more

This Bevmo has the most incompetent staff I have ever encountered. They had some bottles of whiskey labeled at a price that was far below the recommended MSRP and I brought it to the staff's attention. The employee I spoke with said that they would honor the price point for the mislabeled bottles and so I was going to take 2 bottles of the perhaps 20 that were on the shelf. During checkout they decided to no longer honor the price for whatever made up reason and so I decided to just go with it. I still purchased the bottles but was getting bombarded with excuses and attitude from the female employee (possible manager) about the situation. The employees had a terrible attitude and obviously don't like their job. I won't expect much help from them in the future and they could probably benefit from some remedial training in customer service. read more

O...M...G....what a colossal joke of a beverage store. They have shrunk down every main section (beer, wine, liquor) to put in...a grocery store! About the only thing you can't buy in here are bed sheets and books. An emphasis on 'More' and a de-emphasis on 'Beverages', this used to be the great place in Salinas to find different and unique beer but now it's no different than a bigger 7-11 with super high prices. I'm guessing their next addition will be to gut the wine section to put in a dollar store and taqueria...I'm done with this place. For hugely better beer selections go to Total Wine in Seaside, Roger Liquors in Marina, or Star Market and other liquor stores here in town. What a disappointment. read more

I don't drink alcohol but have friends that do ( who doesn't?). So I always need help at BevMo asking for opinions on whatever whiskey, beer or wine I'm buying as a gift. What I do like are the selection of craft sodas in the back and usually put together a six pack for myself. So I walk in with intentions of buying a higher end bottle of tequila, something like a don julio 1942 bottle and need some help with choosing either a wine or champagne. But first... my soda :) So I walk in and there are boxes lined up blocking most of the soda display. Hmm ok I'll just reach over, no problem, but I don't see the six pack holder for the soda. I walk to the front and ask one of three guys who are hanging out talking and they all pretty much say that they don't think they have any. Were they sure? They wouldn't say. Could they have checked? I'm sure they could have. Could they have offered an alternative? Probably. Would they have helped me pick a bottle of champagne? I got the feeling I would have been sent walking in the general direction. What I knew for sure is that I interrupted some pretty good conversation because they left the awkward silence hanging out there for me to take the hint. I did take the hint. My friends will have to settle for Johnny Walker and whatever champagne I buy at Costco instead. I've had good experiences there before which is why I'm keeping 2 stars and not dropping to 1. I'll also update if I go back and have a better experience. But for now their lack of service made me go to Costco instead. I hope my last experience is not a good indicator of the type of workers they are hiring. read more

Stopped in here on a whim last week. I was killing time while my car was in the shop and decided I'd pick up a few bottles of wine. It had been a while since I stepped into a Bevmo, so I figured I'd check it all out. Everything is well organized and so easy to find. All the wines are categorized by varietal and their selection is very impressive. They have great gadgets and drink accessories, wine, sake, chocolates, caviar, games, liqueor sets, cheeses and just about any adult party favor you can think of. They even carry my favorite Kuleto Estate (Napa Valley) wine, which I thought was only sold at their Estate and through membership. All these fabulous wines and gourmet items under one roof!! The manager was very nice and helpful. He apprised me of their wonderful "Buy one bottle of wine, get the second for 5¢" promotion going down the next day. This saved me a nice chunk of money. He also made sure I signed up for a free BevMo saver card to receive email coupons and in-store discounts. Great one-stop shop for all you wine, beer and spirit enthusiats!! read more

BEV MO you have been sent from the GODS. This place has everything from kegs to Don Perignon. I came in looking for some walnut liqueur for a recipe that Martha Stewart had on her show for walnut cookies. Bev Mo did not disapoint they had it. They also carry lots of party snacks like nuts, crackers, cheese, deli meats, spreads, olives, etc. Planning a party there is cups, napkins and little drink umbrellas too. Mediocre! The staff is friendly, kind & knowledgable. But when it comes to craft brew they fall short. With two isles of craft beer I expect to find a bottle I wouldn't find elsewhere. But no... They stay consistant with their selections; sadly. As far as other liquor goes, beyond expensive! Period! Just hit up Coscto for liquor bottles. They have gallon bottles for about the same price as a regular bottles at Bevmo. read more
