Be VERY careful with the prices you see on the labels and what the cashier actually charges you. We bought 7 Hennessy bottles (750mL) and each was priced at $33.99. At the cash register they tried charging us $40.99, and luckily we were able to catch that on the spot. Then we drove to the Bevmo! in Ventura to buy 10 more bottles and the cashier (Joanna) at that particular store was SUPER helpful and even suggested that we download their app to save $10 on purchases of $50 and more. She was very patient with us, very friendly, and we felt very welcoming there. She also didn't try charging us more than the advertised price. After realizing that 17 bottles is going to be a little too much, we decided to return 5 out of 7 bottles that we had bought earlier at Bevmo! in Camarillo. When we arrived, the manager quickly became irritated and angry with the fact that we were returning the items (which we bough less than 2 hours ago.) He quickly got the attitude and said that we couldn't return them (even though the receipt says 7 day return policy.) He tried arguing that it is 7 days IF the items are bad, however, it is clearly stated on the receipt that you can return anything within 7 days if you are DISSATISFIED. For anyone reading this - if they try their tactic on you - don't take their word for it! fight back! Overall: Loved the Bevmo! at Ventura location , was very disappointed with the one in Camarillo. In fact, ill never visit here again ... would only go to Bevmo! and would suggest you do the same ! read more

I had a great experience at BevMo they are the only place where we can get our two favorite reds.... Red Rum and Coronado Brewery's Mermaid Red beer the staff is very knowledgeable about the craft beers and the wine that they have we needed one to go with prime rib they helped us with our selection and it was spot on. they have good prices on chap wine that is not bad for daily drinking also a good selection of drink ware the staff is always very helpful too. read more

During the COVID19 times, BevMo Camarillo did an amazing job. With a simple call they have your order ready really quick.

I have been going to Bevmo ever since they came to Ventura County. Been coming to Camarillo for a while but after this last visit never again. I took part in the mediocre beer and wine tasting which was okay. When I went to purchase my cart of items with my finance and her little brother (18) I was informed that due to the fact he did not have ID and was under age I could not purchase anything eve though I'm 31 with ID. Odd I though as 10 min ago you just served my finance and myself beer and wine, but I understood the have to follow the liquor license laws which is fine I understand policy you need to follow working retail myself. What was unacceptable was how the store manager Heather handled the situation. My 28 year old fiancee was told "You need to LEAVE MY STORE immediately!!" as she pointed to the door..... Not the right way to handle the situation or a long term customer. It felt like we stole something from the store. Again I get policy and don't have a problem with the stores inability to sell me alcohol due to the party I brought in with me. I was simply unaware and will remember next to I go to purchase alcohol. I will never be returning to this store bases solely on the customer experience I received from the person in charge of the store. Heather needs to learn a little about empathy and a lot about customer service. I hear Total Wine and More has good service, I'll find out soon as the wedding alcohol I was going to inquire to purchase will be bought from there. read more

I went to Bev Mo in Camarillo and purchased 6 four packs of my favorite ginger beer. I laid them on their sides in my trunk to keep them from falling over and sliding around. When I got home 18 of the 24 bottles had leaked all over my trunk. It was soaked. None were broken and all still had the caps on. My guess is they were not sealed properly in the bottling facility. When I called BevMo about it they said once it leaves the store it's not our responsibility. The woman I spoke with repeated it after everything I said. So I am out 47 dollars and my car had to be professionally cleaned and Bev Mo could not have cared any less. read more

This store hires people that discriminate against Latinos. I went to the store with my brother both us of being over 21 and the cashier gave us un ugly look. Then we asked for a a bottle of Buchanan's and she said she didn't understand what we said so we asked another employee and she helps us. At the end when we were about to pay she said that since I had touched the alcohol bottles even though I wasn't paying that she needed to see my ID so I didn't carry it so she said that she couldn't sell us the alcohol.. the customer behind us had a girl about 10 yrs old and I said if she was going to ask for the little girls ID because she put alcohol bottles into a cart and the cashier said it was ridiculous and started laughing so I felt that it wasn't right for her to do that .. so please report her if she is rude because people like her doesn't belong in customer service read more

Yeah, it is good to have a BevMo in Camarillo. They have great beers. One's that I've had a hard time finding (i.e. the German ones). I love their 5 cent sales on wines and their promises. Great deals, well sometimes. And sometimes overpriced. So sometimes you aren't really getting a deal. One time this gal, was every helpful and informative on the sales and wines. She taught me something I didn't know and Nick was very helpful as well. About the wine tasting: The guy and gal serving them are kinda creepy. No joke! But hey if you like socially awkward moments, then go to their wine tasting. Of course I haven't been there in a while (about 3 months ago, so maybe they have new people doing it now). I dunno, I am just saying awkward moments when you are trying to learn about different types of wines is not fun! I have not been back since then at that location. read more

I had the worst experience here. The bevmo associate named Elaine was super rude. I called on the phone about a question I had. She was super dismissive and pretentious. When I came into the store she was just as bad as she sounded on the phone. Her tone of voice was very belittling. I went in here yesterday to purchase some wine for a Christmas get together. The clerk asked for my ID. Without warning, the clerk yanked my driver's license out of my hand and attempted to scan it without my permission. I told him no, it was an unnecessary invasion of privacy. He replied, "I have to know it's legit." So in short, the clerk yanked my personal property out of my hand, violated federal law by attempting to scan my ID without permission, and called me a liar all in under 60 seconds. Wish I could give this place no stars. We started off great did the beer and wine tastings no Id check. Got to the register with a full cart trying to buy beer and wine for our rehearsal dinner when this bitch of a person Heather appear to be the manager asked me to leave HER store because I didn't have my id even though I'm 28.Mind you I was not the one buying the liquor. She waved her hand in my face and quickly put all of our purchased behind the counter. I get the policy how ever her tone was so unprofessional. and was rude about the entire thing. She basically caused a scene in front of everyone. I will never ever ever come back and visit heather's store. so sad because another person there was great and we were going to leave them a great review. Sorry heather you have lost business. Please treat your customers with respect you have no people skills and leave your personal drama at home . Great location, staff, and variety of alcoholic beverages. The shelves are always stocked and the staff offer great selections and seem very knowledgeable. They are friendly and greet you with a smile and a welcome everytime. The prices are standard for the liquor, but the wine deals are fantastic. You've got to love the $1 Friday beer tastings and the $2 Saturday wine tastings. Been to the wine tastings often enough that the staff recognizes me and the GF when we walk thru the store. Smaller than the average Bevmo, so the beer selection isn't nearly as wide, but still plenty of wines to try out. And when you can do a tasting with five or six of them first, it takes the guess work out of buying a new wine. They even guarantee wines on the 5-cent sale, so if you don't do the tastings and buy something you don't like, they'll take it back, which is nice. When Bev Mo came to Camarillo we were very excited. No more driving to Ventura to buy kegs. We really tried to give this store the benefit of the doubt. I've made excuses for them "well maybe this or that happened...etc..etc.." We have pre-ordered kegs from them and when the day comes that the keg was supposed to arrive no one calls as promised, we always call to find out the status. It never arrives when promised. Twice we have called only to find out that it didn't arrive because somebody forgot to order it or the distributor was out and someone forgot to tell us. We also have had multiple issues with returning empty kegs to this Bev Mo. The Bev Mo sticker is plainly on the keg, yet we are asked for all the original paperwork and treated like we are trying to rip them off. The manager for this store has no people skills and has absolutely no interest in the customer or listening to any issues. I have actually overheard her talking about me to other employees. Plainly saying that I'm trying to "pull a fast one" while trying to return an empty keg. She is just plain rude. There is one employee "Mike" who is very helpful and pleasant, but unfortunately he is not management ; therefore limited in authority. The store would be much better off with him in charge, he has great people skills. In contrast, the Bev Mo in Westlake/T.O area is very friendly and helpful. Everyone has the attitude of a successful business. We have been able to complete all of our transactions with them without incident. They have said return kegs whenever it is convenient, all they needed was the Bev Mo sticker on it to return for our deposit. From now on we will be driving past the Camarillo Bev Mo and going all the way to Westlake to buy our kegs. read more

The employees here are very helpful. Each time I have asked for suggestions they have been very helpful. The last time I was there it was close to to closing and I was the only one of my friends who could not decide what to get. The guy who was helping me was able to give me good wine suggestions. I did not want to hold them up from closing the store so I chose a couple of his suggestions and me and my friends were on our way out. read more

Im 18, Today I accompanied my sister (28yr) and brother in law (31yr) to Bevmo after going to target because they were buying alcohol for their wedding rehearsal dinner, walk in there with them and spend about a good hour in there while they tasted wine without checking ID I was offered to drink but I said no thank you im only 18. After that we go up to the register and place the items on register, the store manager Heather ask for ID from all 3 of us my sister did not have hers so the manager Heather yells at my sister and points to the door yelling "You need to leave my store!" My sister cooperated and said ok. Then I started walking out and she asked me how old I was and said 18 and she looked at my brother in law and said "You guys need to get out of my store!" We cooperated because we understand their policy but the way Heather handled the situation yelling at us for no reason was unprofessional and I will not be going to BevMo when I turn 21 nor will I ever want to work for a store manager like Heather. read more
