We worked with Elaine at BevMo Camarillo for our 180-person wedding on 5/21/22. From start to finish, Elaine was professional, quick to respond, and easy going. She provided suggestions on quantities based off of our guest count and what we thought the majority of people would drink. The selection of alcohol (beers, wines, and spirits) is plentiful! The day of the wedding they delivered on time and everything worked out wonderfully! read more

Not happy with my last attempted online transaction. I purchased a bottle of Blanton single barrel on their site in the evening hours. The inventory showed that there were 5 bottles in stock at the time I made the purchase. The online site subtracted my bottle from the overall inventory after I made my purchase. I later received a call advising me they had no inventory left for sale and had sold the last bottle at 9am the same day. read more

Pros: Still a better deal than your liquor store down the street. Cons: One of the smaller locations. Manager was supposed to give a call back on a specific bottle shipment and never did. Tip: Best to order online for a pick-up to ensure you don't waste your time and end up buying alcohol you didn't step in the store fore originally. read more

This location is a favorite of mine because they have a great staff. I've always had a great experience during all my visits. The friendly staff (as well as the great deals) is what makes me come back time and time again. Everyone is helpful and very informative whenever I have a question. They definitely all know what they're doing. read more

I was helped by Hanna and she was wonderful. Very helpful and had lot of insight and some fun facts!!

The cashier at the Camarillo location, refused to sell me alcohol, because my wife didn't have her ID with her. I had mine, but she didnt bring her purse. we are both well into our 40s and are quite obviously over 21. several times in the past, she has even purchased alcohol at that location FROM THAT SAME CASHIER!!!! Not sure what his problem was, but we had a full basket and that store lost out on a sale and any of our future business. read more

I have been going to Bevmo for years. Had the worst service to other day. If i could give no stars I would. I will never go to this location again. read more

Helpful, knowledgeable sales guy. Knew the difference between Madeira and Marsala. Another staff member, not so much. No issues with social distancing and masks. Seriously, if you want wine or spirits, this is the place with the incredible selection. read more

Shout out to Elaine @ the Camarillo, CA store. Nice to find someone in retail that still cares about service.

Everyone at the Camarillo store is so nice and helpful! I was looking for Don Julio 1942 which Moises went over the top to look for. As soon as I got to the store I was greeted and everyone that was working was very friendly and helpful. I had originally went to the Ventura store since it is a bit closer but they were so rude and did not want to help me so I went out of my way to go to Camarillo. They are my go to store now!! read more

I have been going to Bevmo ever since they came to Ventura County. Been coming to Camarillo for a while but after this last visit never again. I took part in the mediocre beer and wine tasting which was okay. When I went to purchase my cart of items with my finance and her little brother (18) I was informed that due to the fact he did not have ID and was under age I could not purchase anything eve though I'm 31 with ID. Odd I though as 10 min ago you just served my finance and myself beer and wine, but I understood the have to follow the liquor license laws which is fine I understand policy you need to follow working retail myself. What was unacceptable was how the store manager Heather handled the situation. My 28 year old fiancee was told "You need to LEAVE MY STORE immediately!!" as she pointed to the door..... Not the right way to handle the situation or a long term customer. It felt like we stole something from the store. Again I get policy and don't have a problem with the stores inability to sell me alcohol due to the party I brought in with me. I was simply unaware and will remember next to I go to purchase alcohol. I will never be returning to this store bases solely on the customer experience I received from the person in charge of the store. Heather needs to learn a little about empathy and a lot about customer service. I hear Total Wine and More has good service, I'll find out soon as the wedding alcohol I was going to inquire to purchase will be bought from there. read more

Be VERY careful with the prices you see on the labels and what the cashier actually charges you. We bought 7 Hennessy bottles (750mL) and each was priced at $33.99. At the cash register they tried charging us $40.99, and luckily we were able to catch that on the spot. Then we drove to the Bevmo! in Ventura to buy 10 more bottles and the cashier (Joanna) at that particular store was SUPER helpful and even suggested that we download their app to save $10 on purchases of $50 and more. She was very patient with us, very friendly, and we felt very welcoming there. She also didn't try charging us more than the advertised price. After realizing that 17 bottles is going to be a little too much, we decided to return 5 out of 7 bottles that we had bought earlier at Bevmo! in Camarillo. When we arrived, the manager quickly became irritated and angry with the fact that we were returning the items (which we bough less than 2 hours ago.) He quickly got the attitude and said that we couldn't return them (even though the receipt says 7 day return policy.) He tried arguing that it is 7 days IF the items are bad, however, it is clearly stated on the receipt that you can return anything within 7 days if you are DISSATISFIED. For anyone reading this - if they try their tactic on you - don't take their word for it! fight back! Overall: Loved the Bevmo! at Ventura location , was very disappointed with the one in Camarillo. In fact, ill never visit here again ... would only go to Bevmo! and would suggest you do the same ! read more

During the COVID19 times, BevMo Camarillo did an amazing job. With a simple call they have your order ready really quick.

I love that you can find anything you need at BevMo to make a drink and to go with a drink. However, service to me is the most important thing. Maybe we were older we came from a different era, we like to chat with employees, Make a joke, and be appreciated as a customer. It's a really bad feeling when you try to make a joke with someone and they look at you like you're stupid, and act like they're too busy to talk to you half facing in the other direction, ready to run to get other work done. I worked retail when I was young and we were taught right from the beginning to help the customer and make them feel welcome and it is and like you are there to help them. Kind of like the service you get at Trader Joe's. Really, today makes me not want to come back. Seems like a small thing... It's really not. It's the friendly atmosphere that keeps us coming back. I can get cheaper ingredients at Walmart.... And I will. read more

BevMo! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Camarillo, California

Yeah, it is good to have a BevMo in Camarillo. They have great beers. One's that I've had a hard time finding (i.e. the German ones). I love their 5 cent sales on wines and their promises. Great deals, well sometimes. And sometimes overpriced. So sometimes you aren't really getting a deal. One time this gal, was every helpful and informative on the sales and wines. She taught me something I didn't know and Nick was very helpful as well. About the wine tasting: The guy and gal serving them are kinda creepy. No joke! But hey if you like socially awkward moments, then go to their wine tasting. Of course I haven't been there in a while (about 3 months ago, so maybe they have new people doing it now). I dunno, I am just saying awkward moments when you are trying to learn about different types of wines is not fun! I have not been back since then at that location. read more

I went to Bev Mo in Camarillo and purchased 6 four packs of my favorite ginger beer. I laid them on their sides in my trunk to keep them from falling over and sliding around. When I got home 18 of the 24 bottles had leaked all over my trunk. It was soaked. None were broken and all still had the caps on. My guess is they were not sealed properly in the bottling facility. When I called BevMo about it they said once it leaves the store it's not our responsibility. The woman I spoke with repeated it after everything I said. So I am out 47 dollars and my car had to be professionally cleaned and Bev Mo could not have cared any less. read more

This store hires people that discriminate against Latinos. I went to the store with my brother both us of being over 21 and the cashier gave us un ugly look. Then we asked for a a bottle of Buchanan's and she said she didn't understand what we said so we asked another employee and she helps us. At the end when we were about to pay she said that since I had touched the alcohol bottles even though I wasn't paying that she needed to see my ID so I didn't carry it so she said that she couldn't sell us the alcohol.. the customer behind us had a girl about 10 yrs old and I said if she was going to ask for the little girls ID because she put alcohol bottles into a cart and the cashier said it was ridiculous and started laughing so I felt that it wasn't right for her to do that .. so please report her if she is rude because people like her doesn't belong in customer service read more

I had the worst experience here. The bevmo associate named Elaine was super rude. I called on the phone about a question I had. She was super dismissive and pretentious. When I came into the store she was just as bad as she sounded on the phone. Her tone of voice was very belittling. I will be taking my business else where, where the employees aren't so hostile and unwelcoming. read more

Pretty standard Bevmo location, not many staff around but checkout at the counter is always fast. Several of the folks behind the counter have been friendly, talkative, and provide feedback on beer purchases offering suggestions too! read more

Our order was ready fast after ordering online, which was great, but when we went to pick it up the staff member was not wearing a mask or gloves and it looked like they were using the same shopping cart for all patrons without disinfecting it between uses. They are closed for in-person browsing but you can call ahead, order online, or just show up and ask them to pull what you're looking for. read more

Bevmo has pretty much every type of alcohol you've heard of. They're a little on the expensive side but their variety makes up for it. Their customer service is great. read more

I went in here yesterday to purchase some wine for a Christmas get together. The clerk asked for my ID. Without warning, the clerk yanked my driver's license out of my hand and attempted to scan it without my permission. I told him no, it was an unnecessary invasion of privacy. He replied, "I have to know it's legit." So in short, the clerk yanked my personal property out of my hand, violated federal law by attempting to scan my ID without permission, and called me a liar all in under 60 seconds. I will never shop here again. read more

What's not to like! They have a very large selection of alcohol and awesome deals. To celebrate my friends bday we got 4 bottles for $36 of good quality wine. The sale they have is buy 1 get the other for 5cents (essentially free) of the same bottle, for select wines. I noticed they also have a cigar section & a section for mixed drinks. Make sure to carry id. read more

Yes!!! My home away from home has finally come to Camarillo! I love buying wine and Christmas gifts for my bosses at BevMo. The Camarillo location just opened up on Las Posas next to Pier 1 and it's a great store. Cheers! read more

Wish I could give this place no stars. We started off great did the beer and wine tastings no Id check. Got to the register with a full cart trying to buy beer and wine for our rehearsal dinner when this bitch of a person Heather appear to be the manager asked me to leave HER store because I didn't have my id even though I'm 28.Mind you I was not the one buying the liquor. She waved her hand in my face and quickly put all of our purchased behind the counter. I get the policy how ever her tone was so unprofessional. and was rude about the entire thing. She basically caused a scene in front of everyone. I will never ever ever come back and visit heather's store. so sad because another person there was great and we were going to leave them a great review. Sorry heather you have lost business. Please treat your customers with respect you have no people skills and leave your personal drama at home . Again I get the policy but your associate gave Us beer and wine with out checking our Id. but you refuse to sell my fiance any of my purchase and rudely asked me to leave the store. I felt like I had stolen something from you and truly i was trying to place a giant order for our wedding. I really hope upper management looks into her behavior and her people skills. I will never ever go into the camarillo store. read more

My experience is that service here is lackluster or rude with know it alls who clearly don't know it all. Selection is ok on liquor, terrible on European wine. Good selection of small bottles for stocking stuffers. Won't return. read more

Great location, staff, and variety of alcoholic beverages. The shelves are always stocked and the staff offer great selections and seem very knowledgeable. They are friendly and greet you with a smile and a welcome everytime. The prices are standard for the liquor, but the wine deals are fantastic. You've got to love the $1 Friday beer tastings and the $2 Saturday wine tastings. Been to the wine tastings often enough that the staff recognizes me and the GF when we walk thru the store. Smaller than the average Bevmo, so the beer selection isn't nearly as wide, but still plenty of wines to try out. And when you can do a tasting with five or six of them first, it takes the guess work out of buying a new wine. They even guarantee wines on the 5-cent sale, so if you don't do the tastings and buy something you don't like, they'll take it back, which is nice. Very friendly staff, especially Jake the Wine Tasting Guy. A great store in a great location. read more

Rudy the sales associate is always so nice. Selection of drinks is crazy. And they separate the sales so its clear what's on sale. From beer to wine to vodka to whisky. Its all here. Love this place. and each time you get points on your card and can help you save! read more

When I walked in I was looking for a gift but not sure where to go. Chris B. Instantly asked me if I needed help. Great place to browse and check out local and Jon local beer products. Pretty good prices on single and packs of beers.
