I see why people are raving about Makino-san. It's a pleasure to have met him, and while I hope to never see him again (because it would mean something goes wrong with my car, haha), I'm glad that I know where to find him if I need. I had a short list of repairs needed after someone had grazed past the driver's side of my car, leaving behind a paint skid, a shattered side mirror, and a little gap in the front wheel fender liner. I wasn't looking to spend too much money on the repairs because it was a hit-and-run, and I wasn't sure I'd be getting paid back. Makino-san was quick to give me an estimate. His rate was affordable and zero-BS. The repair was done in less than two hours. Got exactly what I paid for. I don't know much about cars or the details of body shop work to speak on much else. But I do know that when a man can tough it out 40 years in the same spot doing the same work, it absolutely means something. read more

I highly recommend and can't praise Beverly Auto Body shop enough! The owner Makino-San and staff are truly a gem and are the "Takumi" (Having great skill or expertise in a particular activity or field) in the auto body repair business. I took in my 2017 Toyota Sienna Limited for body work, after a careless neighbor decided to kick open a heavy iron-rod gate. And sure enough, it landed on the rear-side of my big girl... an expensive mistake that they will reimburse me for. I expressed my concerns with Makino-san that I need an entirely new liftgate. And I do not want it fixed with Bondo (body filler and resin) and painted over. Makino-san (being a car guy himself) knew what to do and he said with a calm reassuring tone "I will order a new door for you and take care of it. I will call you with any updates and when its ready to pick up." Pick-up day finally arrived! and I was very impressed with the work his crew did! I honestly can't tell from the new paint on the liftgate to the rest of the existing body panels. My color is called "Predawn Grey Mica" and has metallic flakes in the paint. The craftsmanship is seamless, and I award bonus points for detailing the interior and exterior of my Sienna! My Yota literally looks brand new again from the dealership! Top-notch, Top-shelf type of work! And they are honest with fair prices! I now know where to confidently recommend friends and family to when they are looking to hire a shop for their auto body needs. I try to support local businesses that are close to home, and I hope this review helps prospects hire this shop for ANY body work! I wish them continued success. I took my BMW here and I'm honestly so impressed! The team was super nice, helpful and made everything really easy from start to finish. They got my car done so quickly and it looks amazing like you'd never even know it needed work. It's rare to find a place that's this efficient and still treats you with such kindness (especially if you're a female!!) I'll definitely be coming back if I ever need body work again and highly recommend them to anyone! read more

Absolutely flawless results. Can't tell it was hit. I spazzed on taking before and after pics. I was quoted by 2 bodywork shops $3500 to change the door. For $900 got the most amazing job done. read more

Had a small repair. Owner Mike(Makino-san) was empathetic and gave me most efficient and easy option for my budget.

I scratched my car pretty bad and he gave me a fair estimate, and fixed my car at a very reasonable time. I couldn't be happier. I paid out of pocket and even though it wasn't cheap, it was at a fair price compared to what other body shops would've charged. Mr. Makino and his team are honest, very nice and respectable people. I highly recommend them. read more

I love this auto body shop because the staff are very nice and quick service with reasonable price.

Got a hit and run that knocked off my side mirror and had to get it completely replaced. Beverly Auto Body was supremely easy to work with - they got the part needed for my car a few hours after I asked, and replaced it within 20 minutes. Very fast work. They also didn't try to upsell me - I told them I didn't need it painted and there was no pushback, they were happy to accommodate exactly what I wanted. I appreciate their straightforwardness and professionalism. Thank you! read more

After I hit the traffic cone on freeway, I took my car to Beverly Auto body after Montri Auto recommended. They are very honest and reliable people and they went above and beyond. I took my car to mercury authorized mechanic shop for first time to get an estimate, they didn't even take a look inside and gave me whatever estimate. Makino san looked carefully and he did great job. My car was done within a week. Thank you so much and I will recommend this place to all of my family and friends read more

I was recommended by the folks at N T Auto in Little Tokyo (also great for run-of-the mill auto stuff). I had some severe East Coast Rust in both of my rear wheel wells and, after a botched attempt at a home fix, decided to bring it to a professional. AWESOME work. This was fabrication--they had to weld in plates and grind them to match the body curves of the original car, and then repaint and blend. And it looks.... like new! And it only took 4 days. For an extraordinarily reasonable price. No pushiness on other work, a frank and straightforward estimate (which they upheld), and easy communication. I will definitely be back if/when I need it. Can be easy to miss when you drive past... a garage door across from the green gas station. read more

I took my car for estimates at three autobody shops. Beverly Auto Body quoted me the cheapest and with the shortest turn around time offering to do a repair on my bumper rather than a replacement of the part. At first I was hesitant, as another shop had told me that a repair wasn't possible. Beverly did the repair very well. Perhaps they have more skilled people? Very satisfied. read more

Mr. Makino and his team are very professional and so kind. Super humble price and they do a great job. My car looks like it nothing happened. I love how much he was concerned for me like a best friend. I hope I don't have to come back again but if I have to repair my car again, I will come to Mr. Makino for sure. I appreciate you guys very much for taking caring of everything as smooth as possible. read more

-Update, Nov 2017- I got into another accident, and came back here to get my front bumper replaced. Mr. Makino and his staff were super helpful yet again and did all the work in a timely manner. Mr. Makino is a truly honest business man and I can't recommend him enough. As far as pricing, I have never been disappointed by cost. Based on the past experiences of my friends, I was expecting something double what I ended up paying. Furthermore, this is definitely a case of getting more than what you paid for. The quality of work is excellent and my car left the shop looking better than it did even before the accident. Can't recommend Beverly Auto Body enough. read more

I was rear-ended, & got an estimate from a body shop recommended by the other party's insurance. I have an old truck (1998), and the preliminary estimate for the damage they could see from outside was 80% of the value of my vehicle. They didn't bother opening my truck up & looking inside because the total repairs would be more than my vehicle was worth - it was considered a total loss. My truck still ran so I kept it, & was paid the value of my truck less the salvage value. I decided to take my truck to Beverly Auto Body for a second opinion, & they matched the other shop's preliminary estimate. I was afraid the cost would go up a lot after they looked inside, but it didn't change. They were able to fix the damage & more. They also fixed pre-accident blemishes & painted areas that needed painting. My front bumper was faded, but now it's shiny & nice. My vehicle looks better than before the accident. The owner, Mr. Makino, is honest & runs a quality shop. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs body work done. Thank you, Mr. Makino! read more

Did a beautiful job of making my old Corvette look like new. Makino is the man!

This body shop is the first place you should go to get a quote on your car repair. You might run around to some other ones but don't bother. Montri recommended me to this shop and I can't say nicer things about them! I had an issue with my hood not latching properly and they fixed it in no time at all for an extremely modest fee. The man (owner?) who helped me couldn't have been nicer and the same goes for the young woman working in the office. read more

This shop was recommended to me by my doctor who had work done there and was very pleased with the service and workmanship. We were pleased as well. The turn around time was as they said. It was a pleasure doing business with them. The shops appearance may be plain but they do very good work. With them it's substance and not style. read more
