Great versatile place for catch ups with friends. Be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or a night out, this is a perfect location. Breakfast is really good here...Lounge eggs are so yummy. This is quite a striking large space with very high ceilings and one wall covered with rows and rows of paintings and groups of big colourful light shades. I like that you can order food at the bar so you don't have to wait around for your bill. Although it was busy our food came pretty quickly. The menu is quite eclectic - there are burgers, paninis and salads but some more random stuff like a Mexican bowl my friend said she liked. She advised me to avoid the tapas, apparently they are not that great. I had the smoked salmon fish cake which surprisingly didn't taste of much. I liked the textural combo of the poached egg on top but the whole dish could have done with something to give it a bit more bite. I was looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch with a friend in Urmston, and saw a great offer of 3 tapas and a glass of house wine for £9.95 on Tuesdays. We popped in, but this offer doesn't start until 5pm. I don't understand the logic, but we stayed anyway because there is an offer of 3 tapas for £9.95. We chose a table with a comfy sofa downstairs, but moved upstairs because the table was in need of a wipe. I had a glass of Borsao Macabeo, which I thought was off, but realised it was the first thing I had had since brushing my teeth. It was actually fine after a spot of tapas. read more

Thought we'd get a decent pornstar martini at Bevano Urmston on asking for two we received an answer of ... "we put the prosecco inside in the drink ok" (well that's not a pornstar but ok... couldn't taste it and it didn't have that distinct slight fiz either) I'd also like to know why exactly? Why everywhere you order a Pornstar Martini do you get prosecco on the side, it's signature detail... Except Bevano? No passion fruit topping either? And on enquiry got a scarcasic glance and "Do you know how much they cost? So NO we haven't got any" BTW it's around 30p each probably cheaper from a wholesaler. £7.50 half hearted not quite pornstar martini cocktail plonked down. Seriously you're charging city prices for bargain basement your twist drinks. With attitude from staff, when you query it! Place wasn't busy but not surprised with the unwelcome attitude of the staff. Went outside to drink our drinks and smoke, almost immediately a staff member came over and said 'my manager' (I presume too tight for passion fruit) "you have to move onto the pavement, you can't smoke there" not very politely and more of a thrown comment from the open doors. Your seating area 'IS' in the street there's nothing special about it! It's a roped off area on a high street next to a bus stop! Every other bar in the same high street have smoking ouside. But more than that it was the overall attitude, it's not customer friendly. So I'm onto the pavement outside of the tabled area another customer actual commented they'd been sat outside smoking previously. The same staff member then immediately returned as if an afterthought added "you've got 15 minutes and you can't drink them outside!" It wasn't a request it was a demand. Several other customers sat outside, can't see why we were targeted as two women business owners in our late 40s? Unless of course it was because we'd only just been served. It wasn't even late! We informed the barman "don't worry we're leaving" downed our drinks and left! Perfectly understandable if they're closing the outside seating area, but you don't shout it across as an afterthought. It's basic customer service, if you can't provide a quality product, tell the customer and offer an alternative. Be polite. The lack of customer service skills, corner cutting and over pricing isn't winning you any custom. Probably why you were half empty and everywhere else was busy! I really don't feel we received a warm welcome, quality drinks or a good service. We certainly didn't feel like the atmosphere was great or that we'd like to book in for food.
