No problems getting in and out - easy to navigate. All utilities good. Site fairly level with ground asphalt surface (not our favorite). No host on site, but the hut at entrance had everything we needed. The issue here are the buddy sites, which are VERY close together. With both occupied and slides out, it was VERY hard to walk between rigs. Not a big deal if you have quite neighbors. I'd rate this place 3 1/2 stars but they get the benefit of the doubt since we can no longer give half stars.

There's a pet relief area, with dog waste bags available. The hotel is right next to a gas station/liquor. There are several restaurants & a Starbucks within walking distance. Upon first arrival, the parking lot might seem rather small. However, there is also parking available on the S/SW part of the hotel. The hotel staff was plating breakfast meals due to COVID. Two complaints: The pillows are mediocre. Also, I've stayed at this La Quinta several times. During one stay, the heat & A/C unit worked great. The other stay, it didn't work properly.

The room smelled absolutely toxic. We went down to the front desk and told them about the problem and asked for a different room. The had no open rooms. They said that sometimes the maids spray a little too much when cleaning. We asked for a fan, they said they didn't have one. 20 minutes later, they showed up with one. Told us to keep the door open to air it out. (like we want to leave our door open, we were right next to the elevator). The window was stationary, so we couldn't get any fresh air. The exhaust fan in the room barely worked. My wife was getting sick from the fumes. We decided to cancel both nights, figuring it would be better to sleep in the car. And the people behind the desk, who could both speak English, started speaking in another language. What were they saying? Didn't make us feel very welcome. Will never stay there again.

Then before that, people are up all night long driving and walking like theyre scoping out the place, i felt nervous because it sounded like they were going through things outside, just really made me feel uneasy, for 60. A night i should feel more safe and not on edge, and the music starts up again at 9:30 am on the weekend. Cant relax on the weekend here, if you want to party thats the place to be. I thought it was going to be a quiet little campground, but by 3am its noisier than heck and it doesnt settle down, on a sunday! I don't reccomend if you want some relaxation on a weekend. Oh yeah when i first arrived i thought i was in mexico, spanish music blaring, this is no place to be if you want to relax or have respect for others, i dont see much of that there. Way too pricey for that atmosphere; sorry hillcrest but my first impression sadly wasnt a good one. BUT on the positive side, i do have to say that it is a pretty area and the staff was accomodating.

I had to sit and wait for a part for my RV for nearly a week, and they were very nice and accommodating, even lending an extra hand when I needed a little help fixing something. Hillcrest sits up on a hill just a few miles out of town, and the property typically gets a nice breeze in the hottest part of the day, which really helps on sunny days. There are trees that provide shade too, so overall it's a very comfortable place even when the temps rise into the high 80's. It always seems to cool down into the 60's at night too, which is a real blessing in the dog days of summer. My only complaint with Hillcrest is their bathrooms, which are pretty much the original structures from decades ago. Frankly, they should have been completely demolished and rebuilt when the current family of owners bought the property from the original developers who built it decades ago. I'm not sure what the plans are, but I'd imagine they understand the situation and will get around to making improvements soon.

Folks frequently comment about noise in hotels - and that's due to jerks staying in a hotel more than anything. Hotels can only be so sound proof. A nice touch is a room in which you can set the AC to where the room is cool (ours was perfect) but the best part is being able to force the fan to continue running when the room gets to temp. That's the way it was here and we heard nothing at all during our entire stay due to our choice for the background noise! We don't know when we will be in Bismarck again, but if we are, I can guarantee we will stay HERE! Thanks again to the staff, management and owners. :-)

1 Star -- Completely unacceptable experience…read more We stayed at the Everspring Inn & Suites in Bismarck, ND with our 5-month-old baby and discovered what appeared to be bed bugs in our room. Both my wife and I were bitten, and I have photographs documenting the bites. When we reported the issue to management, the manager argued that they were not bed bugs rather than taking the situation seriously or adequately addressing our concerns. The situation became so unacceptable that my wife and our 5-month-old baby ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor. We were ultimately given a refund, but given the circumstances--possible bed bugs, bites affecting both adults, and a 5-month-old infant being exposed--the response was completely inadequate. A refund alone does not address the seriousness of what happened or the way the situation was handled. I strongly recommend that management take reports like this seriously and thoroughly inspect and address the room before putting another family in it.
