*review for track and cemetery*…read more So...my fatass recently began a "running" (read, "walking/jogging") program. Long story short, I needed a nearby track with lighting to run on at night. After calling all the local high/middle schools and hearing a whole bunch of "no's", one finally suggested Eastfield. Awesome! Their track is essentially a really long (one mile, I believe) sidewalk with squishy rubber track stuff on it. Its not your typical oval- its long and squiggly, and wraps around two "lakes", some trees, and some sporting courts. There are nice quarter mile markers to help you judge your workout, too. Everyone is super considerate and will move when they see you coming past them (the track is about two people wide). Its mostly lighted, but some lights are out and this is not the *best* area, so be mindful-however, there is an emergency pager located about 3/8ths into the track, and I have seen a cop sitting in his car the whole time I'm out there before, so I haven't felt unsafe. Around the track there are tennis courts which are open to use by anyone, a water fountain, and what I found to be a workout/stretch park? I don't know what to call it....it looks like an outdoor gym thats missing weights. I use it to stretch out before and after jog/walks. Closer to the road you'll find the Motley family cemetery. This is a neat little spot inside a wrought-iron fence. The sign has a nice bit of history- 25 plots in the cemetery now, for the Motley family (the roads namesake) and their slaves. It is still used, as well. All in all a great place to relax and have a nice mile (or two or three) long run/walk/jog :)

I'm wondering about the motivations of the people criticizing her in negative reviews. She clearly has a strong attention to detail and tries very hard to be helpful. The gentleman who works there did my student's road test and was also very helpful and kind. My teenager was so nervous that she was feeling unwell, but both of them were beyond kind and patient. (He made her laugh, which helped her relax.) I was beyond pleasantly surprised. My teen passed, and he gave some kind advice on things we can continue working on. I highly recommend Ideal.

I needed a local business that was open on Sunday's, and preferably one with competitive pricing ~ or better than! I found Ideal Driving School's parent and student reviews to be very positive and comforting. I gave them and call about 4 o'clock one day, they answered unlike another local school I called where I had to leave a message and then a call center contacted me back, and I had my son signed up for his road test on the date and time I needed) in less than 10 minutes! This was approx. one month before his sixteenth birthday. We were able to stop by the driving school the same day I booked the test to take a photo of the actual mapped out road test he would be taking ~ no problem! Very handy for driving practice. Today he took his road test! We arrived 10 minutes early and checked in with the friendly staff. We were able to pay using Zelle so that we didn't have to pay for additional fees for using a credit card. Next we met with the driving instructor before the road test, and were given an easy to read document to review that advised of exactly what would cause someone to lose points on the test or cause an immediate fail. Love the transparency! Practice makes perfect! The instructor was very friendly and my son shared that the road test experience was painless! Thank you Ideal Driving School! I recommend this school for anyone needing the Texas road test!

Unless your family has the resources to donate large sums of money, the "right" race, or gain favor through employment at the school, you are just a number--tolerated, but never truly included. The school's values are less about Christ and more about class and elitism. A tight-knit inner circle of donors, board members, and influential families call the shots. Everyone else is kept in their place. Diversity at Dallas Christian is performative at best. Minority students are rarely visible outside of athletic teams, and there is a pattern of recruitment that raises serious ethical questions. These students are valued for what they can do on the field or court--not who they are. And yes, there have been documented and disturbing instances where students of color have been called racial slurs, including the N-word, by both peers and staff. Consequences for these actions have been minimal, and accountability is nonexistent. The emotional toll is real. Kids who start off confident and engaged quickly become withdrawn, questioning their worth in an environment that measures value by status. The self-esteem damage lingers long after. Many of the glowing reviews online are not from impartial voices--they are parents on the board, major donors, or paid reviewers. Don't be misled by the marketing or manufactured praise. The reality inside is far different. Meanwhile, families who experience harm are pushed out quietly, without support, and without acknowledgment. Even staff members who happen to be minorities are part of the same exclusionary system--and they know it. There is no safe space here, only a well-oiled machine that rewards compliance and marginalizes difference. If your family doesn't "fit" their mold--racially, politically, or socially--you will be pushed out, one way or another. The environment is not just biased, it is hostile. And they'll use your tuition to do it. With the rise of school vouchers, this kind of systemic discrimination is only going to get easier to hide. If you are a minority family, a values-driven family, or seeking real faith-based education--run. Don't be fooled by the brochures. The truth is much uglier.
