At face value you walk in and the school is full of character. No boring white walls. I mean there's a model train going around the ceiling by. Play grounds are well kept and there's even a splash pad. While this is not a Montessori school our girls have not only received a great education, the arts and craft creativity projects are endless. I will say this school is based in core Christianity beliefs so if that if that is an issue for you, this may not be your place. I can say nothing our girls have learned or repeated is offensive in anyway. Admin and staff- we have seen some turn over but have never had an issue with new teachers. Health and safety- the school is very good at communicating Health/ safety issues ( black outs, weather impacts , etc). They also routinely perform monthly evacuation and situational awareness. So bottom line no school or daycare will ever measure up to a parents expectations of care for their kids... but while there maybe some bumps here and there I still believe the staff at this school deserve endless margaritas and metals everyday of the week!

Because of "behavioral issues" our son was told that "he is missing part of his brain" and referred to a quack pseudoscience professional in Addison, TX with the promise that said "doctor" would be able to help. Instead, we spent thousands of dollars on a scam -- at the recommendation of Gabimarie at Breckinridge. Ultimately, we were given a "trial period" of 3 weeks where out son was (finally!) removed from the care of his teacher and placed in another class. During his time in that class, we received no communication that he was acting out, and during every single observational attempt, I could see him focused on his work. At the end of the trial period, we were brought into the office and the owner, Gabimarie, and his new teachers tried to tell us that he was just too disruptive to the class to be kept at their school. We have decided it is best to not fight it and withdraw both children from their care and move onto a better school option. In the end, we loved the kids and parents at this school, but some of the staff and teachers are far more interested in enforcing petty dress code violations than they are attending to the kids needs. Other reviews on here have touched on things we also witnessed. While there are good things about the school that we really liked, the overall experience was so poor that I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone. Your children's mental well-being is far too important than to roll the dice with certain staff. Go elsewhere -- the cheap price tag of this place is less indicative of value than it is "you get what you pay for."

We have found that at Breckenridge Montessori. When trying to determine where to leave your child for several hours a day, it is important to find out if those that will be with your son or daughter from 8 - 4 (or longer) not only enjoy their profession but enjoy where they are working. The staff at Breckenridge Montessori has been there for years - YEARS - with some being there well over a decade. The love they have not only for where they work but for the children shows each day. I have found the staff very willing to listen to our needs, our questions and our concerns for our child, which is important because we had some unfortunate issues at other schools that did not have the professionalism and level of attention that Breckenridge Montessori has shown us. Our son has flourished - he is learning and advancing in his education exceptionally. As a kindergartener he is doing math and reading well beyond his years and has, most importantly, shown an insatiable appetite to learn - he asks questions and seeks answers, which I attribute to the school fostering in him the desire to learn not just as a ritualistic academic endeavor but as a curiosity about life around him. I do not make recommendations lightly because I think people read these and take them seriously. I will tell you I recommend Breckenridge Montessori without hesitation. Do your child a favor and consider this school for his or her education - in life and ABCs.

I was so anxious about putting my child in a daycare/school. The management is superb! The teachers are absolutely incredible! (Ms. Emily and Ms. Kelsey) Even though, there was some transition with teachers throughout the year, they handled it gracefully and let us know every step of the way. And, every time I go in they are welcoming and everyone says hi to my son and knows him by name. It's like a family! All holidays and events they make extra special for the kiddos from their Halloween carnival, week long Christmas activities, Easter and Graduation party.

The change really helped with communication to parents especially for my 3 year old. Through the app his teachers document his activity through the day. The entire staff knows the parents and children by name and that makes me feel very secure. I'm thankful my boys get to learn about Jesus too.

This school has been such an important part of our family's life, and we could not have asked for a better place for our children to learn, grow, and be cared for. What makes Primrose of West Allen truly special is its people and its culture. Shannan and Andrew lead from the top down, and their commitment to the children, families, and staff is reflected throughout the entire school. They have created something that feels much more like a family and community than simply a preschool. Perhaps the best reflection of that culture is that their staff includes three generations of teachers from the same family -- a mother, daughter, and granddaughter. That says so much about the kind of environment they have built. The leadership team -- Ms. Vidisha, Ms. Eylin, Ms. Jessica, and Ms. Leslie -- is exceptional. They know the children and families personally, are always approachable, and genuinely care. Most importantly, we want to thank all the wonderful teachers who have taught, cared for, and loved both of our kids over these five years. So my daughter started at Pillars this Monday June 1st. Her 2nd day there which was Tuesday June…read more2nd, I sent my father up there to check on her around lunch time because she had listed off a few reasons for why she didn't have a good first day there. After my father got there and spoke to my daughter, he called me and told me that a little boy had punched my daughter before they went outside to play, and then while they were outside playing the same little boy kept teasing her and chasing her and also kicked her water bottle across the playground. I was surprised to hear this because I hadn't recieved a single call from anyone at Pillars about any of this happening. So I called up there and asked to speak to someone that was aware of what had happened, and after being on hold for 5 mins a lady got on the phone and told me she qould have to call me back and before I could say anything she hung up. About 5 mins later they called back, so again I asked to soeak to someone that was dealing with my daughter being punched, teased, and her water bottle being kicked around the playground and the lady said that she had talked to my daughter's teacher and they all were aware of what took place. So I asked her why I wasn't notified about any of this happening, and her response was " we normally only notify parents of a situation if the child gets hurt"... So I asked her how would she know how bad it hurt my daughter when the little boy punched her. After she realized how stupid she sounded, she then said "oh I misspoke, I meant to say that we normally only notify parents about a situation if the child is bleeding or gets bruised"... I dont know which statement was worse, but they are both bad, and most importantly wrong. I told her that just because my daughter was not bleeding, or whether she had a bruise or not, that none of that matters and they should have called me to inform me in at least a reasonable amount of time. But according to both of her answers, I highly doubt I would've ever gotten a call from them to notify me that a boy had punched my daughter, teased her, chased her, and kicked her water bottle across the playground. At this point I was frustrated, and honestly wasn't going to keep my daughter around "adults" that were this out of touch with reality, and around people that clearly didn't really seem to care. So I told her that my daughter would not be returning ever, and then she started to get an attitude with me and then she hung up on me. So to all of the parents out there considering leaving their child under the care and supervision of The Pillars Christian Learning Center, I would advise you to seek care elsewhere if your child's safety is important to you. This all happened within 2 days of being enrolled there, I can only imagine all of the negative things that would've continued to happen if I left my daughter at that poor excuse of a Christian daycare. I would trust my dog to look after my child before I would ever trust anyone at The Pillars Christian Learning Center.
