We have sent both of our kids to DMA for going on 18 months, current ages of 6 & 3, and this school has been excellent for us and our kids. DMA staff regularly communicate using the ChildPilot app, at pickup/drop-off, and regular conferences. My children attended DMA for over a year, and we were delighted with their progress, both in terms of academics and socialization. The individual instruction they receive in classes is plentiful, and the variety and quality of enhancement activities are outstanding. I read through the handful of negative reviews and find them puzzling. I have no affiliation with the school other than as a customer, and I was quite pleased with DMA overall. My kids made significant progress in reading, math, and multiple languages. Thanks to the extra-curricular classes, my kids both learned how to play chess and play the piano. My 3-years-old son went there for about 6 months, in the summer he would come home with mosquitos bites all over his legs, we bought a mosquitos repellent and asked DMA teachers to put it on before let him play outside and they never did. I highly question the sanitation of this place, if you visit the place you will know why. There are also numerous times that he came home and water bottle was untouched and we have talked with the staffs about this problem, BUT again nothing has changed. We finally decided to take my son out of this place because we found out he have been mistreated and the management have no explaination of why!! I would personally ignore all the five stars reviews here because they can easily manipulate friends and staffs to leave untruthful reviews. Only the 1 star or low reviews here are really trustworthy. I would recommend people to look else where. read more

We are so happy with this school. Our son started attending when he was 15 months old and we have been very happy with the care, starting in the infant class and now in the toddler class. Our son comes home happy and talks about his teachers and classmates. We know he is well cared for and loved. They provide pictures daily to share their activities and send messages as necessary. We appreciate the communication and know our son is learning because he comes home singing songs. We are so thankful to his infant and toddler teachers; they make his experience and care so great! read more

We love this school! We switched our son from another school when he was 10 months old and had no concerns that they would take good care of him. They are organized, great at communicating and very responsive (way better than the other school he went to previously) and send multiple updates and pictures throughout the day. To make this short and sweet, A) Full disclosure, my kid loved this place BUT B) it is very unorganized, C) there is NO communication from teachers to parents, D) it's kind of dirty, E) what they do all day is kind of a mystery aside from the few pics posted on the app, F) my kid did not learn one thing the 7 months he attended. G) So basically it is a not so nice daycare at a really nice private school price. H) I don't believe the 5 star "omg this place is so awesome" posts, I just don't - No one can love this place that much, and most of the praise from those posts is just straight up actively not true. read more

Both of my sons are enrolled in the after-school program, and it is fantastic. Chinese language lessons are included, as is school pick-up from Plano ISD schools. They also offer extra-curricular programs such as chess, dance, drawing, and sports. The student body is very diverse, and the children tend to be well behaved. The other parents are also very friendly. The staff is very professional, and I get the feeling that they enjoy working with and teaching children. My sons' reading and writing skills are advanced for their age, and I attribute much of that to this school - they assign extra homework packets to the students, but not so much that the kids don't enjoy it. The best part is that my sons enjoy the program. Their lives have been truly enriched by the teachers, staff and friends they've made at Discovery Montessori. read more

My two toddlers have been going to discovery for about a year and they love it! We've had nothing but a great and positive experience attending the school and the teachers and staff are all so friendly and take amazing care of the kids. My kids have learned so much going there and I can really see an improvement in their knowledge of words, numbers, colors, and alphabet. Highly recommend! read more

I wish I could give this place a ZERO star. I really question if this place has any license and if the employees there have required licenses to work as a child-care provider. My 3-year-old son was MISTREATED by this place and when we found that out and wanted to have a conversation with the staff, they were unbelievably rude, unprofessional, and manipulative! My son was put in the adult's restroom by himself with NO pants on for at least 15 minutes multiple times! It's winter now! Can you believe a 3-year-old child being left alone with no pant on in an adult's restroom for at least 15 minutes?!!! My father-in-law found this happened for at least 3 times, and when he asked the front desk how long his grandson had been in the restroom, the front desk told him "oh, just 3 minutes". My father-in-law believed them and one day, he came to the daycare 15 minutes early and found his grandson in the adult's restroom by himself with no pant again!!! With NO pant!!! We had no idea what happened and what my son was doing in the restroom by himself for that long. He had fever and bad coughing that night and been sick for a week. So we went there and wanted to have a talk with the staff to find out what really happened. The principle Linda told us she had no clue what happened. What kind of principle/manger doesn't know anything about how his/her employees are doing? Linda tried to fool us by saying my son went to the restroom himself and he took off his pant and diaper by himself. First of all, my son just turned 3-year-old and he hasn't been potty trained yet and he has NEVER taken his pant and diaper off by himself. Secondly, even if he went to the restroom by himself, you guys just let a 3-year-old be there for 15 minutes (at least) by himself without checking how he was doing? We asked the front desk again about how long my son was in the restroom. The front desk said she doesn't remember... In other words, she was lying to my father-in-law by saying "oh, just 3 minutes"!! She had no idea how long my son was in the restroom but told my father-in-law that my son was there for JUST 3 MINUTES. Linda and my son's teacher Jessica later told us that they were potty training my son. Okay, it is contradictory to what they originally told us (my son went to the restroom and took off his pant and diaper by himself). Beyond that, what kind of potty training doesn't have an adult there?? You let a 3-year-old child potty train himself in an adult restroom with no adult there for 15 minutes or even longer (in the winter)??! It's just unbelievable and not professional at all. It's unethical!! What is more, we wanted to check the security camera footage and see if my son really went to the restroom himself or somebody sent him there. They told us the security camera has been broken and they have nothing to show us!!! That's extremely unprofessional as well. How can a child-care center has no security camera in the front desk area?? I swear to God this place is unprofessional and not an ideal place for you to send your kids to. The staff was not properly trained. The front desk is extremely rude and irresponsible. The principle Linda is a lair. I highly question the validity of the "good" reviews this place has. read more

My son attended prior to covid and went through the kindergarten program. He is non Chinese and learned Mandarin and even competed at UTD at a Chinese contest. This school is amazing. He learned to read fluently and can sound out words he has never seen easily. He learned double digit adding and subtracting, and his vocabulary was beyond his years. He stopped attending once pandemic hit and we moved further out to Prosper/Celina area so the distance and covid made us pause. He entered 1st grade at Prosper ISD (which is a known to be a good school district), however he was bored and complained of doing "baby" work. I noticed his eagerness to learn dwindled and his excitement for learning decreased. He was a different child, even behavior wise. I just re enrolled him this past week in Discovery Montessori for summer, and his demeanor has drastically improved! He is excited to show me what he has learned when I pick him up and most of all his happiness has returned! He loves learning again. He learned multiplication this past week and really understands the concepts. I love how they encourage him and don't keep him in a box just bc he is 7. He showed me reading passages and questions he answered to help him with comprehension. I just can't say enough about how great the teachers are here. It is worth the drive! read more

I sent my 3 yesrs old daughter to DMA last year. My daughter was only attended their school for 2,3 month and we have to seek other alternatives because she would came back from school with injuries, cuts on fingers, bitten mark by other kid and wounds. The school never gave incident notes and when we ask the principal or teacher what happened to the wounds. Their respond are: they don't know. One of the wound even have a permanent scar. Everytime we ask how she got the scar. The answer was consistent: the teacher pinched her to cause the wound. We also find our child is often depressed when come back from the school and don't want to communicate and she catch many bad behaviors from the classmates due to the mix age concept. She mentioned she got bullied by older kids in the class. Many times she came back and tell me: Mommy, I am not a bad kid. So, that makes me wonder what the teacher say to the these youngster all day long. Sometime, she will come back very sad and said: teacher said no daddy mommy (I guess this what teacher say to the kids when they crying for their parents). One time, the school principle told me one of the teacher put my daughter in the lobby (the entrance was right at the lobby, what if the kids run off from the door) by herself the reason being she hit other kids. After the principle finds out she is there by herself alone, then she brought her back to her class. When we ask the teacher why they put her unattended in the front lobby by herself, the answer was: she hits everyone in the class. When we ask the reason why and how many kids she hit. Again the answer was: they don't know. One time she came back with a bitten mark which was done by a girl. Another injuries we find on the back was unknown also when we ask the school. My daughter will come back with bleeding nose at least couple times a week (which only happened with the new school twice in the course of 8 months). The damages is immeasurable to us after 2, 3 month attending their school. We decide to pull her out from their school and they refuse to return the extra tuition. After a long talk with school, they only agrees to refund half, half of that for school credit only. But that's the money we haven't used. They have no right to keep the money they didn't earn. During the talk, they also admitted they were short of teachers due to it's summer. They assign 12 to 13 kids to one teacher for their class. That's not efficient at all. They also promised to give study report and picture of my daughter working on school projects, which they never did. After gave school many chances and their failed to deliver the promise or/and care, we have no choice but to pull her out of there. After almost a year put her into private Christian preschool. Most of her bad behavior has corrected and we find her to be a happy kid again. I waited to write this report wanting to see the difference from my daughter, so i can confirm it's the poor service (education) they provide, but not the child. Please give a second thoughts when you consider sending your kids to there. They operate like chaos there, it doesn't justify my daughter had at least 5, 6 times of injury in the course of 2 to 3 month time frame and no report or reason on how the incidents happen. We just sent our 4 years old daughter to this school. It is a bilingual school which is a perfect choice for any kid who wanna learn Chinese. This is not simply a daycare. They teach a lot of things including songs, numbers, simple Chinese character and etc. The teachers are nice. The principal Linda is kind, patient, and responsible. We were worry about our daughter because this is her first time been in a school. Linda keep us posted with pictures while my daughter is in the school. We send our 3 year old son to this school. I like this school as it has a formal class schedule every day. They rotate three language classes including Chinese, English and Spanish. The language courses are included in the tuition so we don't need to pay additional fees. The school also has different out-door activities including swimming, gardening and fieldtrips. The faculties are very professional, kind and reasonable. Sometimes I am getting very busy at work and they are willing to work around my schedule. The teachers remember everything about my son and it shows me that they pay attention to the details. This school definitely is a good choice if you want your children to gain a lot of knowledge in fun ways. read more

I can't put into words how grateful I am for this school and Mrs.linda. They are heaven sent. I appreciate their patience, generosity, and the attention they give my children. I have remained working and living in the area so that my 4year old can continue her education at Discover Montessori. I love that the classes are intimate and the teachers get the chance to "know" your child, their strengths, and weaknesses which creates a better experience for the children..
