Dr. Contorer is friendly and polite, and has daytime and evening hours. She bills insurance directly too. Her office is comfortable, but reminded me of my great aunt's living room.
I saw her for a few sessions, and while she was easy to talk to about most things, I was not entirely comfortable with her. I also felt like she did not necessarily "get" me or where I was coming from, and she did not provide as much feedback as I would have liked.
She assigns homework for clients to work on, including purchasing and completing workbooks. That was a new experience for me, and I did not feel it helped me any. I'm not saying this as a negative about her or the service she provides, only that it was not right for me.
Dr. Contorer also worked as a school teacher and mentioned that many of her clients are teachers as well. I did not know this going in, but appreciated her insight from that angle (I am also a teacher).
I would recommend her practice to others, but would also mention how I felt about my own experience with her. read more
