Advertising says…read morethis is a club to meet others for a relationship, but I have also met a bunch of really good friends and just people in general through the club. It gets me out of the house and helps stifle out some slumps of depression and social anxiety. There is a huge variety of events with no pressure to drink, find love or even socialize that much, despite it being what the club prompts you to do. If you just want to sit and listen, nobody is judgemental of that. Admission into the club is a little expensive, but despite not having a lot of money, I find that it is really worth it! You choose how much you want to spend on extras (food, drinks, etc.), which really does give a great variety. There are lots of free events and events that you get tickets at a discounted price! So far, I truly have nothing bad to say! Everyone is so friendly and nice!

I've been a member for over 2 years. When I first joined I was looking for love. I only joined for a year convinced that if I didn't meet the love of my life in that first year I would be done. The first year came and went and I met so many great people and did amazing activities that there was no hesitation in renewing my membership. My first activity was axe throwing and after that I told myself I was going to try everythin. It was fun meeting different people at different events. The people I met white water rafting were different then the people who enjoyed touring winerie. It was all fun and I grew as a person. As for finding love...that happened about 18 months in. A great friendship that grew out of the love for similar activities and great talks sitting around bonfires has resulted in me finding my person. I'm still a member, I still attend great activities that challenge me, and I have an amazing array of friends all because I took a chance and joined Events & Adventures. One of the best decisions of my life.

The downtown space is a whole block in the grain exchange so is much bigger and has more meeting space. It also has access to the skyway and government tunnel. Very ritzy with lots of food options nearby so if you're trying to impress I recommend this over NE.

As you walked around it was very dimly lit and the candles formed a perfect ambiance for romance. The place itself along with the violins, viola, and cello made the evening romantic. Membership is truely open to all, whether you live nearby or not, and dues are affordable ($50 family, more or less for individuals at various levels). It just really needs more people involved. Like, NOW! They host line dancing lessons a couple times per week, and (rarely), other social evnets that are open to the public. Mostly, it's just a large green space and rental hall, these days. I've been to a couple weddings here and a company picnic, and it's really a VERY nice set up. The ballroom has a large dance floor, a stage, small bar, and plenty of room for tables, then there's another "meeting" room with a long bar and more space, either for a buffet, or seperate event. They have a patio and pavilion right outside, plus a baseball diamond. As I understand it, rental rates are VERY competitive, and while it's far from glam, it's fairly well maintained and easy to decorate to your liking. The large patio, covered picnic area, and playground gives it major points above the typical rental hall, in my opinion. Unfortunately, they need new membership and more revenue BAD, or it could be taken over for suburban development. It holds 5 acres of BEAUTIFUL land in a convenient, yet quiet location ( that the City of Plymouth would make more money off of as condos or something), and since it's heyday in the 70s and 80s, the more motivated and social membership seems to have died out, leaving it vacant far more often than it needs to be. They are passively looking for groups interested in coming in to have events there such as ZUMBA, Scrapbooking, classes, etc.. I would love to see it utilized much more than it is (for public AND private events), but it's truely a hidden gem....probably too hidden to survive, sadly. http://www.wmlcc.org/ (The bartender picture on the homepage is TOTALLY fake. That's not what their bar is like at all. Haha!) If you're looking for a rental hall or venue and can handle the 'burbs (it's actually very close to Hwy 55, and not far from 3 other major highways) I'd definitely suggest checking it out. Disclaimer: I'm actually a member.... Feel free to tell them Alexis sent you, in any case, or let me know if you want to see about getting in there! I know who to ask.
