They charged me almost $200 extra because I am a woman. They quoted me $95/hr as seen below and got done in under 2 hours. When it was time to pay he charged me a extra $95 when asked it was for his "truck" paper says traveling fee and not to mention he added a extra $50 for the stairs, again, never mentioned never quoted. I spent almost $400 to move a small one bed room apartment..not to mention everything was broken down and I only had 7 storage bags to move! Because the job was easy it was greed to still try to charge the full amount adding unnecessary fees. I try to support black owned businesses but this is why I regret it everytime. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. They also have my TV sitting on cardboard it isn't even bubble wrapped. His sons also move incredibly slow and was distracted the entire time. My move could have easily been 1hr given it was only 5 large pieces and 7 storage bags (not even boxes) they just had to put it on like a purse. Avoid this company at all cost. Multiple pieces of my furniture were damaged by this moving company (tall standing mirror, kitchen table, dresser mirror, dresser, chest, bed frame, etc.). Nothing was wrapped by the movers before it left out of the apartment. If you care about your furniture staying damage free go with a different moving company. The furniture company has yet to resolve this issue. They don't want to pay for the damages their movers did. I went and had a professional furniture repair company provide a quote, and the damages total $1,000. Looks like I will have to take them to court to get it resolved since the company doesn't want to take responsibility for their careless handling of my furniture. The owner knows his guys damaged the furniture as he makes mention of the fact that his guys mentioned they may have scuffed my furniture in an email correspondence. If I could give 0 stars I would. The respect you have for a company when something like this happens is not due to the incident itself, but how the company handles the situation. I used Better Deal Movers for my move in Houston back in November. I went with 3 guys and they were to move a 1.5 bedroom apartment from 4th floor with cargo elevator to a town house with 3 floors, no elevator. My move began around 1pm after they had attended another move and they look tired and not that motivated from the first introduction. I had packed everything in boxes and labelled where they should go in the new home. I had also included "fragile" stickers and arrows making sure they were handled correctly. The move began well and after about 2-3 hours time, they had everything packed in the car ready to go. Only think I needed to be careful about and instruct them was to wrap our furniture's. They wanted to move our white sofa unwrapped (and other furniture's) which I told them was a no-go to avoid damages. They then wrapped all sides and corners in plastic. Arriving next place, we told them before take off from the apartment that we would go by McD to get them some food. We could see they were tired, so we thought some fresh energy would do well considering the "heavy part" of the move was only to come. We had already provided them water, Gatorade and protein bars at the move-out place. We arrived to the new home, and they started off having some food before getting to it. And it is then all the problems started... Boxes was put upside down... I had to stand and instruct for each item where to go (even though labelled). My wife suddenly tell me to have a look at the couch - the two guys that moved it up into our livingroom was pointing and talking about something which she noticed. And just as we feared, the couch was damaged and stained. Big black stain and the fabric was damaged. It was very clear that the couch had been scrapped over the floor of the truck leaving the stains and damaged the fabric. The plastic wrap was damaged as well. I then began to inspect all the furniture, one-by-one to get an overview of how much had been damaged during the move. It was A LOT!!! I told the guy I wanted to make sure they agreed to the damages and to cover my damages. He called his manager A.D. Davis, who ensured me they would take full liability and ensure to reimburse me as the furniture's should have been wrapped and taken care of. I therefore decided to pay the invoice in full, with a note that they had agreed to cover my stuff. I even paid tips to the crew, cause even though the move ended bad, they had still been working for 7.5hr and hopefully done their best. I now regret this, cause with numerous mails, phone call etc, I am still today not received any compensation and have not received a reply from the company since 17 December 2020. I have since sent 8 mails and called even more times with all promise by promise from the receptionist that AD would call me back. I have now filed a complain officially! This company is full of shit, have the worst customer service work ethic. please & please i repeat dont do business with these company, as they are unreliable and undependable. They dont show up for schedule appointment and dont give courtesy calls or messages. They were schedule to arrive my residence @ 2pm. 2.45pm no one showed up, so i decided to call and text, no response.. the actual movers (not the company) called around 3.45 letting me that they were double booked by management and wont be able to make it because they were tired and what not. Love these guys. We had a bad experience somewhere else we seen reviews and the negative reviews are lies!! They are very punctual, they were 20mins early, and they went over the move with my husband before starting. Then they started the clock and did they move quick and efficient. All of the movers were kind , professional, and have wonderful people skills. First let me start by saying that participation in your own move, at least on my end, is to be expected. I have nice things and I want them treated with respect. And I am paying YOU to do the heavy lifting. I will carry, touch, wrap, or move any single one of my belongings that I damn well please. Any feedback or input I had was ignored from the beginning- "we got this," "we do this for a living," "don't you worry about it (in a dismissive manner)." I am not helpless woman. I am a highly intelligent individual that is extremely logical. I know "illogical" when it's demonstrated to me and that's what was demonstrated to me by my movers for three straight hours. I want things done a certain way and i really don't care what anyone's opinion on the matter is. You are being paid to provide a service. I am not paying you to make careless decisions with my belongings. As my things were being packed up and close to being all loaded up, my movers got into a massive rush, grabbing any and everything and impatiently hurrying me in telling them what next. Canvas and glass pieces of art work were shoved in this large box with dozens of other irregular shaped items and I cringed waiting for something to break or rip. As we drove to the storage facility, they drove 10mph. THE. WHOLE. WAY. So much for being in that rush. I work for a shipping company that employs the use of similar trucks... I could not for the life of me see any conditions that warranted driving that slowly. Once at the storage facility, it was immediately evident to me that they were loading my storage space in a manner where they would quickly run out of room and have to pull everything out and move it back in again... ON MY DIME. I sat back and watched for about 10-15min, but as I realized that this was a disaster in the making, i FINALLY put my foot down after being dismissed all morning. Who attempts to stand a $5,000 vintage Kensington Sofa with irregular shaped arms on ITS A$$ end to be stored that way for 6-7 months???? And I mean, imagine standing an 8ft long couch straight up in the air, but yet the surface it's resting on isn't a surface that would rest flush with the ground. I'd really like to NOT have the arm of the couch break off and/or be horribly misshapen when I go to use it next. When i stepped in, that was the end of it. They were treating my belongings with zero regard and were going to blow my storage space up like a Tetris game gone wrong. I let them know they needed to stop and reorganize. As I began to rearrange things, one of the men barked at me- "DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS YOURSELF?" While throwing his hands in the air and giving me a dirty look. I reminded him that "You were hired to do the heavy lifting. This is my stuff and I'll do with it as I see fit and you will either respect my wishes or be done working as of this minute. I have ONLY this storage space and I will not pay for another seeing as though packing it the way you are will most certainly cause you to run out of room. And finally, I will not pay you to screw up and have to then re-do half this job." After this, they grew more pleasant and allowed me to direct the remainder of the move, while treating my things the way they should be treated. Everything thing fit like a charm, minus one last "push" to get the couch in there all the way. You provide a service to customers. PERIOD. You move items that might mean a lot to the people who own it. Be more respectful and allow opinion or input from your customers. After all, you do get paid by the hour and will only continue to make money if the customer makes bad decisions that will slow you down (yes, I realize you have a schedule). I did not pay to argue with someone who is providing me a service. It's my right to insist that the job is done right and that my belongings are treated with respect. I think I'll find another moving company that doesn't treat women like they need to sit back in the corner and be quiet while the big strong more intelligent men do the work. Y'all would've cost me an extra hour in labor had I let you continue. Unless that was part of your plan. read more

I am shocked to see any negative reviews for this company, because I was thoroughly impressed with them and the service they recently provided for my son. They were very professional, and extremely efficient. They handled all of his items with complete care, wrapping furniture along the way to be sure there was no damage done during the moving process. They were very easy to work with, kind and respectful. I particularly appreciated that they did not try to bleed the clock and stick my son with a high bill, which has been my experience with other moving companies in the past. Man I have never been so disappointed in movers in my life. First off these 3 guys could break down any of my furniture, making so many excuses. I have moved over 5 times in 5 years and never once have I ever encountered such idiots as with them. They also told me if it wasn't in a box they wouldn't move it, so they wouldn't take anything in bags. Which was also fine, as they packed I made 4 trips back and fourth since we were only moving under 2 miles. Then for the final move, my kids and I show up at the new home again which is 2 miles away, these guys show up 90 minutes later after we all left together and they sealed the truck. We get to our new home, they tell me they can't assemble my sons bedroom furniture, a week later my daughter falls in the middle of the night when her bed breaks from loose bolts and I go to store stuff under my bed and find a flat plank that belongs to the kids bedroom under my bed. Also they put my dresser pegs and only put 3 on under my huge marble dresser, so my dresser is on 3 pegs. They lost the bolts to my mirror that is just sitting on my dresser waiting to fall over. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I am contacting the better business bureau, I was ripped off and scammed. read more

These 3 fools came in complaining the minute they walked in. They were cocky and ignorant. Lazy, and placed our boxes all over the floor and didn't even read the labels to put them in the correct rooms. I told them i was pregnant and that i needed assistance. They stacked my kitchen like a storage room! I have 2 young boys and I need access to my fridge! Worst company ever! read more
