JEFFERY IS NOT A LICENSCED CONTRACTOR. PLEASE CHECK THE LICENSE # BEFORE HIRING HIM. I hired H T…read moreConstruction to install luxury vinyl plank flooring in my foyer, living room and dining room area. Jeffery came to my home and installed my vinyl flooring. The floor cracks when I walk on it and the planks are not properly locked together. Also, when I walk on the floor, I stump my toes because the floor is so poorly installed the ridges from where they are supposed to join are raised off the floor. I tried to resolve these issues with Jeffery with no resolution. Jeffery was rude and constantly talked over me and made it clear that I did not know how a floor should look, and I did not know what I was talking about even though I have laminated flooring in other parts of my home. Jeffery also told me he installed a FLOATING FLOOR. FLOATING FLOORS DO NOT LOOK LIKE THIS, MY FLOOR. It would not take a professional contractor to look at my floor and know it was installed poorly. My advice is run do not walk away from H T Construction. All of the hype you see on their website; not true. They will take your money and not do the work correctly. Also let me add I requested a breakdown of my PAID invoice and have not received that as of this date 07/27/2024. The room painting was done poorly; painted the air conditioning thermostat and vent, window chain used to open and close the verticals. Did not tape off anything just painted. I was also charged for an electrician that never came to replace and check my electrical outlets. Two floor installers showed up to do the floor installation; one was a young man who looked like he was still in high school and did not have any idea of how to install flooring. Jeffery told me maybe the flooring was defective. When I questioned him if the floor was defective, he should have seen that as the floor was being installed and not installed the flooring and I could have retuned the flooring. This was another attempt to shift the blame for the poorly installed flooring to something or someone else. H T CONSTRUCTION & RENOVATIONS INC

After experiencing…read moremultiple issues during my renovation, I discovered that Megapolis Construction did not appear to hold an active Florida contractor license. Permits for my project appeared to be filed through another company, M & Z Construction. My project experienced significant delays, change-order/upcharge disputes, inspection and engineering/blueprint issues, and several promised items that were never completed. Some work I ultimately completed myself to move the project forward. During disputes over these issues, the possibility of a construction lien was also raised. When I later sold the property, the closing attorney flagged concerns regarding the contractor/licensing structure and held part of the sale proceeds temporarily while the matter was reviewed. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to independently verify licensing, permitting, contracts, and who is actually responsible for the work / injuries / defects before making payments or signing agreements. Nick, the owner of Megapolis Construction is apparently a married man. To the licensed contractor of the Florida license he used for permits for my project. They are invested together financially but with the current structure, it seems they are able to possibly avoid any direct liability operating between 2 companies.

I asked J Bailey for a price on repairing exterior wall cracks and painting my main house and back…read morecottage. Although his price was fair, because I am on a fixed retirement income I could afford only to have the main house done. I was worried that, because the job was pretty small, he would pass on it (it's happened before), especially since a lot of his work is pretty big projects, but he was very understanding and re-wrote the proposal for the main house only, plus he agreed to let me look on to learn how they did the repairs and the materials they used so I could try to do the back house myself later. He used subcontractors for the work but it was a very small and tightly knit crew, and Jeff Bailey was on site several times to make sure everything was going as planned. This was the first impressive thing about J Bailey--even though my job was a small one, it was getting the same level of consideration as his big jobs. The second impressive thing was how communicative everyone was. They texted daily to inform me who would show up when, and what work they would do the next day, and told me in advance the one day they couldn't make it due to weather. When they were here, they described step-by-step what they did. I was never in the dark about anything. About the contractors: Maynor (sorry if sic) patched all the major cracks. He told me what he used, and described what he was doing and what tools I'd need for my back house. He did excellent work, once the paint was on you can't see any trace of the patch jobs. A father-son team, Ed & Brandon, did the initial pressure-washing, most of the minor crack patches (Maynor came back and helped on one day), priming, and painting. Ed did most of the painting. He showed me what to use for patches and how to work it into the cracks. He used top-of-the-line paint, Benjamin Moore, and did a meticulous job, he got into some pretty difficult spaces to get the porch and patio walls. And even though my back door and steps were not in the contract, he painted them anyway with the leftover paint I had the last time I painted them. These guys do a great job for what they're hired to do, and go above & beyond their contracted responsibilities to make sure the job is not only right, but the best.

There are not enough words to say how happy I am with Ronald and McCafferty Home Services. I am new…read moreto the Florida area and my husband and I recently bought a home, so I called about 10-12 different companies to vet them about everything from painting (interior and exterior of our new home), to electrical work, to something more simple such as power washing. The reason why I picked Ronald was because out of the companies that I called he was one of one that actually answered and responded to my calls and texts (DIRECTLY) within five minutes. Every other company was sending me to a third-party where I would have to explain over and over again to the workers what I wanted/needed. (Most of which unfortunately didn't speak English). Usually, I pick someone with reviews on yelp, however, the companies I called with over 10 reviews almost always sent my call to a third-party and or did not reply right away. I am so extremely happy that I went with my judgment on McCafferty home services. In addition, when Ron did not provide a service, he would either refer me to someone that did, or tell me the honest truth and to do some of my own vetting (example: movers/landscaping). MEANING, he did not send people my way unless he could vouch for them, and this meant a lot to me. At the end of the day, I am so incredibly happy with the craftsmanship, the timeline, and the kind demeanor of him and his team. Also, he sent pictures and videos every step of the way, which was so thoughtful and great for us, some thing he did not have to do. We can't wait to have him install our LED mirrors, paint the outside of our house, and see him once in a while to power wash our front and back yard. This may have been a pretty long review, but to be honest, I did not know how to sum it up and a short version. I highly recommend anyone to use McCafferty Home Services and look forward to hiring them again. Thank you! Sincerely, Laureta (Elle) Cami
