I really wanted to like this coffee shop, but after getting my order wrong 3 out of 5 times both ordering ahead AND in person it's become frustrating more than enjoyable. Mistakes happen, but when it happens almost every time, it turns into a real inconvenience. What makes it worse is the long wait to get the drink corrected. By the time the issue is fixed, I'm already late or forced to rearrange my schedule. The last time I had to wait 25 minutes!!! If you're consistently busy, accuracy and efficiency should be a priority. I gave this Better Buzz Coffee location another chance after a disappointing visit last month (Sun. 3/22), and it was the exact same issue--again. At this point, it's clearly a pattern, especially on Sundays. Last time, I placed a mobile order in advance and arrived at the pickup time. My order wasn't ready. The café wasn't busy, yet drive-thru and walk-in customers who ordered after me got their drinks first. Several employees were standing around talking, and when I asked about my order, I was told it was being worked on--only to find out it had been sitting behind the counter waiting for ice. That's not a delay--that's poor workflow and lack of attention. Waiting over 15 minutes for one iced coffee in a non-busy store is unacceptable. What made it worse? No apology from the manager. Today was no better. I placed a mobile order at 7:34 AM with an estimated pickup of 7:39 AM. Immediately after ordering, the time was pushed to 7:56 AM. That completely defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. If the system can't handle mobile orders properly, it shouldn't be offered. This location consistently fails at the basics--organization, communication, and customer service. Mobile orders are clearly not being prioritized or managed correctly, and the staff appears disengaged. The Sunday team, in particular, needs serious improvement. The coconut macadamia matcha was amazing. The flavor was light and refreshing without it being too dense. I would go back and get some more. I also got the better breakfast with avocado. It was good on the pretzel bun. Would be interested in trying their other food items. Seating is limited and hard to find especially if you're in a bigger group. I love the decor of this place and it was funny is that the day I came there was a person dressed up in a bee costume. When you walk in, it feels like a high-end hotel and they have a variety of food and drinks that you can order from this is actually my first time at a better buzz and I can see why it's a popular chain. I stopped by this better buzz while I was in the area. This is definitely one of the toughest to navigate locations - the parking lot is very small (lots of spaces just way too tight for two directions) and trying to enter/exit on this busy road is brutal. I ordered the mint coffee mojito for online pickup and was pretty disappointed. It was mostly cream (see picture) where I'm used to this drink being coffee forward. It lacked mint flavor too. I would probably avoid this location and try hillcrest or another one instead. read more

But I guess if there is demand, you got to try to meet it (even if it's in the same shopping mall). We just happened to be in the neighborhood so came to this location here in Mission Gorge. It has a fair amount of parking. They having seating indoors and outdoors. They also have a drive thru which is convenient. We decided to head in to order our drinks. It was cool inside (was a hot summer day when we stopped by). Several workers greeted us as we walked in. We have ordered here many times before, so we all kind of knew what we wanted. We sat down and I couldn't help but notice some of the tables and seating required some TLC (like it was very noticeable). I'm sure the workers all had something they had to get done, but I think at least one person should circle through the seating area to make sure everything is in order. We were there a solid 30-45 minutes and I don't remember anyone checking or cleaning the seating area. We got our drinks in the time you would expect. Drinks were pretty good. I love their Coconut Buzz... and I'm not the biggest fan of coconut lol. Something about the flavor profile just makes it very appealing to me. The others in my group enjoyed their drinks as well. We hung out for a short time because it was warm outside. Service was good. The gal that took our order was super nice and personable. Drinks were spot on and timely. I'd return to this location again. I really like Better Buzz Coffee. My only knock was the seating area was not clean, but I'm going to chalk it up the workers being too busy. However, my most recent experience was subpar. The gal who took over the register was pretty cold and lacked professionalism. It was off putting especially for 7am. With that said, I think their coffee is just okay. I'm not positive they're still using pure espresso in their drinks, I haven't gotten a true caffeine "buzz" from their lattes in a long time. Smaller better buzz store with about 8 tables and a few outlets. It's very clean and well lit and music is a good level for those who want to study. There is a spacious parking lot and also offers a drive through. I like how better buzz roasts their own beans and has expanded to many locations throughout San Diego county. While I love Better Buzz, this is my least favorite location due to the inconsistency of the drinks, service, cleanliness, and overall layout of the lot and drive through. Our standard order is always an iced vanilla latte with almond milk and then either a coconut buzz with coconut milk or the chai buzz with almond milk. We've ordered all of these at least 5 times from the Grantville location and it's only matched their other locations once. The drinks have either been too milky and not enough espresso or too sweet or no vanilla. Service improved last time in the drive thru but inside needs work and their tables usually need a wipe and napkins refilled. The parking lot is tight, you can only access the drive thru from Zion now, and exit heading east on Mission Gorge. It's safer this way but still a headache. I'd love to order from my 4 regular locations and not know which one came come where, because consistency matters. read more

I usually try to decide what I want to order beforehand because I know it can be annoying, especially when there's a long line. This time though I didn't know exactly what I wanted but Sarah was very patient with me. I ended up getting an iced chai with banana cold foam that she recommended, and it was a 10/10! Great choice! I usually go to this location, and it's always a really friendly experience. Every time I come in, the staff greets me with a smile, which honestly makes the place feel very welcoming. I also appreciate how consistent they are with their service. Another reason I like coming here is because it's a great place to study. The environment is comfortable and relaxed, so it's easy to focus for a while without feeling distracted.
