Amber did a great job on my Mother of the Groom dress. It needed to be shortened and also adjusted on top. I dropped off the dress in plenty of time, which was good because I wanted the dress adjusted just a little bit more after I tried it on after the alterations. Amber took just one more week to get it perfect. Even though the place seems small, there are two dressing rooms and lots of mirrors there, both so you can explain what you want done and then later see the results. Well as a person in uniform for work, I have to maintain a perfessional look at all times. So dependable tailoring service is a must! I normally go to Bethel Tailor because it right up the straight. The business is run and operated by person. I do not know her name but she if very nice, provided quick service and one hell of a seamstress. On my last visit, she explained the difficulty of sewing on some patches for a tactical uniform. She showed me how you would be able to do the job and promised it back to me in a timely fashion. As a matter of fact, my order was ready for pick-up in two days. I'm also glad that she adjusted her prices. I use to complain that her services was too expensive but now they are very reasonable, She takes the time to do measurements, does all kinds of tailoring from work cloths to wedding gowns, suites and home decor. Not only is she quick to provide an online quote through Yelp, she is upfront and honest about what can and cannot be done for bridesmaid alterations in specific time constraints. I wanted the plunging v neck on my dress sewn up, but the owner told me it would ruin the symmetry of the dress; instead, she took the dress up from the shoulders and altered it and it looked wonderful. I took the dress in on Christmas Eve at 5pm and the dress was ready first thing in the morning on Dec 27. As it was a rush order, it set me back $70, which is exactly what David's bridal we're trying to charge me weeks before, so I felt that was an honest price. I needed to get my California king size comforter dry cleaned. The ladies were prompt at answering my questions over the phone and polite. When I got my comforter back it was neatly folded into a comforter bag. The women were friendly on arrival as well. read more

Quality of work is pretty good however they are very expensive and unwavering. They charged me $45 just to hem and alter the legs of my coveralls. I've had 6 pair of coveralls done by them so far. I also took a pair of coveralls to them to were hemmed and tailored by them and noticed the zipper was unthreaded about 2-3 inches once I got home. I took it to them and they said they don't/didn't touch zippers and have a minimum $6 policy on any stitching, no matter the size. I found that to be ridiculous, $6 for a job that would easily take her 1 min to do? Other tailors such as Village Alterations, Chief Mac and Emma alterations charge much less. I ended up taking my business to Village Alterations and they only charged $29 to hem and tailor my coverall legs and they fixed the zipper for my other pair for free. I've gone to several tailors that I know would have fixed that zipper issues for free or much cheaper, especially if I've done business with them before. read more

Do not get formal wear alterations here! I took my bridesmaids dress to get altered and the owner told me it would be ready 9/23. I arrived to pick it up on that day and she couldn't find the dress. After a while searching, she found it and it hadn't been started on yet. She told me to come back two days later. When I came back and tried it on, it was as if it hadn't been touched. I was frustrated and didn't have time to go anywhere else so I took it and left after overpaying for essentially nothing. I would give zero stars if possible. read more

Rainy did an incredible job altering my wedding dress! I was very nervous, as I've never had to find someone to tailor something quite as ornate and precious before. Many people had told me to go to speciality wedding boutiques to get my gown done, but they were quoting me absurd amounts of money. Despite my dress being 2 sizes too big (yay rack sales!), having an ornate structured bodice, many layers of skirt, and illusion lace, she made that massive beast of a dress look like it was made for me. It was incredibly affordable. Now, just to date this review, all of this happened during the Pandemic AND Civil Rights protests. Rainy was incredibly responsive through the stay-at-home order, and got me back in the shop as soon as she safely could to pick up my dress, and took every safety precaution. Then, when the protests broke out in Hampton, she took all the wedding dresses to another location for safety, just in case there was any looting or damages in the area. I always felt very safe for both myself AND my dress. Which, honestly, is not exactly something I ever expected to need to worry about when I started the wedding planning process, but I'm glad she had my back. If this wasn't enough, she went above and beyond in other ways. During the pandemic, out of boredom, stir-craziness, and a desire to do something fun, I dyed my armpits bright blue. While it did in fact provide some entertainment and made me feel quite a bit like the sassy art student I once was, it managed to stain my dress when I came in 2 weeks later (despite having no staining on any of my far less valuable or important clothing in the weeks prior). So when i discovered the teal stains upon taking it off, I had to shamefacedly go to Rainy-- an elegant, well dressed, classy woman-- and admit that I had managed to ruin my WEDDING DRESS of all things because I decided to dye my armpits BLUE. To her everlasting credit, she only laughed a little bit, took the whole thing in stride, never once looked at me like I was crazy, called a dry cleaner, and came out to my car (where I was panic crying to my best friend) multiple times to update me, and then called me the next day with total success. Additionally, she made sure my armpits were no longer blue when I came back in for my next fitting. I bought my wedding dress pre-COVID but ended up having to reschedule the wedding for 2yrs later. In the meantime my weight went up and down and I couldn't get the buttons to close. I had about 6 weeks until the wedding and was in a major panic. I read the reviews and decided to take it here. She had me try on the dress and immediately said the only option was to replace the buttons and zipper with a corset. DEAL! I had to go pick out the fabric myself and bring it back but understood because, as she explained, they use to provide the fabric but then had a customer end up hating it and saying it's not what she asked for. She finished it in a few weeks and we decided the straps needed adjusting which she finished in another week. All for only $220! (Plus about $13 for fabric) Had I taken it to a bridal store it would've cost the same as getting another dress. She was very sweet and to the point and VERY fair on price for being a miracle worker! read more

bought a wedding dress last minute bc my fiancé is deploying at the end of the year.. someone told me about this place so i took it in wanting a corset back bc my dress was too snug. the lady told me i didn't need one and said she could take an inch off the back near the zipper. went in after it was done to try the final on and it was still snug where i could still barely breathe but she told me the wedding dress is supposed to be tight after i told her i was still having a hard time breathing and needed to be able to sit down and eat in it at the reception dinner. today is my wedding (june 10) and last night i did a final try on and went to breath and the clip on my back broke off and the zipper wouldn't stay zipped up so here we are on my wedding day last minute trying to fix the back of the dress so it will stay zipped up in the back bc i was told the wedding dress is supposed to be tight. i didn't know i wasn't supposed to breathe. read more
