Hello Everyone ! I am not a rec parent, but a rec aunt! My nephew is a 15 year old boy on one of…read morethe senior boy teams! The championship was today! My sister-in-law is not a fellow yelper but I'm going to help her right this review! The first thing I want to point out is it they told everybody about the championship location the day of. At 10 am. I mean it could be better could be worse‍ just the lack of organization is kind of annoying! Also the championship game was originally for yesterday, 8/7, where mostly everyone, not including myself, but including my nephew, were going to the Zach Bryan Concert at the Linc so fun! I'm glad they decided to reschedule the game so the boys could have fun ! My sister-in-law and I decided to watch the girls game! I wish we did not come to the decision....my first thought is the Hot Pink team was on fire amazing! But then I heard that one of the players is a full time travel team player? What?! This is a recreation league! I really don't remember her name or number I'm sorry all I know is that she made every shot besides 2 the whole game. By half time is was 5-30. I was talking to a girl in the bleachers who used to play. I was wondering if it has always been like this....she said "Absolutely not. At least when I was in intermediate girls. I used to stroll off the beach in a wet bathing suit throw my jersey on on top, put on a pair of Lulu Lemon shorts and walk in with my hair wet. I didn't want to play this year because of how competitive it is." I don't know if the quote on quote directed knows this but...The goals of the Recreational (REC) basketball Divisions are to provide the highest quality fun, positive learning environment for basketball skill and personal character development. Not for a college recruit playing against someone who's there to have fun. It simply isn't fair ‍ If you are playing in a high school team or a travel team go play with your own skill level !! Let the other kids have fun!!! No parent should let their kid do that. They are ruining the game for everyone else!!!!! Then I was told the coach and one of the players are siblings...kind of weird, but okay! Then they told me the sister is a COACH. Are you kidding ??? She also started hysterically crying when she got fouled which is fully pathetic. Your around all your co-workers. Grow up. Also we need those what they call refs to read a rule book because the calls are bizzare! I saw one boy put his hand around another player's neck! Ugh it is so sad how these games have changed. My sister-in-laws kids are not returning !!! MIGHT I ADD ITS 250 DOLLARS AND THE COACHES KEEP THE SAME KIDS IN THE WHOLE GAME. I understand they are college/high schoolers but come on!!! Rec leagues are supposed to be enjoyable ! I hope they get a new director and new coaches because we are at the beach !! We should have fun !!!

The facility, which is very clean, is state of the art, and the owner and staff go above and beyond to ensure a smooth and memorable event. We are fortunate to live fairly close to Slim's, but my boys' teammates travel even from the beach to attend our Slim's parties. He's also teaching my son how to analyze and adjust during an at-bat. The transformation has been nothing short of incredible, as my son's confidence and contributions to his teams continue to grow with each game and each lesson. Steve's instruction is the best around... Additionally, the facilities at Slim's Sports Complex are exactly what the MOT area needed. The training and performance programs are plentiful and are taught by incredibly qualified pros who are professional with all of the participants. Once a week, I'm lucky enough to beat someone in the face senselessly and get away with it. After…read morethe cops leave my house, I find my way over to Eastern Regional Park and play some Baltimore County Dodgeball. Yep. Every Saturday I hoof it from D.C. to Baltimore explicitly to throw balls at faces. Hard. Why? I mean, besides the obvious of the epicness that is dodgeball, it's once a week (Saturdays at 11am... enough time for me to show up still a little bit drunk, but awake enough to participate). It's also only $10 for the season, you heard me, ten whopping dollars (first day is free to try out). Seriously, I just shit a bacon cheeseburger that cost me more than that (to be fair, the poop was pretty fantastic). Fourthly, it is FUN. Super mega bonus karma points? It's county run, which means it's NOT run by United Social Sports... nothing against them, there is a time and a place for USS, however, it's nice to get a break from the 40+ dudes that want to power punch a rubber dodgeball at you so hard your ovaries leap into your throat. Plus, there aren't set teams. New ones are chosen each week depending on the rate of participation, and it enables you to play with a variety of different types of players, adjust your own game, etc. The folks there are friendly enough to help you out with different tactics/techniques if you ask. Some additional deets: - Six 8" Voit Foam balls are used during play (word on the street says Gator Skins will be on their way, so there's that). I bring my pink Gator Skin (aka Pink Thunder) with me, too. - Indoor Basketball Court with white lines for the borders (don't know the exact measurements off the top of my head, but they are NADA Regulation sized I believe). Yep, during the blistering summer, it's one of the few indoor sports where the players skin doesn't turn into delicious delicious bacon. - Parking is plentiful. Coming from DC, I welcome the availability of places I can drag my metal machine without having to worry about whether or not i just took up two spaces (I'm a terrible driver, so I probably did... okay, lets just assume I did). - Co-ed, and all ages (signing a waiver is likely a requirement) So basically, if you don't come out and play every Saturday at 11AM at Easter Regional Park, I'll eat your babies. A lot. P.S. I don't think BCDB has a direct website, however, they are on Facebook. P.P.S. After sitting and watching Maury level drama unfold in my other (non BCDB) super stuffy Dodgeball league, I must say, I can't wait for Saturday to come.

Seeing as one of my buddies runs the thing, I highly recommend it!…read more Dodgeball at it's finest: No pressure pickup, a fun and friendly atmosphere, and all skill levels are welcome. The times have changed, currently it's running on Sundays from 1000-1200 and it's $25 for the season or free to come and try it out. Right now the Season runs for 10 weeks, but every person who signs up tacks on another week of play. If you have the time, I urge you to give it a try. After a rough week at the office it's nice to throw some balls at my best friends.
