Probably twice an hour, it lights up, rumbles... but no worries. Nothing will erupt on you! Hot tip: Look for their coupon either in a local coupon book or on their social media page. They also match competitor coupons. We found a Buy 3, Get 1 Free deal, which was great for a family of four. Overall, this was a fun way to spend some time together without feeling like we were packed onto a mini golf course with everyone else. There are plenty of options in Ocean City, but Embers Island worked out ok for us. I might just try another next time.

We showed up a few minutes before it opened at 10 AM and the lady behind the desk let us pay and go in. Our three youngest kids got in for free which was great because at 12 bucks a person, it really felt like a waste of money even for the two older kids who barely played golf. since the course is fenced in, we adults were able to play around each of the holes as our kids ran wild across the empty course. We did of course have to limit them, to keep them from climbing on top of the mini castle, etc. they were fascinated by the hole where when the golf ball doesn't make it to the other side of the stream, it gets sent down and out a log onto the bottom part of the course and they would carry the golf balls back up to the stream and drop them in just to see them roll out down below. They also loved the pinko style ball drop at the end. Overall, I'm really happy we went.

But if you're expecting the fun, themed, challenging mini golf experience, I'd probably look elsewhere.

The camp hosts are good about cleaning and maintaining the area they're each in charge of. The beaches are nice and it's fun to go clamming out in the bay. I was so eager to see the horses I heard about, but weary we might not see any. Maybe we were lucky, because we saw sooo many horses! On the road, in the parking lots, in marshes, wandering, grazing, standing on front of cars. So cute! Stop at the visitors center first. Very nice place, helpful information, exhibits, a touch tank, bathrooms, gift shop and then you'll be on your way. Admission per vehicle gets you access for a week. We loved spending a few hours here so much that we came back a second day. The beaches are clean and not crowded. Lots of dogs, so be warned if you're averse. The marsh trail was really cool. We saw several small fishies, pipefish, crabs, egrets, just really cool to look in the water throughout the trail and observe. Bayside beaches are hidden spots for isolated swims. I saw a family here and there just swimming completely alone. The forest trail was also a good one to walk. More interesting nature. We weren't too crazy about the dune trail. Although, it was interesting to see the old abandoned road in the middle of the dune. Horses here there and everywhere, almost. Overall, such a fun place to visit. Go for a few hours or spend the day. Remember, ensure it's breezy and you'll be almost completely fly free.

The sandy area is very wide and stretches for 3 miles with zero shady spots or trees. Lifeguards were gone for the day with their stands turned upside down. I noticed some vehicles actually parked on the beach near the northern end, a very cool perk that is not allowed back home. Ocean conditions were fairly calm but most folks were in waist-high water at most. OVERALL: Spacious real estate, but coming from Hawaii, my expectations are set too high, LOL.

I understand there is an expense in maintaining pools, and that the owners pay fees, but the $9 per person per day without the ability to pool hop among their many pools if you don't like the one you started in is a bit steep. I think maybe $6 for adults and$3 per kids would be more reasonable, especially since the average stay is around 2 and a half hours. Still, it was clean , the people were pleasant, and my family had a decent time.

The owner and attendants are helpful, friendly and attentive. The course is well maintained and we'll kept.Good, family atmosphere. Fun course (not too hard) great for kids. After wasting time to decide if she could sell us the wristbands, we were on our way to ride and have fun. But probably 10 minutes to 11, they start closing rides and doing maintenance.
